Though the bat-type demonic beast appeared to be fast asleep, Alec could sense its strong ntal powers spreading a few ters around it, and anyone who crossed that invisible boundary around it without caution would instantly alert the beast to their presence.

The sight made Alec tense as he racked his brain for a way to eliminate the creature quickly before it could summon its comrades, the more he thought about it, however, the heavier his head felt, until he realized he had only one chance and he couldn’t afford to waste it.

Gradually, his thoughts strayed beyond the usual approach, and a faint smile curved his lips.

“Legion, I’ll be going out alone,” Alec announced, catching his golem off guard, Legion’s eyes widened in surprise; he hadn’t expected such a decision from his master.

He had assud Alec would summon the full squad of golems to overwhelm the beast before it could raise an alarm. After all, the golems were confident—having slain Tier 7 wolves, he believed dispatching such demonic beasts like the bat before it was able to call for help would be no problem.

And even if it did manage to summon reinforcents, they only needed to kill it before Alec fell, allowing him to devour its soul and form his third demonic beast soul.

To Legion, that plan was the most logical.

But Alec was thinking differently, he had noticed a pattern in the third level of the beast forest, every demonic beast here could see into his realm easily and when those Tier 7 demonic beast saw that his cultivation realm was only at the Tier 6 mage realm they tended to underestimate him.

It was as though Tier 7 beasts carried an ingrained arrogance, dismissing him outright, without his golems beside him, they would never regard him with true vigilance and Alec was ready to exploit that weakness.

He was ready to use that arrogance to his advantage, from what he had learned from the bull demon, Alec knew that to the bat-type demonic beast, a human—flesh and blood—was considered a rare delicacy.

All he had to do was play into its pride, hoping it would believe it could handle him alone and thus avoid calling its comrades, as it would be unwilling to share its prey.

Alec stepped into the open, feigning clumsiness, his left shoulder wound, freshly reopened, dripped blood, an intentional act to lure the beast closer.

He had deliberately exposed the injury, baiting the bat into action.

The mont he entered the range of its ntal senses, the creature’s body trembled. Alec froze, looking up with an expression of dread, he held his act as best he could, and after two tense seconds, the beast’s twitching stilled.

Alec sighed in feigned relief and began moving toward another direction, pretending to retreat from the domain of blood.

Inside, however, he was smirking, the Lesser Sanguirion had taken the bait, its initial tremor had revealed that it sensed him, but upon recognizing Alec as rely a Tier 6 demonic beast, it chose not to sound an alarm.

To it, Alec was nothing more than easy prey, so it pretended to drift back into slumber, hoping to lower Alec’s guard.

The mont Alec turned his back, the bat’s wings spread wide, its eyes glowing with a sinister red hue, once it confird that Alec had completely relaxed, its body shimred with a layer of colourless qi.

Then, unhooking its legs from the branch, it dropped with eerie grace, gliding silently toward him from behind.

Just as it closed in, fangs ready to sink into Alec’s bleeding shoulder, a thunderous bang shattered the silence.

Legion, who had been waiting, fired from his hiding place, the Sanguirion’s long-range vision was poor, but its sensitivity to sound was unmatched , before the bullet even made it halfway, the beast snapped its body backward in a swift motion, the shot whizzing past and embedding itself in the tree it had been resting on.

That single shot stirred the blood domain awake, screeches echoing from a nearby location.

But Alec and Legion had never intended for the bullet to be the killing blow, it was rely a signal, a latch point Alec had set to manipulate the beast’s movents.

Every reaction so far had played exactly as Alec predicted, the Lesser Sanguirion glared at him, realizing too late that the human mage it once dismissed as re prey had changed.

Alec now stood facing it, his expression stripped of all fear, what remained was pure focus—determined, hardened, and intent on slaying the bat-like demonic beast with as little wasted movent as possible.

His arms stretched out: in his right hand, the bloody Changdao rested; and in his left, the heart of a slain light wolf, harvested by his golems.

He had taken the wolves’ hearts for this very mont, a power-up against a Tier 7 beast.

Now, it proved the right choice, turning the blade inward, Alec plunged the Changdao through his own chest.

The Sanguirion’s eyes widened in shock at Alec’s action as the blade turned into blood mist and dissolved into his body , but despite all this only the intoxicating flood of blood overwheld the Sanguirion senses.

It charged recklessly, abandoning all caution, Alec smirked at its action clearly he had underestimated the beast’s addiction to blood, but this only worked in his favour.

As now, he didn’t need to think of how to close the distance.
