Hamburg seized the opportunity, and in the 55th minute, Robert Tesche scored from the right flank.
1-3!
In the 60th minute, seeing a glimr of hope for a coback, Labbadia brought on two players at once.
Forward Marcus Berg replaced Tolun.
Left winger Elia replaced the team’s on-field captain, Jarolim.
Both substitutions were made to strengthen the attack.
Labbadia was clearly going for broke.
After the substitutions, Hamburg began to attack Dortmund with reckless abandon.
At the sa ti, they were pressing and swarming Dortmund in the midfield.
Just as Hamburg’s offensive reached its peak, Dortmund was forced to fall back and defend the edge of their own penalty area. They were pinned inside the 30-ter zone, and the situation looked dire.
This left the Dortmund fans in the stands extrely worried.
"Hamburg’s offensive has been relentless these last few minutes."
"Klopp needs to make substitutions soon to stabilize the situation. Otherwise, things could get dangerous."
"Let’s watch this attack from Hamburg."
"It’s with Petrich again."
"Petrich on the ball... he passes."
"Subotic intercepts!"
"Hamburg imdiately start to press and win it back."
Just as Dortmund’s midfielders and defenders were struggling to find an effective outlet, Humls received the ball on the right side of the 30-ter zone. As he used his body to shield it from the pressing forr Bayern midfielder, Trochowski, he saw Wang Shuo dropping back from upfield.
"Here! Pass it here!"
Wang Shuo, outside Hamburg’s pressing zone, raised his hand for the ball.
Without a second thought, Humls sent a lofted pass his way.
It wasn’t a good pass. It was far too wide for Wang Shuo to receive directly.
Fortunately, Hamburg was in a 4-4-2 formation and pressing high with their midfielders and forwards, which left a large gap between their midfield and defensive line.
As soon as Wang Shuo read the ball’s path, he turned and gave chase. Just before Hamburg’s holding midfielder, Thomas Lincon, could reach it, Wang Shuo hooked it back with his left foot.
Thomas Lincon was one of the best ball-winning machines in the Bundesliga that season.
He wasn’t tall, only 1.75 ters, but his upper body was stout and solid, and he had a very stable base.
The Venezuelan defensive midfielder’s specialty was tight-marking and physical battles.
The mont he saw Wang Shuo hook the ball away, his first instinct was to close in. He slamd his right shoulder into Wang Shuo’s left, trying to muscle him off the ball.
At the very least, he hoped to disrupt Wang Shuo’s footwork and create an opportunity to steal the ball.
This was his specialty.
And he did, in fact, succeed.
As he collided with Wang Shuo, Wang Shuo was montarily thrown off balance.
But thanks to the combined effects of [Coordination] and [Foundation], Wang Shuo quickly regained his balance. He simultaneously channeled all his strength into his left shoulder and instantly shoved back.
Thomas Lincon, having just exerted his own force, hadn’t had ti to recover. He was unexpectedly shoved aside by Wang Shuo, nearly stumbling to the ground.
Wang Shuo knocked the ball forward with one touch, dug in his feet, and accelerated past Thomas Lincon, charging straight down the middle.
"A beautiful breakthrough down the middle!"
"Wang Shuo carries the ball forward on a quick counter-attack for Dortmund!"
"Let’s see if this leads to a chance!"
"Wang Shuo on the run, full-back Ogo moves to intercept—but Wang Shuo feints and he’s right past him!"
"He’s beaten another man!"
"Wang Shuo keeps going!"
At the Arc Top District, as Wang Shuo made his breakthrough past Ogo, Mathijsen rushed over to intercept.
But Wang Shuo ca to a sudden stop, cut the ball to his left foot, and shifted left, getting past Mathijsen while still keeping the ball glued to his feet.
"That’s the third man he’s beaten, and Wang Shuo is still going!"
Wang Shuo dribbled straight at Jero Boateng.
Boateng was inside the Arc Top District and had already retreated to the line of the penalty area. He had no more room to backpedal.
The center-back gritted his teeth and decided to stand his ground, determined to block Wang Shuo’s path.
As Wang Shuo charged into his defensive zone, Thomas Lincon and Mathijsen closed in from both sides to form a pincer.
The three Hamburg defenders ford a triangle, trapping Wang Shuo within the Arc Top District.
Just as the three of them were about to sandwich him, Wang Shuo suddenly slipped a deft diagonal pass with his left foot.
The ball slipped between Boateng and Mathijsen, gently rolling toward the right of the penalty spot.
Until that mont, all eyes had been on Wang Shuo.
Even the Hamburg defenders failed to notice that Götze was completely unmarked.
The young Dortmund star unleashed a powerful shot, sending the ball straight into Hamburg’s goal.
Rost was left completely helpless.
Götze turned and ran to celebrate!
"My God!"
"I can’t believe my eyes! Wang Shuo launched that counter-attack single-handedly, beat three defenders, drew the attention of the entire defense, and then laid the ball off to a wide-open Götze."
"Just when Dortmund’s defense looked on the verge of collapse, Wang Shuo broke through the press, assisted Götze, and added another goal for Dortmund!"
"4-1!"
The entire Westfalen Stadium erupted in a frenzy!
Three minutes after Götze’s goal, with Hamburg on the attack once more, Dortmund launched another quick counter.
Wang Shuo made a brilliant pass to Götze, who then assisted Grosskreutz for the fifth goal.
5-1!
By now, the match was in its 76th minute.
Dortmund had sealed the victory!
