Now reading: Chapter 278: Jungle Battle Part 1 from The Golem Mage, a Action novel by mystic dark.

Terran frowned deeply, completely caught off guard by the sudden summoning of phantom images by all five mages.

He had never believed they would summoned there Phantom Characters against a weaker Mage in the academy premises

He was confident that he could handle two Tier 8 mages at their full strength, but facing five proved to be an overwhelming challenge beyond his capabilities.

The following scene depicted Terran, who had been on the offensive since the start of the fight, transitioning to a defensive stance.

Instead of launching counterattacks, he patiently bided his ti, waiting for a vulnerable opening that would allow him to strike a fatal blow, as he believed there Team work ain’t perfect.

Unfortunately, the leading mage seed to be one step ahead, foreseeing Terran’s plans.

And Every arrow shot was aid at obstructing him or ensuring he couldn’t initiate an attack, that would break the seemly fragile Team work they were trying to perfect.

Once the leading mage summoned his Phantom Image, the Flaming Eagle, his attacks beca more precise and devastating.

Each arrow that flew after the summoning inflicted serious injuries on Terran, though not yet fatal.

However, if the battle continued in this manner, there was a very real possibility that Terran would succumb to his wounds, after loosing a lot of blood.

"If it weren’t for these two swordsn blocking my path, you would be the first mage I kill here," Terran declared, blood trickling down his face.

His armor runes were already activated again, providing so assistance in withstanding the assault.

If not Without the Armour’s aid, he wouldn’t have survived for so long against the relentless attacks of nurous mages in the (low) Tier 8 Mage realm.

"Your thoughts an nothing to ; you’re nothing but prey on my chopping block," the leading mage taunted back.

Terran and the two swordsn engaged in a fierce exchange of blows.

While Terran once held a clear advantage with his superior sword techniques, the augntation the two Magic Swordsn got from their elental sword Phantom Images now leveled the playing field, allowing them to fight Terran on equally grounds not loosing to his superior sword techniques.

Despite their increased speed, Terran skillfully parried their every move with his great sword.

Terran had to be incredibly careful and heighten his senses to the fullest due to the weight of his Great Sword, since he didn’t have the speed of there sword he had to be really cautious.

Not only did he have to defend against the attacks of the magic swordsn, but he also had to watch out for the malicious arrows shot by the leading Archer Mage, who took pleasure in sniping him down.

Additionally, the two supporting magic path mages intermittently struck spells at Terran whenever they got the chance.

Sweat poured down Terran’s face as the battle continued.

Despite fighting for less than fifteen minutes, it felt much longer to him.

Exhaustion still weighed heavily on him.

While The Centaur Prince, who had initially shown interest in helping Terran, now seed more engrossed in sothing else.

He leisurely levitated in the air, observing Terran’s struggle to find a weakness in the coordinated attacks of the other mages.

To Terran’s dismay, he never expected that the Centaur Prince would derive such pleasure from watching humans fight.

The exhilaration he felt just from being a spectator surprised him.

anwhile, Alec and his gang had just finished hunting down another small pack of wolves, this ti lucky enough to encounter an Alpha Wolf.

Alec had managed to land the final blow this Ti, requesting that the alpha’s body be kept intact for he had soone interested in purchasing the entire body.

Jas, aware of the market for dead beasts and with the limited space in Alec’s storage ring, he expressed concerns about taking so many wolf bodies, when Alec could just let them

He doubted Alec would profit significantly from it, taking the full body.

However, Alec dismissed Jas’ advice, seemingly driven by his own motives for preserving the whole body, he was only doing this because of the system instruction and he was rather not interested in testing the system.

"We’ve killed so many wolves this ti that if we sell them at the exchange counter, black market, or the armory, we’ll make a fortune that could sustain us for over a month,"

the female mage riding the fox mount exclaid.

The expression of joy on her face made Alec realize just how valuable the things they held were, but he was still interested in changing them to spirit set than selling them for cash.

When Arthur heard her comnt, he looked at Alec with expectation, as if asking how they would divide their earnings from selling the wolves.

"Don’t even think about getting a cent from this, Instead, I’m planning on using the money for sothing else," Alec replied

causing Arthur to grumble in displeasure, Arthur had been daydreaming about the money he hadn’t even received yet and how he would spend it on new robes and magical artifacts.

Watching Kethra reveal one magical artifact after another, and surprising everyone, only made Arthur long for the sa things.

"If you keep dreaming about artifacts, I promise you, even if you had money, you’d beco a pauper before you knew it, You wouldn’t even be able to afford a decent low-ranked artifact,"

Agnes teased, as if she could already see through Arthur’s thoughts.

They all shared a laugh, including the mages from Jas’ group.

Despite feeling like they had earned a lot from their recent adventures,Due to their hunting speed having increased after teaming up with Alec, his siblings, and his golems, they weren’t as well-off as raiders like Kethra.

They also lacked a great instructor like Kethra who provided him with power stones to spend.

They were sowhere in the middle, not too broke but not too rich either.

And They always prioritized cultivating materials over artifacts.

"Master... I sense the aura of mages nearby, and they’re closing in on us quickly, From the aura, I’ve identified one as Kethra, the mage who led the previous attack," Legion suddenly spoke up

shocking all the mages present, While Alec wasn’t too surprised, considering he could detect things within a ten-ter radius, he knew that Legion surpassed his abilities.

Legion, being a robotic golem, had sensors that could monitor a heat map spanning over a hundred ters.

This ant he had a much wider range than Alec.

With Legion’s ssage, it now seed that Kethra had sought out new allies to confront them.

"How certain are your golem’s findings?" Jas asked, his face filled with concern.

"I would say 100%, Legion is even more sensitive than I am, If he’s already detected them, it ans Kethra and whoever he’s bringing are closer than we think, We’ll have to move quickly," Alec replied confidently.

He trusted Legion’s abilities more than his own newly awakened powers.

"In that case, we all need to leave here swiftly!" Agnes exclaid.

"No, if we all escape, they’ll only be able to track us faster, All of you find your way back to the human city, I don’t think we need to go to the Abyss battlefield again, Our mission has been compromised"

" and I’m certain Kethra knows we’re heading there, and it would not be good to play into his hands."

" While you go, I’ll try to divert their attention and throw them off your trail with the help of my golems," Alec declared, stopping Agnes’ suggestion instantly.

"No, Alec, you can’t do that, We need to leave together," Arthur pleaded, coming closer. But Alec shook his head.

"Believe in , brother, Sothing needs to be done, and I’m the best one to do it. Don’t worry, I promise to make it back to all of you," Alec reassured them.

"Well, I suppose I should stay too and help you get rid of them," Jas said with determination.

"No... I need soone knowledgeable about this forest to lead them out, and you’re the only one who fits that description. Please accompany my siblings once more. Don’t be annoyed, because I know we’ve stressed you a lot on this job," Alec said, persuading Jas.

"If it makes you feel better, just know that I plan to personally compensate you from our loot," Alec added.

"No, that won’t be necessary! And I promise to deliver your siblings to safety," Jas promised sincerely.
