Deep within the Fallen Battlefield.
This was a violent region that filled one with fear.
The sky here was perpetually shrouded in gloom. Terrifying spiritual energy storms raged across the land, sweeping over everything in their path. Wherever these storms passed, mountains were flattened in an instant. Only certain jet black peaks could withstand their onslaught, because those mountains were ford entirely from pure cold iron. Their sturdiness was such that even a full power strike from an Eighth Grade Sovereign would be unable to shatter them.
Across the land, enormous chasms tens of thousands of feet deep were scattered everywhere, resembling black dragons crawling across the earth. The pitch black depths sent chills through anyone who gazed upon them.
Yin winds howled out from the abysses, carrying what sounded like mournful ghostly wails. Faintly, one could even see shadow like figures drifting about.
Those were the divine souls of powerful experts who had fallen here. However, after endless ages of erosion, they had long since lost their consciousness and beco existences similar to wandering specters.
Because they had absorbed the unique energy of the Fallen Battlefield, these beings still retained part of their strength from when they were alive and were filled with aggression. Anyone who approached them would be t with frenzied attacks.
This region was like a land of death, devoid of even the slightest trace of vitality.
At this mont, Liu Bai was walking through this terrifying environnt. If not for the newly reforged Dragon Phoenix Battle Armor protecting him, it would have been impossible for him to travel alone through this place without resorting to special thods.
If that were the case, it would be an enormous test of his own spiritual energy reserves.
"The black windstorms here are a hundred tis stronger than those outside. If one were to be swept directly into them, even a Ninth-Grade Sovereign would not be able to leave safely."
Liu Bai was currently hiding inside a natural cave within a black mountain. Looking at the world outside, dark gray spiritual energy storms were already surging in from all directions, twisting space itself under their rampage.
This scouting trip was not only about searching for the Earth Sovereign hidden treasury. He also needed to record safe routes. Otherwise, how would the army behind him pass through?
"This cave is still too small. It is impossible for an army to shelter here. It would be best to find a place where the entire interior of a mountain is hollow."
Of course, this was only aningful if clues to the Earth Sovereign hidden treasury could be found ahead. Otherwise, these routes would be useless.
Liu Bai cast his gaze toward the gloomy world outside, his eyes narrowing slightly. With his keen perception, he could faintly sense that many extrely obscure fluctuations were hidden within this heaven and earth.
Those fluctuations carried an intensely dangerous aura. Even Liu Bai did not dare to probe them too deeply, fearing that he might bring disaster upon himself. In a place like this, a single careless mistake could an never leaving again.
"It is said that during the great calamity when the Fiend Clans invaded the Great Thousand World, this place was once a massive battlefield. According to records from ancient texts within the Great Heavenlaw Domain, the number of Earth Sovereign level super experts who fell here from the Great Thousand World alone exceeds ten, not even counting the Fiend Clans Demon Kings who fell here and were comparable to Earth Sovereigns."
Liu Bai pondered silently.
"However, not every hidden treasury left behind by these Earth Sovereigns can be opened. So even deliberately leave deadly traps for treasure seekers, just to prevent disturbance after their death."
Not every expert was willing to offer up everything after death. If one were unlucky enough to encounter a stingy senior, rushing in would be little different from courting death.
There were also so experts whose bodies were corrupted by evil aura after death, or beca parasitized by demonic intent. Such cases could bring trendous danger to anyone who entered.
There was also another special situation.
That was when so experts, before falling, chose to hide themselves within torn space.
Although these people had already fallen and lost all consciousness, due to the peculiar nature of the Fallen Battlefield, their physical bodies could still be preserved and retain part of their strength from when they were alive. If awakened, they would go berserk and attack anything and anyone around them.
Therefore, upon sensing obscure spatial fluctuations in a certain area, one must never trigger them out of curiosity. Otherwise, it was very likely to bring about catastrophic disaster.
After the storm passed and he confird that the surroundings were safe, Liu Bai finally stepped out of the cave. He checked his direction once more, made a brief mark on the spiritual map, and then continued onward toward the suspicious locations marked by Mandala on the map.
Proceeding with extre caution, Liu Bai avoided several black windstorms along the way.
On one occasion, a spatial fluctuation appeared directly beside him. He did not even have ti to react before a jet black claw thrust out, nearly piercing five bloody holes through his body.
It was an evil corpse whose combat strength rivaled that of an Eighth-Grade Sovereign. Its entire body was covered in dark purple black patterns, its eyes were pitch black, and black gas continuously seeped out from the corners of its eyes. Its appearance was truly terrifying.
However, after cultivating the Dragon Phoenix Body and even activating the spirits of the True Dragon and True Phoenix, Liu Bai's close combat ability had risen dramatically. His defense was peerless, and with the Five Elents power and Undying Divine Fla within him, even evil aura could not do much to him in a short ti. Thus, aside from being caught off guard at the beginning, Liu Bai handled the rest with ease, and in the end directly shattered the evil corpse into powder with a single punch.
"Ding. Congratulations on killing an Eighth Grade Sovereign Evil Corpse. You have obtained two million four hundred thousand experience points."
Gaining more than two million experience points again, Liu Bai's total experience surpassed ten million once more. This gave rise to a thought in his mind. Should he look for a few more of these evil corpses to hunt?
After pondering for a long ti, he felt that this was feasible, but he had to be extrely cautious. Otherwise, if he accidentally released a terrifying existence he could not defeat, then even if he managed to escape in this environnt, he would still pay a heavy price.
Having made his decision, Liu Bai began to act.
However, whether he had underestimated the dangers of the Fallen Battlefield, or his luck was simply poor, after advancing for only half a day, spatial fluctuations appeared beside him once again.
They were just as sudden and just as impossible to guard against. By the ti Liu Bai noticed them, it was already too late to dodge.
This ti, however, the experience was clearly different from before. No evil corpse or demonic puppet rushed out. Instead, a trendous suction force directly swallowed Liu Bai whole.
This instantly startled him. Golden light erupted around his body as a golden dragon and a golden phoenix flew out from the Dragon Phoenix Battle Armor, tightly protecting him from all sides.
Yet the attack he was waiting for did not arrive. Instead, through the golden light, he saw clearly where he had ended up.
He was now in a pitch black region, resembling a bottomless prison ford by a black hole.
Liu Bai narrowed his eyes slightly. At the center of this dark prison, he could faintly see a stone seat.
On that stone seat seed to sit a vague silhouette. A powerful pressure radiated from that indistinct figure, gradually spreading throughout the entire space.
"Was I teleported into the remains of so fallen powerhouse, or is this a small spatial domain that the person before tore open before their death?"
Liu Bai guessed that the latter was far more likely. It could be considered a spatial tomb that the senior had created for himself before falling.
It was just a pity that judging from the current situation, this tomb floating within the void had also been contaminated by the ever present demonic aura.
"I have waited tens of millions of years. At last, a successor has awakened …"
A hoarse and ancient voice echoed from within the dark region. The darkness there rippled slightly as the vague figure atop the stone seat slowly raised its head.
Liu Bai instantly tensed up and heightened his vigilance.
As the other party lifted his head, Liu Bai was briefly able to see the true appearance of the figure.
It was a sowhat sunken face, covered with the marks of ti. However, his pupils appeared hollow, and when those empty eyes fell upon Liu Bai, it was as if a glimr of light erged from within them.
"I was once an elder under the Fourth Hall Master of the Ancient Heavenly Palace. Since you were able to break into this place and awaken my true spirit, you must be a fated one. My will is about to dissipate, and my inheritance shall be left to the destined."
The vague figure spoke hoarsely. His strength seed to be gradually fading away. By the end, he could only weakly wave his hand and say, "Co forward."
This scene truly resembled the classic mont of a dying powerhouse leaving behind his inheritance for future generations.
However, Liu Bai had previously experienced an incident on the Five Elents Continent where a demonic soul impersonated the Five Emperors Celestial Sovereign. Combined with many similar plots in the original work, this caused him to harbor doubts about the identity of the figure from the very beginning.
It was not that he doubted the introduction the figure had given of himself. Rather, he suspected that the one currently controlling this body was not the original owner of it.
Looking at the figure who now lay weakly slumped on the stone seat, Liu Bai did not move. Instead, he stood silently in place, quietly waiting for sothing.
Within his perception, the aura of the figure on the stone seat was growing increasingly unstable, as though it could completely dissipate at any mont.
In this stalemate, more than ten minutes passed.
Although the aura of the figure on the stone seat was now like a dying candle flickering in the wind, it stubbornly persisted.
Seeing this, Liu Bai beca even more certain of his judgnt. That figure was definitely not sothing harmless.
A few minutes later, the figure within the darkness finally seed unable to endure it any longer. No longer maintaining the pretense, the hollow eyes that had been tightly shut suddenly flew open.
In an instant, sinister light nearly burst out from his eyes. His face twisted into a malevolent expression as his gaze locked onto Liu Bai. A sharp voice filled with rage resounded through the space.
"You little brat, you really can endure."
Liu Bai rely smiled lightly. "You are the one lacking patience, far sooner than I expected."
"I was thinking that if you could hold on just a bit longer, I might walk over and take a look. I did not expect you to expose yourself first."
"You bastard."
The sinister aura in the figure's hollow eyes surged violently. Black mist swirled around the corners of his eyes, making him look like a classic villain from an animated tale.
"A re Sixth Grade Sovereign brat. In my eyes, you are not even worth more than an ant, yet you dare act so presumptuously before ."
Liu Bai's expression remained calm. Hearing this, he replied indifferently, "If you were truly that powerful, why am I still standing here so calmly?"
"Still pretending to be dead. Using tricks ant to fool children. I am quite curious to see what other thods you still have."
The figure was nearly driven mad with anger. The black demonic aura around him grew increasingly dense, yet his aura truly began to fluctuate violently.
"Oh? No way. Do not tell you are about to die from anger?"
"Ah! You little brat. I will kill you. I will refine your divine soul into a demonic soul, refine your body into a demonic puppet, and enslave you for eternity."
The figure's face was filled with ferocity. As his furious voice echoed, even the surrounding darkness seed to begin expanding toward Liu Bai's position.
This caused Liu Bai to raise an eyebrow. He lifted his hand, and purple flas instantly transford into a sea of fire before him, sweeping overwhelmingly toward the encroaching darkness.
Sizzling sounds rang out.
When the Undying Divine Fla collided with the darkness, it actually produced violent burning sounds.
Yet despite the terrifying nature of the Undying Divine Fla, it was firmly blocked by the darkness, unable to advance even an inch.
"Is that true demonic aura?"
Liu Bai could not help but frown.
One had to know that even spiritual energy would be rapidly burned away when facing the Undying Divine Fla. Yet this darkness was able to halt its advance. That was truly inconceivable.
The only explanation Liu Bai could think of was demonic aura.
"Fortunately, I did not recklessly make contact with that darkness earlier. Otherwise, things would truly have beco troubleso."
After witnessing the power of that darkness, Liu Bai could not help but feel a lingering sense of fear.
However, he still needed to find a way to deal with this demonic aura and the demonic soul occupying the body. Otherwise, he would likely not be able to leave this space at all.
"To deal with demonic aura and demonic souls, the best thod is sealing."
Whether one accepted it or not, the power of the Fiend Clans had an extrely strong suppressive effect on the spiritual energy of the Great Thousand World. Otherwise, back then, it would not have nearly destroyed the Great Thousand World rely with the participation of those so called Saint Race remnants expelled from the Tianyuan World by Zhou Yuan.
If it were anyone else, even soone like Mandala, a Earth Sovereign, when faced with demonic aura and demonic souls that could only be sealed, would likely be helpless.
But Liu Bai was different.
Although his own strength was insufficient and it was impossible for him to seal such demonic aura and demonic souls personally, he possessed treasures.
Using his divine soul to communicate with the Immortal True Form Diagram within his body, Liu Bai quickly drew out a strand of Five Elents sealing power. It then transford into a streak of light and shot directly into the body of the figure.
"What is this? Little brat, what did you do? No. No. Ah!"
Amid piercing screams mixed with hoarse terror, the figure quickly fell silent.
Liu Bai raised an eyebrow and muttered softly, "Damn, is it really this strong? Solved just like that, without even a shred of resistance."
