Seeing Yama finally make his move, Alec responded in kind, as he stomped his right foot into the ground and shifted into a stance as he moved his whole body forward.

As if answering his call, three enormous earth boulders levitated behind him, as though they had been uprooted from the ground.

The eyes of the audience were all on Alec, eager to see how he would counter the rapidly approaching Yama, who was lunging at him with his Naginata spear aid at his midsection.

It was clear that Yama’s weapon was targeting Alec’s torso, intending to pierce through his stance with a thrust attack.

“Fall!” Alec commanded, dragging his right hand downward as if pulling sothing unseen.

And in the next mont, the crowd watched in awe as one of the boulders behind him seed to respond to his command, hurtling towards the charging Yama as if being pulled by invisible hands.

Yama, who was on the verge of attacking Alec, was caught off guard by the boulder sent at him in the last split second.

As Yama had charged towards Alec, he wore a smug smirk, assuming he could catch Alec off guard before Alec even thought of attacking.

However, as Alec finally made his move, Yama realized why Alec had delayed his actions.

Because if Alec had sent the boulder hurtling towards him earlier, Yama could have easily evaded it with his speed, tilting to the side to avoid the attack and swiftly returning to his mission course of thrusting towards Alec and he would have done this without losing any of his montum.

But now, with the delayed impact from Alec, Yama found himself in a difficult position as he was too close and had used too much speed while lunging for Alec, leaving him little room to evade or dodge the attack, and now he had to face the attack head on.

The opposing forces cancelled each other out, leaving the situation at a standstill.

“Hmm, it appears that even now they remain evenly matched, despite their occasional advantages over each other, both of them must realize that they cannot win if they continue fighting in this manner.” Mused the Grand Elder of the Marionette clan, as she continued to observe the intense duel.

Alec frowned as he witnessed the boulder strike that he had twerked being neutralized, his spell options were dwindling, and desperation crept in.

“I suppose there’s no other choice,” Alec muttered to himself, shifting into a stance.

Retrieving the Changdao from his waist, he grasped it loosely with his left hand while keeping it sheathed.

His right hand hovered only inches away from gripping the Changdao’s hilt, yet he refrained from doing so.

Instead, he turned the blade upside down so its cutting edge faced towards the sky.

“This is pointless, if you won’t attack even after I’ve given you the chance, then it ans you’ve forsaken that opportunity as well,” Yama declared, leaping in front of Alec, raising his weapons high with both hands tightly gripping the blade of the Naginata.

The blade emitted a radiant glow, reflecting the excess Ki energy that Yama had pushed into that region.

With a loud cry, Yama finally let the Naginata fall down, precisely at that mont when Alec’s eyes opened.

“Now, it’s my turn,” Alec muttered under his breath, a sense of determination evident in his words.
