575: Persistent.

575: Persistent.

“Wait!

You don’t all have to be so resistant, we can settle this amicably, instructor Phil and Jasper are only trying to help the team progress further,” the Dean pleaded, attempting to find a compromise.

“I understand that as a team, you have the right to voice your concerns about who works with you, however, you need to consider their help, especially Jasper.”

“He has a keen eye and can provide valuable analysis and insights on a higher level, allowing you to take advantage of strategic opportunities,” the Dean explained, trying to emphasize the potential benefits of having the Instructors on the team.

“If you don’t mind, just let him be part of the team, he won’t interfere too much, but rather offer a few suggestions for the line-up.”

“ Now, don’t tell you’re willing to miss out on these benefits just because an unfamiliar person will be deciding who fights first,” the Dean said, directing his gaze towards Alec.

His eyes seem to convey a ssage to Alec, urging him to think about the team as a whole.

Although Beatrice had been leading the protest, the Dean was quick to notice the respect they showed Alec.

The Dean realized that if Alec accepted the instructors involvent, the rest of the team would likely follow suit.

“We will accept him, but make sure he understands that his input on the team carries weight, and if we feel uncomfortable with his decisions, we won’t hesitate to disregard his orders,” Alec stated, firmly asserting the team’s autonomy.

“Well, as long as you accept him, that is all that matters,” the Dean replied, a smile forming on his face.

He felt relieved, as he believed he had overco a major hurdle.

As the current leader of the War God Academy, he had to ensure they were willing to accommodate the other two instructors, as the rules of the inter-academy competition dictated.

Failure to do so could potentially lead to complications down the line for the instructors.

“since that is already sorted, now it’s ti for all of you to make your requests.

Now tell , what is it that you want or desire from the academy that you believe would enhance your combat abilities and potentially contribute to our victory tomorrow?” the Dean inquired once again, prompting the team to express their wishes, as Selene was starting to look at him like a desperate person.

“Simple, I just need assistance in obtaining a spirit equipnt set and a few Tier 5 cultivation pills, the pills are especially crucial.”

“ If I could have around fifteen to twenty of them, I’m confident that I can make another minor breakthrough, and It won’t be long before I advance to the next realm,” Pale stated, his hands resting on his cheeks as if deep in thought.

At that mont, the Dean fixed his gaze upon Pale, his lips twitching.

The two instructors standing beside him both pointed towards Pale as if they wanted to scold him, though they struggled to find the right words to convey their disapproval.

“Hmm, young man, do you have any idea what a Spirit equipnt set entails?

I wouldn’t even dare to attempt creating one even for the captain of your team, let alone soone like you who rely serves as cannon fodder,” the Dean retorted, finally finding the words to dismiss Pale’s request.

“Well, those leading eight academies were able to provide their teams with customized Tier 5 spirit clothes, while our academy only managed to offer custom-made spirit clothes at the Tier 3 level, which barely does anything, I rely asked, as you requested, but I had no clue that the academy was in such a financial crisis that it couldn’t fulfil its promises,” Pale swiftly voiced his disappointnt, not holding back his frustration at the Dean’s reaction.

Observing the Dean’s expression, Pale had a sense that whatever gift they were to receive would be ager.

With this realization, he decided to let go of any expectations regarding the Dean’s planned offering.

“What’s with these outrageous demands?

Do you think cultivation pills just rain down from the sky?

You’re only in the Tier 4 realm and already asking for Tier 5 cultivation pills.

We don’t have an abundance of alchemists working for the academy, and even if we did, they wouldn’t squander the academy’s resources on crafting mid-rank pills unless they were Tier 6 ntality pills,” the Dean said, displaying surprise at their audacious requests.

“Wait, so you an you can’t even provide us with Tier 5 cultivation pills?” Endrick, who had remained relatively silent, as he was trying to show his respect to the Dean, couldn’t help but question.

‘What the heck is going through these kids’ minds?

Are they trying to run dry?

I was hoping they would request armour or weapons instead.

My salary wouldn’t even co close to covering the cost of twenty pills if they were to be distributed to each of them,’ the Dean thought, looking at Endrick and shaking his head in disbelief.

Witnessing this exchange, the entire team instinctively turned towards Alec, realizing once again the preciousness and rarity of the pills he had been providing for them.

Seeing the team’s gaze fixated on Alec, the Dean began to suspect that Alec had been the one who influenced them to request for cultivation pills.

He found it hard to believe that any of them would have access to such an abundance of Tier 5 cultivation pills.

As even the ancient clans only provided such pills to their core and chosen geniuses, and even then, in smaller quantities so they could purify their foundation and eliminate impurities.

No ancient clan would exhaust their treasury solely to raise their descendants through the use of cultivation pills alone.

Since cultivation pills are not considered a necessity until the high ranks they only tried to provide little, providing them to their Descendants at an early stage allowed them to gain an advantage over mages from lower, mid, and even so high-tier clans.

The pills helped to cleanse their impurities, allowing them to experience better results in their cultivation.

As a result, their mana veins expanded slightly, making it easier for them to cultivate faster and store more mana.

Coupled with their access to abundant resources and favourable cultivation grounds, the gap between their abilities and those of other clans only widened.

Seeing the team mbers requesting sothing that even ancient clans would only grant to their core mbers and in limited quantities, the Dean wondered if they were simply ssing with him, after being possibly influenced by Alec.

“Just ask for sothing reasonable.

I’ll go back to the match and inquire about what the rest of the team wants,” Alec said to the others, visibly showing his boredom.

The Dean could easily perceive his lack of interest.

Although the Dean knew that Alec had not personally requested anything to test the extent of what he could provide, he just couldn’t pinpoint why Alec seems to lack interest towards his offer.

But he failed to realize that his inability to fulfil the request for cultivation pills had already rendered his gifts irrelevant in Alec’s eyes.

“What is it that you truly desire?” the Dean asked, prepared to fulfil any request Alec asked within his power.

However, Alec turned back, shaking his head.

“Clearly, you cannot obtain what I want, I will just have to obtain it myself,” Alec responded, indicating his lack of faith in the Dean’s ability to et his desires.

“And you were able to confirm that after the questions they asked, right?

I suspected that you influenced them to request cultivation pills.”

“ Well, I’m not sure what you truly desire, but there must be sothing that you want, ask for sothing you believe I have the power to obtain.

You can’t definitely tell there is nothing you want that I can’t get,” the Dean asserted determinedly.

Although the Dean wrongly assud that Alec had influenced the team to ask for cultivation pills, but Alec couldn’t be bothered to correct him.

Moreover, Selene had never divulged to the Dean about Alec’s provisions for the team, wanting to keep it a secret for Alec.

Thus, the Dean remained oblivious to the reason behind the team’s nonchalant request for cultivation pills.

“Now that I think about it, there is sothing I truly desire at the mont, and I believe you have the ans to obtain it for !” Alec finally declared with a smile, in which the Dean reciprocated with a smile of his own, as he felt he had finally cracked Alec’s cold demure.

However, Brandon, who had witnessed that particular smile from Alec far too many tis when he was about to sche sothing out of his grandfather, was certain that the Dean was about to face so consequences for pestering Alec about what he wanted.
