Now reading: Chapter 358: Behind The Helmet from The Golem Mage, a Action novel by mystic dark.

anwhile, back at the Abyss, the commanding Guard removed his helt, revealing his face, as he raised his hand in a swiping gesture just as the Tier 7 orc prepared to strike.

His movent caused a gentle breeze to passed through, and to everyone’s surprise, the orc’s attack disappeared before it could be unleashed.

"How long do you plan on hiding?, Co out already," the Guard taunted.

"Your setup may be deceiving, but if you want to convince that you intend to conquer a human city with just one Tier 7 Mage, then you clearly don’t take your ambitions seriously, Orc Commander Grimgore."

The Guard, with his face fully revealed, spoke with confidence, like he truly was sure the person he called was responsible for the attacks on the academy based city.

While many struggled to rember who he was, there were a select few who were still hiding close to the gates and recognized him instantly.

"Wait, am I hallucinating, or isn’t that the short man we always saw at the counter of the War God Mage Armoury?"

Arthur questioned, pointing towards the man who was now dressed in a black guard uniform.

The entire group tried to recall his face, only to realize that Arthur was correct.

Their perplexity now focused on how he had seemingly grown taller.

Before they could respond to Arthur’s comnt, they witnessed him being hurled towards a specific location by a strong wind.

"You’re the one who’s short, you fucker! I’ll deal with you too, just like your master,"

The short man who was dressed in the guards armour exclaid, as he flicker his finger and sending Arthur crashing into the ground.

Arthur was buried up to his neck, with only his head visible. Beside him lay soone he imdiately recognized.

Seeing his familiar acquaintance in the sa predicant left Arthur speechless and stunned.

He couldn’t tear his gaze away from the person before the rest of the gang arrived at the scene.

"Master!" they all exclaid in unison as they spotted their leader trapped in the ground.

It was in that mont they truly grasped the fact that the short man who always haggled with them over prices at the counter possessed even greater strength than their esteed master, and who they held in high regard.

"Why are you looking at like that?, I had no way of defending myself, That old bastard is as strong as old man Alfred, They belong to the old generation, You can’t expect to be able to defeat everyone just because there are rumours about my strength being excess," Terran said, his voice muffled due to his predicant

Agnes desperately attempted to convince herself that Terran was rely teaching them to show respect to their seniors.

However, after pondering deeply, she realized that her master was most likely indirectly praising himself, implying that he was the greatest genius of his generation.

"So, master, what’s the plan?, How do we escape from here?" Arthur finally voiced his impatience.

Terran stared at him for a few seconds before bursting into a fit of laughter.

"Who the fuck do you think locked us in here?, If he doesn’t want us to leave, we won’t be getting out. Let’s just hope he’s in a good mood after dealing with the city’s problems. I bla my loose tongue for my predicant. I should have known better," Terran lanted, turning his gaze towards Arthur.

"How the hell did you end up offending that malicious man in the first place?" Terran inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"Well, I sort of blurted out that he’s a short man... Ahhh!" Arthur’s words were cut off by an intense pain that spread throughout his body, as if he were being pricked by needles. Experience exclusive tales on .Côm

"(Laughs) You idiot! Don’t you know that the thing he hates most is being disrespected because of his height?, You shouldn’t even ntion it, even if it’s true," Terran lectured.

However, Agnes interrupted with a question of her own, leaving Terran montarily silenced.

"So, what got you into this situation, master? We now know never to make the sa mistake as Arthur, but it can’t be that you, who was aware of it, ended up being punished as well for it right? ," Agnes asked.

"Nah, that’s not it," Terran nervously responded as he reminisced about a few monts earlier when he had barged into the armoury, trying to persuade the short man behind the counter to give him a discount on a tracking talisman.

The short man had been hell-bent on ripping off Terran, overpricing the talisman by more than fifty percent.

Although Terran had initially intended to find it elsewhere, it turned out that only the short man had that particular talisman.

In the heat of the mont, Terran blurted out the words "short man," which resulted in him being buried without the talisman and having his power stones stolen.

"That old thief was being completely unreasonable by putting here," Terran tried to explain to his student until he felt a surge of pain throughout his body, except for his head, mirroring Arthur’s experience.

Despite his efforts to hold it in, the pain beca unbearable.

"what the fuck! You shor... You sweet man," Terran exclaid, biting his tongue just in ti to stop himself from saying "short" again.

Agnes looked at him with strange eyes that seed to convey an understanding of why he was buried as well.

Although Terran understood her, he couldn’t care less at that mont of what she thought about him, as he focused on finding so relief from the pain.

’That despicable man didn’t just steal from ; he is also still spying on us from afar, Only God knows why he’s always interested in eavesdropping, I’m sure he knows a lot of secrets within the city,’ Terran thought, frustrated by the short man’s actions.

Agnes shifted her attention to the rest of the group, more interested in addressing another matter than dwelling on the fact that both her master and clansman had provoked the sa old man and for the sa reason.

"Don’t you think we should have parted ways? Last ti I checked, we’ve already fulfilled Alec’s promise to you all, after all we’ve brought you all the way to the city, despite so accidents along the way. I’m sure we can all agree on that,"

"That accident happened solely because of the stupidity of your leader," Agnes added, unapologetic about her choice of words, her words delivered harshly, disregarding the feelings of those she may have hurt.

If it was before pale would have been mad but now Pale just grinned, having regained his composure and feeling unperturbed by Agnes.

He realized that it was Alec whom he disliked and couldn’t get along with all this ti, and he had no qualms against the Gordons clansn.

On the contrary, he felt they were one of the best groups, displaying courage by facing Tier 3 and above lifeforms while still being Tier 2.

Their bravery was comndable to anyone who truly understood how the group operated.

Pale could only daydream about having a team like the Gordons clansn.

He felt If he had such a supportive group of clansn like Alec, he believed that he too could have made significant strides like Alec in the Abyss.
