Gamzard’s expression beca distorted.
Then his face beca almost indistinguishable from that of a ghost. His mouth opened with a sticky sound, and sothing like a roar that could not be described in words burst from his throat.
This was proof that Gamzard did not fully understand Residue’s words. Or perhaps, he simply could not accept them at all.
“Hahaha……”
The forr ans stupidity, the latter ans foolishness.
Either way, it was no different from a beast, so laughter ca out.
Residue burst into mad laughter and honestly stepped back. The mont his back touched the wall, it crumbled like a cookie, and Residue appeared in the sky above the city with concrete dust covering his body.
“Have you forgotten that I inserted the lightning current into this body?”
“If you're going to kill , then do it!”
That couldn’t be done.
Residue had no intention of killing any of the Absolutes here.
He retreated by exactly the sa distance Gamzard had closed in, so the distance between them was not easily reduced.
Having already lost his reason, Gamzard couldn’t endure and even drew his Soul Weapon.
Clang!
In Gamzard’s hand appeared a halberd shining with golden light. Even in his near-madness, he swung it like a windmill to awaken his combat senses, then struck toward Residue.
Since there was still so distance, it was a long-range attack using a weapon.
Crash!
The gale swept from the halberd was sweltering. Not that it was actually hot, but it ant that to Residue, it was not impressive enough. That said, it wasn’t sothing to take barehanded either.
As Residue flicked his finger, the surrounding temperature rapidly dropped. Like a white crack forming in empty space, the lightning current flickered, then shot out toward Gamzard like dozens of vipers.
Cold lightning was a concept that theoretically should not exist, but Residue succeeded in manifesting it through a sowhat complicated thod. Thanks to that, the process was several tis more botherso than simply creating ice, but it was worth it.
Boom!
When the opposing forces clashed, a storm of cold and heat swept in all directions. Steam exploded, covering the city, and buildings caught in the windstorm were torn to pieces and fluttered like fallen leaves.
“Wh-what’s happening!”
“An intruder?”
“Over there, that’s Gamzard nim!”
Although the exploding steam enveloped the surroundings, it could not obscure the sight of the Absolutes.
The gazes of the Absolutes who noticed the commotion turned this way.
They were dressed like ordinary villagers and lived as they looked, but their nature clearly hadn’t gone anywhere, as their reaction in this mont was quite swift. They cast off their gentle expressions and rushed toward Residue, revealing their dignity as Absolutes.
Residue imdiately sensed that there were at least dozens of Absolutes targeting him.
He even got the impression that they were fairly coordinated, as if this wasn’t their first ti launching a joint attack.
Right. I’m not the only Absolute who would go wild seeing this scene.
“Hahaha! Yes. You rotting bastards. I thought you'd already beco corpses crawling with maggots, but I see you’re still in the process of dying?”
Residue was truly pleased by the fact that their desire to fight hadn’t completely disappeared. If even in a mont like this they had shown dull-witted faces or tried to flee from the chaos, he might have killed them all.
The Absolutes kept their mouths tightly shut and said nothing. They instinctively realized that the opponent wasn’t to be taken lightly. External force surged from their entire bodies.
He didn’t bother to take note of each and every one of them. There was no need to analyze raindrops.
The mont he spread his arms, their bodies froze in the air.
“……!”
"M-my body......"
The fools who could no longer move their bodies showed expressions of confusion.
In that ti, Residue brought his spread arms together and clapped his hands.
Clap! Those who had stopped, as if resonating with the motion, were drawn by sothing invisible. Their destination was the sa.
In other words, they were being gathered into one place.
Boom!
When the forces refined to the extre clashed, deafening explosions erupted in rapid succession. In that instant, Residue saw that so of them were trying to withdraw their external force, but since he had already fixed them with the Lightning Shackles, they would have been ineffective.
“Looks like you've only been dealing with idiots all this ti.”
In response to Residue’s mockery, a halberd ca flying at him. He struck it with a tightly clenched fist.
Clang!
“Hmm.”
He struck it with the intent to smash it, yet it didn’t even crack. As expected, this body of his didn’t sh well with physical power? The halberd spun like a pinwheel and flew far off into the distance.
It was the mont Residue shook his tingling fist.
Fwoosh-
An arrow flew from sowhere and pierced through his wrist.
“Oh.”
Was it Iztone’s arrow?
Residue looked in the direction the arrow had co from and saw Iztone, the representative of the Conservative Faction, drawing his bowstring from atop a rooftop.
He certainly was trickier than a few dozen foolish Absolutes.
“Where are you looking!”
Gamzard appeared from the mist with a roar. The halberd that had flown off was now in his hand, apparently already retrieved.
“Gamzard, let say this one more ti.”
Residue added curtly.
“Have you forgotten that I inserted the lightning current into your body?”
A vivid blue light flashed.
Gamzard convulsed with his mouth wide open, then collapsed, electrocuted.
Crash!
Before there was even ti to enjoy the sight, a massive gale swept in from all directions. The storm not only drove away the mist surrounding the city but transford into a fierce blast and even enveloped Residue.
‘Five external forces masked within the gale.’
Residue’s lips twisted coldly.
“Is this all you’ve got?”
Rumble...
With a low murmur, the gale vanished, and the hidden external forces bounced away in all directions.
Residue’s voice echoed heavily like the prelude to thunder, reaching the ears of every Absolute in Sin City.
“So this fence you call your ‘brethren’, this is the best it can do?”
Dark clouds gathered over the previously clear sky.
As Residue slowly floated into the air, the cold wind and external forces that had assaulted him crumbled like a sandcastle swept away by waves.
“Did you really think you could win by combining your strength? Since when have you put your trust in nurical superiority?”
Absolutes were gathering one by one.
The woman standing at the front spoke.
“Do you truly intend to make Sin City your enemy?”
“Puhaha... I can’t even take that threat seriously. You lot now take pride not in yourselves but in the group you belong to. I suppose the word ‘degeneracy’ is ant for monts like this.”
“We were not wrong.”
“Then it ans your resolve is lacking.”
A fierce fla flared in the woman’s eyes. Residue knew who she was.
The Absolute representing the [Moderate-Conservative], Alobada.
“To us─”
“It's not just your resolve that’s lacking. Your coordination is also sloppy.”
In that instant, the Absolutes covered their ears.
Residue’s voice suddenly rang out like thunder.
“I have already experienced a coordinated attack by Absolutes... and it was a far more sophisticated formation than your clumsy cooperation.”
Compared to the joint assault led by Sytra and the Lords, these tactics were re child’s play.
Residue slowly declared.
“This body shall now beco a Destroyer.”
A tingling sensation, as if lightning had pierced through the whole body, was felt. So of the lower-tier Absolutes looked as though they could barely remain standing.
Residue looked down at all of them with a commanding gaze.
“Simply giving your all won’t be enough. Think as if your life depends on it, and prepare accordingly. Otherwise, the only thing left intact in this city will be the sun.”
“…Surely you’re not…”
Fear flickered in Alobada’s eyes.
“Are you the Lightning God?”
“No.”
It was a question he had expected to co eventually.
Residue curled the corner of his mouth and replied.
"I'm sothing beyond that."

The six factions of the Council of Absolutes.
Among them, the Absolute who represented the [Moderate Faction] and held the role of consolidating the opinions of the other representatives after the construction of Sin City was none other than Perus.
In other words, it was his responsibility to make the final decision in a situation like this.
But...
“What on earth is this...”
Perus felt as though he were trapped in a nightmare.
He knew well the potential of an Absolute. How could he not? In the past, he had managed the Top Universe and had laid eyes on countless Absolutes. He possessed more detailed knowledge about them than anyone else.
Naturally, that Absolute who was now raining down lightning from the sky was soone he had once seen.
Lukas Trowman, the Absolute who originated as a human.
If mory served, when he first set foot in the Top Universe, his power was at the lowest stage of an Absolute, an Assistant, and even then, at an average level.
In short, his beginning was ordinary.
But what ca afterward was anything but.
Lukas’s mission completion speed was unprecedented, and his growth rate was unmatched. He never relied on becoming a Ruler, sothing that most Absolutes inevitably fell into.
In conclusion, Lukas Trowman was certainly a remarkable existence.
Rumble!
He was remarkable, yes, but he was never supposed to beco a monster of this magnitude, soone that defied all reason.
With every strike of lightning, dozens of Absolutes collapsed and never rose again. Though he didn’t take their lives, it was clear he could have if he wished.
“Hahaha─! Is this all you’ve got, ‘Sin City’? And you dared to speak of right and wrong with just this?”
Despite the blatant mockery, no anger arose.
That was Perus, how would the other Absolutes be? Most of them were seized by fear.
As they looked at the man calmly standing in the sky, they recalled a being who should not and could not exist in this city.
A Ruler.
The Thunderous Lightning God.
─I'm sothing beyond that.
…What does “sothing beyond” even an?
Rulers don’t lie by nature, but neither do they speak the truth plainly.
Could it be that he had completely surpassed the forr Lightning God and beco sothing even more powerful?
Was that why he could now freely access the Top Universe, a place he once could not enter?
But then why was the Lightning God in Lukas Trowman’s body?
Scattered thoughts kept rising and then vanishing without reaching any conclusions.
Perus once again looked around. The residents of Sin City had not fled, but they had already lost the will to fight.
‘It’s only natural...!’
Whether that Absolute was truly a Ruler or not...!
The re fact that he reminded them of a Ruler was enough to sap the will to fight from more than 90 percent of the Absolutes in Sin City. It wasn’t their fault. Everyone present here had served the Rulers for at least several thousand years.
The deep-seated fear and reverence burned into their minds couldn’t be overco in an instant.
Then what should be done?
What should he do?
“…Damn it.”
Wasn’t that answer already clear from the beginning?
Perus bit his lip hard and turned around.
“…Nitalda.”
He called the na of the Absolute standing beside him.
Nitalda’s cold gaze turned toward him.
“Speak.”
“We have to summon that one.”
“……”
Nitalda’s gaze shifted.
Humiliation and displeasure briefly surfaced, then quickly disappeared. She let out a deep sigh, as if in resignation.
“…So it’s co to that, after all?”
“Yeah. It might already be a very late decision. Maybe we should have done it from the beginning. That being is not soone we can handle.”
“……”
“Where is that one now?”
“On the island at the northern end. He's probably already sensed the commotion here. If we simply give ‘permission’, he'll move imdiately.”
Perus let out a matching sigh.
“You go, Nitalda. Go and give him permission to enter Sin City."
“I’ll be quick.”
Nitalda’s figure vanished in an instant.
Which ant that until she returned with reinforcents, the one responsible for holding back that monster was Perus.
"......Not anymore."
Perus looked up at the man, Residue, and muttered.
“Even if you really are the Lightning God, you’re no longer the strongest.”
