The treatnt room door was hard-knocked from the other side, and the figures entered upon permission. Rafe and Kiev were surprised to see Mary, the royal maid, accompanied by Arl instead of Callis.

"Where’s my sister? Why didn’t you bring her?" asked the derian Prince to the teenager.

"Forgive , Your Highness. Mrs Amares and Madam Collins have gone out. I ran into Miss Mason on my way to them and was inford by her. In my haste, I asked her to co with , thinking she could help," Arl explained.

Rafe quickly grasped the teenager’s intention and glanced at Mary. The maid, already aware of the situation, responded before either man could speak.

"Mr Chester briefed on my way here. Rest assured, I believe I can assist you," Mary said confidently.

"You seem quite sure," Kiev replied, still sceptical.

"My grandmother was a midwife, and I grew up learning from her. My experience may be limited, but it should be useful in this kind of situation. I would be glad to help," the maid added.

Rafe nodded in acknowledgent.

"She should be fine. At least she has knowledge in this area," he said to the derian Prince. "We can’t delay this examination. I need to determine the root cause of Elis’s ailnt before initiating the right treatnt."

Kiev nodded, and the two n stepped aside to let Mary approach Elis.

"Can I ask all of you to step outside for a mont, please?" the maid asked politely as she went to the basin to wash her hands with soap and water before attending to the patient.

"Can’t we wait here?" Kiev asked, scrutinising her request.

"At a woman’s physical examination, n are always asked to stay outside. This is customary, even for husbands, during more complicated occasions like childbirth. I understand if Mr Amares wishes to stay since he is the healer in charge. But since she is entrusted to , I hope you can respect my request," Mary explained.

Kiev wanted to argue further, but Rafe quickly halted the derian Prince.

"I understand. We will wait outside as you requested," he said.

The derian Prince frowned at the response, but Rafe whispered to him, "Co on. Let her do her task. The sooner we get this done, the sooner Elis can be treated. You want her to recover quickly, don’t you?"

Kiev nodded and relented. Before leaving, Rafe took a mont to brief Mary.

"After you finish, don’t tell Elis anything yet. Let us know first, as I don’t want her to be alard," the healer instructed.

Mary nodded in agreent. "Don’t worry, I will."

The n exited the treatnt room and waited outside. Kiev anxiously paced back and forth while Rafe stood still, both anticipating the outco.

anwhile, Arl stood a bit further away, his face concerned. Elis had always been kind to him, and he never wanted anything bad to happen to her.

After a while, the treatnt door opened, startling them. In a quick motion, he and Rafe rushed forward to hear the news. Arl stepped closer but stayed back enough to respect their space, eager to catch the conversation.

A smile spread across Mary’s face as she conveyed the result.

"It’s not alarming. Miss Canton is only nstruating."

"What? nstruating?" Kiev asked in surprise.

"Yes. From what I observed, she might not have had her monthly cycle for a while, which is why the volu of blood is quite heavy this ti. She’s experiencing so stomach cramps, which is causing the pain. Other than that, there’s nothing to worry about." Turning to Rafe, she continued, "You might want to prescribe her so dicine to alleviate the pain."

Rafe nodded, but several thoughts raced through his mind as he processed Mary’s information.

How had Elis, already barren due to excessive consumption of aphrodisiacs, regained her nstrual cycle? The return of her cycle could indicate that her body had recovered, potentially restoring her fertility.

"Are you sure about this?" Kiev asked, his red ruby irises fixated on the maid.

"Yes, I am. This kind of sickness was one of my grandmother’s specialities," Mary replied. "You might want to go in and convey the news to her yourself. She is a bit anxious about it since I haven’t told her anything."

The maid stepped aside, allowing the derian Prince to enter the treatnt room.

"Of course! Of course, I do!"

Kiev was about to make a move when Rafe held his arm just in ti to stop him. The derian Prince shot the healer a questioning glare, wondering what the reason was.

However, instead of voicing his thoughts to the derian Prince right away, Rafe calmly requested the maid.

"Mary, if you don’t mind, could you fetch so clean attire for Elis to change into? It should be in my brother-in-law’s chamber." Turning to Kiev, he added, "Elis surely needs to change into sothing clean and more comfortable."

Sensing that the healer wanted to discuss sothing discreet, the derian Prince acknowledged, "Certainly. Please do help."

"I would be happy to do so. Also, I was thinking of asking if I could use so cotton and linen to prepare the absorbent items for Miss Canton’s nses. It would help prevent leakage and ensure proper sanitation," suggested Mary.

"Yes, I have plenty of those in my treatnt room. Feel free to use any," the healer replied. He then turned to Arl and instructed the teenager, "Please guide Mary to His Highness’s chamber. You may leave afterwards. I appreciate your help, Arl."

Relieved and delighted by the outco of Mary’s examination, Arl smiled brightly and nodded. He was unaware of Elis’s fertility issues, as that information had never reached him.

Regardless, the troubling matter had finally been resolved, and most importantly, Kiev’s beloved woman was in good health.

As soon as Mary and Arl departed, Rafe turned to Kiev and asked suspiciously, "How did her nstruation return? Was this part of your doing? You healed her scars the other day. Did you heal her internal organs, too?"

Kiev’s face radiated joy, his eyes glistening with tears of happiness as he spoke, "It’s the restorative magic I told you about."

"What?? It’s that powerful?" Rafe asked in disbelief.

The derian Prince sighed in relief.

"No matter how powerful healing or restorative magic is, the body itself must respond to it. The scars, although they consud much mana, were not hard to heal. But her womb was the most damaged part of her body, aside from her mind. I wasn’t fully sure the magic would work, but it did! It finally did!"

"How fascinating! Such magic in the right hands can do wonders for human beings!" Rafe exclaid, amazed.

"Like I said, it wasn’t easy, and there was a high possibility that it would fail. Even if it didn’t succeed, I would still want her the sa way. Elis is not to be blad for what happened," Kiev replied. "I can’t wait to tell her this, Rafe! She will definitely be happy!" Kiev said, his excitent palpable.

Rafe smiled, watching the derian Prince. He had never seen Kiev this enthusiastic before and was astounded by his brother-in-law’s willingness to go to such lengths for his soulmate.

"Yes, of course she will be. Let’s go in now, and you can break the news to her. After all, you’re the one who cured her," Rafe said.

Kiev’s face brightened as they stepped inside. They approached Elis, who was sitting upright on the bed. Rafe, giving the couple so space, distanced himself to allow Kiev the mont to reveal the outco.

Elis couldn’t believe her ears when the derian Prince shared the details.

"M-my nstruation? It cos back?" she asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Kiev nodded.

"The healing magic worked perfectly, Elis. You’re healthy again," he said, sitting at the edge of the bed and holding her hands.

Elis blinked several tis, wanting to pinch herself to confirm she wasn’t dreaming. However, the gentle squeeze of Kiev’s hands had first assured her that this was real. Tears began to pool in her eyes.

Her fertility had always been a source of her insecurity, compounded by her past as a forr slave.

A woman like her was often seen as rely a source of pleasure. Even if a good man wanted her, she felt she could only serve as a companion, not as a potential mother—sothing society deed a woman’s primary duty.

Elis was acutely aware that Kiev, a royal prince from a prestigious derian clan, was bound to the custom of the royalties of producing heirs. This reality had always made her hesitant to express her feelings for him despite his kindness and love.

As happiness swelled in her heart, clear and translucent tears trickled down her cheeks.

"Why are you crying? Aren’t you happy about this?" Kiev asked, cupping her cheek.

His fingers gently wiped away her tears as he looked at her in concern.

"I’m happy, Kiev! So happy!" Elis exclaid through her cries.

Wanting to console her further, the derian Prince pulled her into an embrace and patted her back.

"Everything’s all right now. I told you I would take good care of you. You deserve this, Elis," he reassured her.

"Kiev! Kiev!" Elis hugged him tightly, her cries intensifying as she buried her face in his chest.

The derian Prince felt her tears soaking his tunic but didn’t mind. He allowed her to express herself freely.

"Do you know what this ans?" he asked after her cries began to subside.

"What?" she replied, lifting her head to look at him.

Kiev smiled back at her.

"We could have children now."

The thought had crossed Elis’s mind, but she hesitated to voice it, fearful of her low status.

"You want children with ?" she asked, her eyes searching his for confirmation.

"Definitely! Who else would carry my child if not you?" Kiev replied enthusiastically.

Elis’s cheeks flushed with warmth. His words felt like music to her ears—there could be no greater assurance than his own declaration.

"We can have lots and lots of children! It’s always just been Callis and , and it got lonely when we fought, and she decided not to talk to . Now that she’s married to Rafe, I won’t have anyone else to bother but you. If we have many children, it’ll be wonderful!" Kiev said excitedly.

Elis looked at Kiev with glimring eyes, envisioning him running across the green field with their young children while she sat under a tree, cradling a baby and watching them with a smile. The image felt vivid and heartwarming.

However, a hesitation quickly crept into her heart.

Furrowing her brow, she asked, "But... we can’t be totally sure. Just because I have my nstruation back doesn’t guarantee I can get pregnant."

"Don’t worry about it," Rafe interjected. "I’m convinced that the magic has fully healed you, and your fertility is restored. If your nstruation is able to return after such a complication, what more of your ability to get pregnant? I’m in no doubt that Kiev has done an excellent job in ensuring that."

"Focus on your health, Elis. That’s what is more important. Know that I’m not forcing you to bear children for . I say this because I’ve noticed how much you seem to like them, and I want them too, but only with you. If you’re not ready, that’s perfectly fine as long as you’re happy," Kiev said earnestly.

Elis squeezed his hand and replied, "No, Kiev! I want to do this for you, for us! You’ve done so much for , so please let give you what I can! I love children, and it’s always been my dream to have a family of my own."

"I’m glad to hear that," the derian Prince said, smiling brightly at her.

An aura of joy filled the treatnt room. Watching the couple’s happiness, Rafe found himself deep in thought. Callis, too, had always been loving and eager to have children.

Perhaps it was ti for him to start building his own family with her, like a real married couple.

A smile crept onto his face as he envisioned his future with the derian Princess. The mont would indeed arrive soon – so he thought.
