Just as the soldiers were preparing to rush out of the city and ght the devils to the end, an elegant gure
came and landed on the city wall.
Upon seeing the identity of the other party, the whole city knelt down in respect.
“Paying respects to the lord of White Tiger City!”
The person who had e to the city was none other than Yan Yu, the city lord of White Tiger City, one of
the four main cities in the Barren Land.
It was known to everyone all over the Barren Land that the city lords of Azure Dragon City, White Tiger
City, Qilin City, and Black Tortoise City, these four main cities, were like brothers to their demon lord. They
were loyal friends who had acpanied the lord to conquer the mainland. Therefore, they had
extremely high respect and admiration for Yan Yu and the others.
Yan Yu smiled gently and looked at the soldiers ready to go. He raised his hand slowly and said,
“Everybody, please get up.”
“Yes!”
“Are you going out of the city?” Yan Yu looked at the soldiers who had gathered at the city gate.
The city lord got up and replied, “Please forgive me, city lord. We can’t just watch our allies in danger.”
Guarding the city was their duty and retreating to safety was their plan, but this did not mean they would
leave the rades who were risking their lives ghting the enemies.
Yan Yu smiled with satisfaction, “Do you know who is on the battleeld?”
The city lord shook his head.
He was very surprised and wondered why the city lord of White Tiger City, who should be sitting in the
rear, had appeared here.
“That is the demon lord and the city lords of several other main cities.” Yan Yu did not hide anything.
“Pardon?” Everyone froze in an instant.
They never dreamed that Shen Yanxiao and the others would personally appear on the battleeld!
This… this was simply too dangerous!
“Brothers! The lord and other main city lords risked their lives to e here. How can we just stand by
and watch? Everybody, follow me out of the city!” The city lord, who originally planned to launch an attack
on the enemy, could no longer wait for a minute at this time. Knowing Shen Yanxiao was among the devil
army, he intended to take people and charge to the enemy ranks immediately, to allow their lord to
retreat safely no matter what.

In the city, a deafening roar sounded.

“Take it easy. I came here at the behest of the lord.” Yan Yu said.
“Asking the lord of White Tiger City to give us instructions; we will certainly do our best!” The city lord
thought Shen Yanxiao had sent Yan Yu to organize their attack and was excited in an instant.
Yan Yu didn’t know whether to cry or laugh as he looked at the people of the city who saw death as their
nal destination. He quickly expressed Shen Yanxiao’s words.
“The lord has ordered everyone in the whole city to not leave. All you need to do is carry out a longranged attack. The devil army will be left to her and the several other city lords.”
This was Shen Yanxiao’s instruction. Shen Yanxiao knew what kind of temperament the soldiers in the city
might have. Once they saw the devil’s camp being attacked, no matter who the attacker was, the people in
the city would surely ght back and support their ally.
However, Shen Yanxiao did not intend to let them out of the city.
“How can we do that! The lord and several other city lords are in danger. How can we just remain in the
city?” Don’t talk about the city lord not agreeing to this; even the soldiers in the city would not be willing to
do so.
The several lords were courageously killing the enemy outside the city, but they had to retreat into the city
under the protection of these lords. They could not take these kinds of actions, fearing death.
Yan Yu knew that these people would not agree.
“This is the order of the demon lord.”
“Forgive us, but we can’t obey the order!”
Yan Yu rubbed his eyebrows. Should he be relieved that Lord Shen Yanxiao had done too well? The
soldiers in this city were actually willing to die for her.
“This is a strict order. Since all of you call her lord, you should believe that your lord will not ght an
uncertain battle. If you go out now, you will only give the devils a target to attack. With the skills of the
lord, as well as the other city lords, these devils have no way to harm them. But if you really go out, I’m
afraid the lord will be distracted while protecting you, which will put her in more danger.”
