Now reading: Chapter 289: Outer Region Overlords (Final) from The Golem Mage, a Action novel by mystic dark.

After a few minutes of intense fighting, every mage and golems present found themselves writhing in pain on the ground.

In Astrid’s group, they had already lost five mages, leaving them with only seven mages left.

Alec couldn’t help but wonder how the Barrier Mage had managed to survive thus far.

Beside him, Titan’s right hand was completely destroyed, but he defiantly held a massive ice shield in his left hand, standing protectively in front of Alec.

His unwavering determination to defend Alec was evident, even at the cost of sacrificing his own hand.

"I hate to admit it, but your little toys seem to be more useful than my team of mages, despite their lower realm," Astrid remarked, gripping a lightning bolt tightly, despite his hand being scalded by its power.

He paid no attention to his injuries, his gaze fixed on the nacing Root that continued to glare at them.

They had exhausted every strategy, but all their attempts had only resulted in failure.

Alec snorted, disregarding Astrid’s statent, as he looked upon his weary team of Golems.

As he contemplated the daunting task of restoring Them to their forr peak, a frown creased Alec’s face.

"Who should I kill next, I wonder?" the Root mused darkly.

The root sneered as its attention shifted towards Alec’s group.

Despite the visible damage they had endured, there were no casualties among them.

"It’s you, If I kill you, these annoying creatures crafted from elents will beco useless," the root declared, finally focusing on Alec after growing tired of tornting Astrid’s group.

The mages had given up, simply trying to survive longer than their companions in the hopes of finding an opportunity to escape.

And The root grew bored of their lack of resistance, turning its malicious gaze towards Alec.

"This arrogant fool!, He uses the forest as an excuse, but I doubt the Overlord Divine Tree even knows that one of its root branches is slaughtering mages for fun, No wonder he doesn’t want anyone to escape," the Spirit System Golem cursed in anger.

Enraged, the root commanded three vine-like extensions, shaped like deadly swords, and sent them hurtling towards Alec.

The golems, positioned all around, desperately tried to intercept, only to realize that the vines’ speed increased slightly, effortlessly bypassing their defenses.

Within a few ters, they were dangerously close to reaching Alec.

"Don’t you dare!"

A slightly husky voice echoed through the air, causing Alec, who had lost all hope, to break into a smile.

Suddenly, the atmosphere grew heavier, and the vines that had been advancing towards Alec froze in mid-air and crashed loudly onto the ground, as if a massive weight had been dropped.

"Master!"

Alec exclaid, his eyes widening as he saw Terran gracefully descending from above. Explore more stories at .Côm

The Root, noticing Terran’s presence, contorted its wooden face in annoyance, commanding the Treant behind it to hurl massive rocks at Terran.

But just as the Treant prepared to throw, Terran waved his hand, and the rocks in their grasp transford into gigantic stone locks.

Instantly, the weight of the locks caused the Treant to lose their balance, their hands immobilized as if trapped by the cuffs made of stone.

"How dare you ddle in the affairs of the Overlord Divine Tree! I know who you are, Terran Dunce, the genius Mage from the War God Mage Academy. Do not seek trouble you cannot handle," the root sneered, realizing that it had no ans of harming Terran whatsoever, so he used the Divine Tree na to frighten Terran.

"Oh, shut up,"

Terran retorted, dismissing the root’s attempts to defend itself.

"I was worried that my student may have offended the main body Divine Tree, but I never expected him to offend a lowly Root branch like you."

"And you dare to try and take his life? It seems that in my absence from this space passage , the newly born creatures that was created have forgotten what fear truly is," Terran proclaid, extending his hand forward and gathering earth elents from the air to form a formidable Stone sword.

"Don’t do it, Killing will only anger the Overlord Divine Tree, and you will have no way back," the root pleaded, attempting to dissuade Terran from attacking.

Since Terran’s arrival, he had been increasingly unruly and dismissive, disregarding even the strongest of opponents.

Now, he stood on the edge of killing the root.

While the root trembled in fear of death, the nearby mages were also filled with dread.

They couldn’t believe their eyes, for before them stood Terran Dunce, the esteed Earth Elentalist Mage of there Academy.

Despite his current restraints, the mages knew Terran’s reputation and the power .

Realizing that Terran was the master of the very mage they had been attempting to eliminate struck fear into their hearts.

They feared that once Terran learned of their actions against his disciple, he wouldn’t stop with just dealing with the roots.

"I know the Divine Tree well, and unlike other Overlords, he despises unnecessary conflict," Terran declared, his words echoing with authority.

"So, don’t even attempt to deceive , I am familiar with your main body, and simply awakening a consciousness after being separated doesn’t make you special in any way."

" I’ve encountered branches released by the divine tree before, Your current predicant is solely a result of your own bad luck. Regardless of what unfolds today, nothing can save you from death after displaying such malicious intent towards my disciple,"

Terran declared, wielding his sword with such force that it caused a small explosion.

The slash of his sword decimated everything in its path, leaving only a fragnt of the roof intact.

The destruction of the wood woad and the Treant accentuated Kethra’s frown, intensifying his desire to vanish from that very spot.

The fact that they were saved did not bring Kethra much solace, as Terran’s last statent also applied to their group.

"You shall regret this," the Injured root managed to say before swiftly burrowing into the ground and retreating.

"Why didn’t you kill the root right away, Master?" Alec inquired, seeking an explanation for Terran’s decision.

"ohhh I was just bluffing there, For one, it is currently weakened, Eliminating it would alert the Divine Tree of my involvent. I already have the Orcs hunting down, and I certainly don’t need any additional repercussions from the Plant overlord," Terran explained.

"Secondly, killing a branch of the Divine Tree is no simple task, It undoubtedly possesses ample life essence to heal itself, Don’t be fooled by its pitiful appearance; it’s likely just a ploy to deceive ."

"But, as I ntioned earlier, its a newly awaken consciousness and poses no threat to . It is incapable of moving ," Terran stated confidently, his gaze shifting towards Astrid’s group.

"Did Igor send you all here to handle his dirty work?" Terran asked, already forming another earth sword.

However, Alec intervened and held his arms.

"No, Master. I wish to confront them on my own, I promise to beco stronger and take care of them myself, I refuse to be the kind of disciple who relies solely on their master," Alec declared determinedly.

Terran’s hand slowly lowered as he observed his disciple intently.

After a mont of careful consideration, he nodded.

"Very well, if that’s what you want."

Terran levitated back into the air, bringing Alec and his golem along.

He couldn’t help but be surprised when he noticed the presence of Nine golems connected to Alec.

However, he knew that now was not the ti to ask questions.

He scolded himself internally for not being aware of his disciple’s true techniques.

Astrid and Kethra let out sighs of relief as Terran departed.

They felt as though they had narrowly escaped death the mont Terran laid his eyes on them monts ago.

The sheer despair in his gaze was enough to make them tremble.

Astrid couldn’t help but feel the urge to puml Kethra for involving them in an attack on Terran’s disciples.

Everyone in the academy was well aware of Terran’s intense rage whenever his disciples were hard or killed.

Astrid could only express gratitude that Alec proved to be strong enough to survive.

Otherwise, Astrid knew he would have had a grim fate awaiting him if aleec died.
