759: Superior Display.

759: Superior Display.

The days flew by until it was finally the day of the Blood Moon War.

For the residents of Estonia City who had nothing to do with the battle, fear gripped their hearts, and they had already locked themselves inside their hos, praying that the mages fighting on the behalf of the city would return with a flawless victory.

Wives wept as their husbands strapped on their weapons, preparing to join their squads.

Children knelt in silent prayer, wishing for their fathers’ safe return, the entire city was drenched in sorrow, an air of inevitable loss hanging over them.

Even before the battle had begun, the morale of the mages was devastatingly low, many of them were reluctant, unwilling, and yet, they still marched forward.

Because they had no choice.

Despite their fears, they held onto a single hope, that even if they had to lay down their lives, they would do so protecting their loved ones, as long as no zombies broke through the city gates, as long as their families survived, then their sacrifice would be worth it.

The sun was still up, yet the City Guards, City Guardians, and City Commanders had already moved beyond the gates, taking their positions and preparing in advance, their eyes were fixed on the space gate in the distance, which was slowly absorbing mana from the air, pulsing with an ominous glow.

One by one, various clans began to arrive and take their positions, but even as they stood ready, an air of unease spread through them.

When the Lanzt Clan’s Tier 4 Mages, led by their ancestor Bailey Lanzt, arrived, they were imdiately taken aback, and that was because the Gordon Clan was nowhere to be seen.

A rare occurrence, as the Gordons were always among the first to arrive, securing strategic positions on the battlefield, but now, they were missing.

“Even though we took our ti getting here just to avoid getting into the front lines before them, they’re still not here…” Sheila Lanzt muttered, scanning the field, her expression darkened as she confird what she already suspected.

“This is not looking good.” She concluded

“Calm down, there are still a few hours until the Blood Moon battle, they’ll show up eventually,” Bryan said, trying to reassure the others.

“I know that guy, Alec—he wouldn’t miss a chance to fight for anything if he’s still the sa person I acknowledged in the past.”

He smirked before adding,

“All we have to do is swallow our pride and shalessly latch onto them when they arrive.

It’s not like they can do anything about it.”

Bailey Lanzt sighed but didn’t argue with his grandson’s suggestion Instead, he took off to join the rest of the Tier 7 mages in the sky.

While the Lanzt Clan searched for the Gordons, the Gordon Clan remained atop a secluded mountain, fully prepared but going through their general’s battle strategy again.

At that mont, the Patriarch and the Grand Elder made their way toward the back mountains behind the Gordon estate.

With them, 200 full-body Tier 1 armour sets of various colours and sizes glead under the fading sunlight, along with twenty full-body Tier 2 armour sets being pushed by a set of mages from the Forging departnt.

Even the Tier 2 armour ca in different colours and designs, a testant to how much effort the Gordon Clan had put into this.

They had emptied their treasury of every Tier 1 and Tier 2 demonic beast corpse they had left, offering them to the forging team to craft protective gear.

Despite the limited ti and intense pressure, the forgers had managed to push their limits, creating twenty Tier 2 armour sets.

Though it wasn’t enough to equip every Tier 1 and Tier 2 mage, but the elders were still satisfied by their efforts, as it was a crucial layer of protection, one that could make the difference between life and death for the mages that would get their hands on them.

“Alec, I’ve got a surprise for you—” the Patriarch called out, his voice loud and confident, but as he finally reached the mountain’s peak, his words cut off abruptly.

His eyes widened.

His breath hitched.

Before him stood the mages of the Gordon Clan that were going to be participating in the Blood Moon war and more than half of them were already clad in armour.

But not just any armour.

Each of them wore brown-plated spirit armour, perfectly fitted to their bodies.

In their hands, long black spears and shield glead under the dimming sky, their edges lined with deep brown markings, the weapons pulsed with latent energy.

Even from a distance, the Patriarch could tell, these were spirit weapons.

His shock was palpable.

‘Where had these co from?’ he thought

But that wasn’t all.

So mages carried staffs instead of spears, while those who held spears also had their primary weapons strapped to their bodies, so with spirit swords at their waists, others with spirit axes slung across their backs, the sight was nothing short of astonishing.

What truly shocked the Patriarch was seeing Tier 1, 2, 3, and even Tier 4 mages fully equipped with spirit equipnt sets, each tailored to their realm and elent, it was a monuntal feat, especially compared to what he had brought, which only fully outfitted the Tier 1 and 2 mages and lacked elental compatibility with the Gordons mages.

The armour equipnt that the Elder council had crafted for Gordon mages was not purely from earth-elental materials but all sort of elents, aning most of the mages wouldn’t be able to resonate with them as the Gordons primary elent was Earth, while they would still offer protection, the armours wouldn’t provide any elental enhancent, except for an increased physical durability.

Yet here he was, witnessing sothing he hadn’t even dared to dream of.

Not only had Alec fully equipped every mage, but he had also done so with weapons that matched their elental affinities.

Tier 1 mages wore Tier 1 spirit armour.

Tier 2 mages wore Tier 2 armour.

And so on.

The fact that Alec alone had managed to accomplish this, while he and the Gordon Clan’s council of elders could only provide basic armour for every mage, felt like an embarrassnt.

The Patriarch clenched his jaw before whispering urgently to Grand Elder Garrick,

“Hey, make sure these guys don’t bring those spirit armours up, go down and store them all in your space ring there’s no way we can let the clan’s mages see that we couldn’t even match what their young master provided for them.”

Garrick blinked in confusion at first, but the mont his eyes landed on the fully armoured mages, shining and radiating elental power, only one word slipped from his lips:

“Shit.”

Wasting no ti, he rushed down the mountain towards the struggling mages pushing the cart of armour, swiftly swiping them all into his space ring.

“You all don’t need to trouble yourselves anymore, you can go now,” the Grand Elder said smugly, waving off the mages before him.

The mages, however, exchanged confused glances, thinking

‘If they had a space ring all along, why hadn’t they just used it from the start?

Why had they been forced to push such a massive load of armour up the mountain when there had clearly been an easier option?’

The answer was simple, the Patriarch wanted a grand entrance.

He had envisioned the armour arriving in style, carried up in glimring carriages, sparkling in various colours, drawing the mages’ awe and admiration.

He had thought it would inspire excitent and anticipation rather than simply handing out a space ring to Alec who would distribute the armours in a mundane fashion.

But now, that plan had completely backfired.

Faced with Alec’s far superior display, they had no choice but to hide their own efforts, as it would only pale in comparison.

Without another word, the mages turned their carriages around and left, even though they couldn’t help but wonder why they had been made to drag the armour up the mountain in the first place.

But questioning the Grand Elder of the clan was not an option.
