Wang Shuo flicked the ball into the air. Aided by its own montum, it sailed precisely through the gap that had opened between Krstajic and Hewedes, landing on the right side of the penalty area behind the defensive line.
After completing the maneuver, Wang Shuo lost his balance and slipped to the ground just outside the penalty area.
But in that instant, everyone was stunned!
A surprised shriek erupted throughout the entire Veltins Arena.
Hewedes lifted his foot, trying to block the pass, but he couldn’t get anywhere near the ball.

After scoring the goal, Schürrle was so ecstatic he spun around and took off, shouting as he ran off the pitch to celebrate.
Wang Shuo scrambled up from the ground, quickly catching up and pulling Schürrle into a forceful embrace.

"That was so damn incredible!"
"I can’t believe you actually made that pass while surrounded by four players!"
The other Mainz players, running over to celebrate, were all astonished.
’So it wasn’t just a spur-of-the-mont play, it was planned all along!’

So this was what Wang Shuo had promised Klopp during halfti—that he would absolutely break through Schalke 04’s defense.
