Ella POV:

I shot up in bed, my heart hamring against my ribs as the realization hit like a freight train. Did Jason use protection?

Oh, shit.

Panic clawed at my chest as I tried to think back to last night. It had all been a blur—the drug ssing with my head, Jason finding , the heat of his body against mine, the way he held like I was the most precious thing in the world. I groaned, running my hands through my hair. How could I have forgotten to ask?!

I wasn’t so clueless girl. I was Ella Kingsley. My father raised to be sharp, ruthless, and in control. Yet, here I was, sitting in my bed, clutching the sheets, and having a full-blown ltdown because I might have just let Jason—Jason of all people—knock up.

Okay. Deep breath.

There was a chance nothing happened. A small chance. Jason was reckless, but he wasn’t stupid... right?

My stomach twisted. Oh, God. I needed to talk to him.

But before I could do that, my mind snapped back to Jake.

That bastard.

If Jason hadn’t found , I would have woken up in Jake’s bed instead. Drugged. Defenseless. Used.

A shudder wracked my body as fury replaced my panic. Jake had crossed a line.

And now, he was going to pay.

Jake was going to regret ever thinking he could ruin .

He thought he could drug , take advantage of , and get away with it? Oh, he was about to learn a painful lesson—one that would make him wish he’d never even t .

He thought he could ruin and get away with it?

No. Not a chance.

I was going to pay him back in his own coin.

I was going to annihilate him.

But first, I had another problem to deal with. Jason.

That stupid, arrogant, reckless Jason.

Jason wasn’t at the top of my list anymore. Sure, I still had questions for him—like whether or not he used protection because holy shit, I was not ready for an accidental baby with him. But that could wait. Jake was my priority now.

He thought he could use like a pawn, but I wasn’t so weak little girl. I was a Kingsley. My father didn’t raise a fool. He raised a fighter. A strategist. A weapon.

And Jake? Oh, he was about to learn exactly what kind of monster he had awakened.

I smirked to myself, already formulating my plan. If Jake wanted to play dirty, I’d play filthy.

I’d make him wish he was never born.

*******

I took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm inside . My mind was racing with a thousand ways to make Jake regret the day he ever decided to cross . Drugging ? Planning to take advantage of ? That wasn’t just betrayal—it was war.

I wasn’t so naive girl who would cry in a corner. No, I was a Kingsley. I knew how to handle snakes like Jake. I’d been raised by a man who built empires and crushed enemies before breakfast. And my father always said, revenge should be slow, precise, and absolutely devastating.

Jake thought he could get away with it? He had no idea what was coming.

But before I could fully dive into my revenge, there was one pressing issue that needed imdiate attention.

I groaned as I shifted on my feet, every inch of sore from last night. Jason had done a number on , and I was still feeling the aftermath. My legs were wobbly, my thighs ached, and let’s just say walking normally wasn’t an option. There was no way in hell I was going to the office like this.

So, here I was, pacing around the house in nothing but an oversized T-shirt, which—now that I looked closely—was Jason’s. Why the hell did I put this on? I was supposed to be mad at him!

Speaking of Jason, the house was eerily quiet, aning he was already gone.

Good. I needed ti to process everything. To figure out how to deal with Jake first before dealing with Jason and his infuriating ass.

But first—food.

I headed to the kitchen, and to my surprise, Jason had cooked. There was a plate waiting for on the counter, covered neatly with a note attached.

I grabbed the note, unfolding it with narrowed eyes.

"Eat up. You need your strength after yesterday’s exercise. Call when you need . Yours truly, your handso husband."

The hell?!

Did Jason seriously think that just because we slept together everything was suddenly good between us?! That I was his now?!

I should be fuming, but instead, a small, traitorous smile tugged at my lips. Damn it, he could cook.

Ugh.

I grabbed a fork and started eating, cursing Jason with every delicious bite. The food was good. Annoyingly good.

Once I was done, I wiped my mouth, grabbed my phone, and dialed his number. I needed answers.

I tried to replay last night in my head, but everything was a blur. The heat, the desperation, the way he completely ruined — I shook my head. Focus, Ella.

What if—?

No. No. I refused to let my first ti turn into an accidental pregnancy scare.

Only one way to find out.

I grabbed my phone and, without hesitating, dialed Jason’s number.

Ring.

Ring.

"Co on, pick up," I muttered under my breath.

Then—

"Get your ass over here. Now."

There was a pause, then a chuckle. "Miss already, sweetheart?"

I gritted my teeth. "Jason. I swear to God, if you don’t get here in the next twenty minutes—"

"Relax, I’m on my way," he interrupted. "But you sound cute when you’re bossy."

I hung up before I could murder him through the phone.

Now, I just had to wait for him to get here. Because if he didn’t use protection last night...

Jason King was going to die. He better had.
