In a secluded area of the War God Mage Academy, Igor stood behind the figure who was shrouded by a small blue cloud fog, concealing his identity.
Igor had always been the one to receive orders from the appointed leader of the Faction, yet he remained oblivious to the leader's true identity.
"Santos will be punished for his actions at the arena, ensure that his punishnt serves as a stark reminder of his wrongdoing," the disguised man spoke, prompting surprise in Igor.
"I thought you would be outraged by the New Dean's punishnt of making Santos compensate and having him go into self reflect, but it seems you are actually planning on punishing him as well, however, Santos only acted to defend his disciple, as no one would want to witness their disciple to die," Igor attempted to defend Santos' actions, understanding that Santos had acted to save Orion.
"Are you questioning my orders, Igor? You should rember that the Faction was created with the goal of restoring the War God Mage Academy to its forr glory as one of the prestigious top eight academies," the leader of the Faction responded, his voice muffled by the fast-paced speech.
"We ford the Faction because we believed the Dean's old thods were no longer beneficial for the academy, we are not here to kill off geniuses that have the potential to elevate the academy to new heights, yes, we exert our influence, but it is to slowly bring the rest of the academy under our command, if he can't deal with his disciple's failure he should just get punished instead " the leader explained, surprising even Igor.
It was the first ti he had seen the leader so agitated, his emotions running wild, and Igor was certain he was furious.
"What about Alec?, what are we going to do about him? He has caused us nurous problems. He should have been dead long ago, but he just keeps eluding us!" Igor ntioned Alec, gritting his teeth.
The mory of throwing Alec into the Abyss, hoping for his demise, resurfaced, however, not only had Alec and his fellow clansn survived, but he had also flourished and made remarkable advancents ever since.
It resulted in Igor's own father reprimanding him, if there was anyone who desired Alec's demise more than anyone else, it was him.
"No harm must co to Alec from the faction, and that is final, now, leave —I wish to be alone," the leader of the Faction declared, his figure soon shrouded in fog.
Igor, on the other hand, was aggrieved, because as long as the elected leader of the Faction was protecting Alec and opposed any assassination attempts against him, Igor feared that Alec would only grow stronger and beco another thorn in their neck like his master Terran.
He couldn't understand why the leader would want to protect Alec, but for now, he decided to follow orders and stepped out of the room.

Alec and his team stood before a throng of mages from the War God Mage Academy as the Dean addressed the crowd. He spoke of how they were chosen to represent the academy, and that Major Selene would be overseeing their campaign in the capital.
The Dean also bestowed a na upon the team—they were dubbed the "9 Stars, 1 Moon, and 1 Sun" of the War God Mage Academy.
Alec was the Sun, Beatrice the Moon, and the rest of the team were the Stars.
It was a cheesy na, but it resonated well with the crowd.
"Make us proud!" the Dean urged Alec, placing a hand on his shoulder.
As he gave a nod to Selene, then waved his hand, conjuring a unique door-like fra, and placing two fingers on his fore-head, a swirling portal materialized within the fra.
"Go!" he commanded.
Selene stepped through first, followed by Alec, with the team proceeding one by one through the Dean's spatial door.
As Alec and the rest of the team passed through the door, they felt a strong force pulling them through space, and the next mont, they could feel their feet landing on a solid surface.
Alec looked ahead and saw the city walls of the capital before him.
It was his second visit here, but this ti he was not as vulnerable as before, so when he sensed the heightened environntal mana, he was not as startled as during his first visit.
"Let's go, the academy has already arranged accommodations for us," Selene announced.
"Well, thank God I already had a feeling that we might have to stay on the streets for a while," Pale said as he tapped his chest.
"What do you an by that?" Agnes questioned as they walked into the city, with Selene having paid for their entrance fee.
"Take a look around you" Pale said as Agnes looked at the crowed street
" Whenever it's ti for the inter-academy competition, the capital becos fully occupied, It becos extrely difficult to find accommodation, and even so academy mbers participating are forced to stay on the streets during this period, However, there is also a benefit to living in the greatest Arena of the Northern Kingdom," Pale explained.
"And that is, if we even manage to enter the Top 8 competition!" Pale clarified for the team mbers who were not aware of the circumstances in the capital.
He began to realize that, except for Beatrice, the rest of the team were not accustod to city life. And he felt he would have to guide them through the ways of the capital.
Though Lucas also ca from an ancient clan like him, but it was from the central kingdom, and their customs were clearly more barbaric compared to those of the northern kingdom.
Therefore, the ways of the northern kingdom were also a challenge for Lucas.
"Well, thankfully, the War God Mage Academy had so foundations in the capital when it was still a powerhouse academy recognized by all, though it has lost face and ranking now, we can still pull so small strings here and there occasionally," Selene explained as they finally arrived at the inn where they would be staying.
"Yeah, great strings they can pull," Pale uttered in disappointnt.
The inn they were going to stay in clearly looked rundown, but what could he do? The team didn't have any other options unless they wanted to stay on the streets and hope for victory to secure better accommodations in the capital's Arena Inn.
"Major, we have been waiting for you!" The receptionist Mage bowed her head in respect as Selene entered, before greeting each mber of the team.
At that mont, Alec realized what Selene ant by pulling strings.
The inn actually belonged to the Academy, as aside from the workers moving things, there was no one else in the inn.
Alec montarily entertained the idea that the inn might be a secret spy organization planted in the capital by the War God Mage Academy.
However, he quickly dismissed the thought, realizing that he was too weak to delve into such conspiracies.
"Look around and choose any room you want. Use this ti to cultivate and adjust your mind set. Tomorrow, the competition begins," Selene instructed, and the entire team nodded in agreent.
