There was no shrapnel or explosive force, no visible injury—but thick, choking smoke billowed outward in an instant, completely engulfing Lucas.

On the other side, Pale had finally closed the distance with Kenta, who thrust his left hand forward in what looked like a simple jab, but the bladed edge of Kenta’s tonfa ca with it, slashing straight for Pale’s throat.
