Now reading: Chapter 736 - 736 Becoming Part Of The Executive Members from The Golem Mage, a Action novel by mystic dark.

736: Becoming Part Of The Executive mbers 736: Becoming Part Of The Executive mbers Alec and the Patriarch were making their way down the mountain after their final sparring session, but despite losing, Alec felt accomplished, as he had achieved what he wanted.

His blade mastery had also reached its peak at the interdiate level, aning it could only advance further through a rank-up to the advanced stage now.

With both his primary weapon masteries at their maximum of the Mid rank for now, Alec resolved to focus on his scythe mastery next, he had discovered a surprising enjoynt in wielding the long-reach weapon, finding its unique combat style exhilarating.

The good news was that Alec wouldn’t need to train extensively with the scythe on his own, since it was one of Oni’s primary weapons, Alec could just have Oni practice more with the scythe than his blade, allowing his mastery to progress naturally toward the peak of the Interdiate level too .

As they descended, Alec imrsed himself in his system interface, carefully selecting the first option for evolving both his weapon masteries, he understood the second option completely, the process of accumulating a massive amount of experience points, but it was the traditional, slower route.

As when they reached the peak they would encounter what is called a bottleneck, often encountered by mages as they advanced their weapon skills, which requires years of relentless practice to break through( this can also be seen as the mage in question accumulating experience).

It was no surprise that many believed it took decades to train a weapon to the advanced level, however, history also showed that battling stronger opponents could lead to sudden breakthroughs during critical monts.

So mages had even recorded monts of epiphany, achieving mastery after gruelling efforts and intense battles.

Alec suspected that these monts occurred because those mages had unknowingly been close to advancing for so ti.

But without a system to monitor their progress, they continued to grind until a critical situation unlocked their hidden potential.

Understanding this, Alec realized that while the first option posed greater risks, it was also the fastest and most effective for soone like him, and with the system guiding him, he didn’t see the need to take the traditional path and wait to accumulate experience.

Because If he chose to wait, he might have reached the High Mage rank before his weapon mastery evolved to the Advanced level, that was why he had firmly decided to take the first option.

The Patriarch glanced at Alec, noticing his bowed head and distant expression, misinterpreting it as disappointnt over not landing a single hit during their sparring session, he had no idea of the thoughts running through Alec’s mind.

“Finally, you two decide to show up!” the Grand Elder’s stern voice echoed toward them, snapping both grandson and grandfather out of their thoughts, they looked ahead to find him standing with his hands clasped behind his back, his sharp gaze fixed on them.

“Sorry, I—” the Patriarch began, but the Grand Elder interrupted.

“You can save your excuses for why you’ve taken Alec up to the mountain.

Right now, we need to focus on the upcoming war, it may seem far off, but it’s almost upon us, and we’re not dealing with any ordinary race.

It’s a massive horde of zombies we’re up against.

Don’t forget that.”

“Oh, the eting,” the Patriarch muttered, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile.

“I completely forgot about it.” Turning to Alec, he added,

“I’ll see you later.

There’s a tiny detail we need to finalize, or the Grand Elder will have my head.”

But before he could finish, the Grand Elder interjected again.

“What do you an, ‘see him later’?

Alec should co along too, he’s your heir, after all.

If he’s to handle these boring etings in the future, he should start now and learn how important it is to be a Patriarch.”

The Patriarch nodded in reluctant agreent, but Alec couldn’t resist firing back.

“If being a Patriarch is such a great honour, why does no one in the clan want the position?

Including the current Patriarch, who conveniently forgets his responsibilities to go buy wine,” Alec quipped, earning himself a sharp knock on the head from his grandfather.

“Ow!” Alec winced, rubbing the spot, while the Grand Elder shook his head in exasperation.

“We’re running late.

Let’s go,” the Grand Elder said curtly, cutting off any further conversation about the Patriarch situation, he clearly is uninterested in engaging further on such topics.

Back at Alec’s house, the group gathered to check on Sophie and Endrick, only to realize that Alec hadn’t returned all night.

“Are you guys sure Alec’s okay?

He hasn’t shown up at all since yesterday,” Sophie said softly, her confusion evident as she looked around at the relaxed expressions of the Gordons.

It baffled her how nonchalant they were despite knowing Alec had essentially been “kidnapped” by that angry looking old man.

“Relax, Sophie,” Arthur said, waving off her concern.

“The one who took him was his grandfather, considering all the stuff Alec stole from him before we headed to school, it’s not surprising he was kidnapped.

I just hope Alec keeps my na out of it, I don’t want the Patriarch coming after as an accomplice!” Arthur shivered at the thought, causing Knight and Agnes to burst into laughter as they knew how Alec always shared his grandfather’s stolen wine with both Arthur and Brandon.

“You don’t need to worry, Sophie,” Agnes reassured her, stepping closer.

“There’s no way Alec would be in any danger with the Patriarch, that’s the strongest mage in the entire clan, if he ever is in trouble now it’s because of his actions.”

Hearing this eased both Sophie and Endrick’s concerns, learning that Alec was the grandson of such a powerful figure gave them peace of mind.

With their worries set aside, the boys resud their daily training and sparring, and with the addition of Endrick’s presence among them it kind of balanced the numbers, allowing everyone to take turns sparring against each other.

In the midst of their activities, Aiden, Ethan, Emma, and Kelvin arrived at the backyard of Alec’s modest manor, curious to join in the commotion.
