Bang!!!!
This ti, the shot rang out far louder, as a highly compressed blood round tore through the air as Alec fired with sharp precision and the mont it struck Dragov in the chest, the difference was clear.
This wasn’t like the previous shots, the impact launched Dragov into the air, sending him flying backward.
A mont later, Dragov manipulated the surrounding wind, using pressure to stabilize himself mid-air before descending back to the ground, when he landed, he glanced down at his chest.
Blood was gushing out, and for the first ti since the battle began he had been properly injured.
Even the combination of his wind veil and dragon scales hadn’t been enough to fully stop that attack.
Fortunately for him, those two layers of defense had still reduced the damage significantly, so the shot hadn’t pierced all the way through his body; he lifted his head and looked at Alec, a faint smile forming on his face, almost as if to say: I’m still standing.
“You know, Dragov, fighting was never the most important thing in this battle.” Alec said calmly,
“You have just been acting like you want to defeat properly... that you’ve already lost sight of what this battle format is really about.” Alec paused briefly before finishing—
“The format is about who controls the most rune points.”
Dragov frowned, clearly confused as to why Alec was saying this now, until Alec suddenly glanced toward a nearby rooftop.
“Brandon... the fish is on the hook.” The mont those words left his mouth, the ground beneath Dragov suddenly collapsed, and sand began to swirl violently, forming a vortex that tried to drag him downward.
On the rooftop, where Brandon stood he had stretched out his left hand towards Dragov, just like how he had his right hand facing Damien’s position, controlling the trap from afar.
At that mont, he was effectively restraining two of the Bloodline Academy’s strongest mages at once, but Damien had already finished preparing his spell.
As he raised his hand toward Brandon’s position, before he activated it—

Despite the fact that he was almost drowning in the quicksand, Damien managed to raise his hand high enough to point at Brandon, as a blood brand manifested in the air,
and in a swift motion, it streaked through the air toward where Brandon stood, but then Endrick appeared in front of him, and the blood brand latched onto Endrick instead.
Brandon frowned at the sight, he knew this was Endrick’s last life, yet even without knowing what the spell did, Endrick had made that final move to shield him.
