Now reading: Chapter 826 - 8: Jingxu Heaven from The Growth of a God, a Eastern novel by Lazy Zero.

Ascension Area, Mountain and Sea Realm, Thirty Three Heavens.

This is the "Jingxu Heaven" of the Thirty Three Heavens, a small world composed of a sea of clouds.

Here, there is no sky, no earth, only a sea of clouds ford by countless vapors.

If it wasn’t confird that this world still possesses material attributes, the Mountain and Sea Civilization might directly classify it as a type of Spiritual World.

Even so, Jingxu Heaven has still beco a cradle for many strange creatures—Spiritual Jellyfish being one of them.

As a branch of Floating Jellyfish, Spiritual Jellyfish can not only float forever in the sea of clouds.

When necessary, they also extend their tentacles into another dinsion, capturing the spirituality and souls of other worlds.

And it is precisely because of this unique ability that Spiritual Jellyfish have caused significant trouble for the Reincarnation System of the Mountain and Sea Realm.

Although the Thirty Three Heavens orbit around the Mountain and Sea Realm in the form of "satellites,"

this doesn’t an these thirty-three small worlds are really thirty-three separate celestial entities that never touch each other.

On the contrary, based on different dinsions and attributes, the Thirty Three Heavens actually widely exist across different dinsional interfaces.

Though it sounds incredible, the phenonon of "world overlapping," which is absolutely impossible on a material level, is common in the Thirty Three Heavens.

The smaller the difference, the greater the compatibility among the Thirty Three Heavens, the higher the likelihood of overlapping phenona appearing.

Especially Jingxu Heaven, which, except for certain special monts, is almost always overlapping with other small worlds.

It’s hard to say that the Spiritual Jellyfish’s ability to capture spirituality from other worlds has nothing to do with such a special environnt of Jingxu Heaven.

The problem is, if it only captured spirituality from other worlds, that would be that.

However, as the Thirty Three Heavens gradually nurtured life, those souls that should have entered the Reincarnation System also beca the food of Spiritual Jellyfish.

To eliminate this situation, the Celestial Monarchs of the Netherworld specifically dispatched investigators to study the ecology of these nearby jellyfish.

If necessary, they can employ all ans, except absolute destruction, to limit the Spiritual Jellyfish.

After all, the existence of Spiritual Jellyfish is akin to a biological disaster for other worlds.

Yet, there are very few natural enemies of Spirit Jellyfish in Jingxu Heaven. If they are not restricted before they beco rampant, it will only lead to a greater calamity.

Fu Yu, who beca a ferryman long ago, was one of the investigators sent to Jingxu Heaven by the Netherworld Celestial Monarch.

Fu Yu is a Skeleton but not a normal Skeleton.

During the Bone Forest’s nurturing period, due to unauthorized operation, a section of Fu Yu’s Bone Bamboo briefly entered the Nether Realm.

Afterwards, even though the Bone Bamboo returned to the Material Realm, Fu Yu thus acquired a unique ability unlike normal Skeletons—virtualization.

Fu Yu can freely traverse the Yin and Yang Realms, possessing both material and spiritual forms simultaneously.

It should be noted that Skeletons are individuals born from Death, inherently close to the Nether Realm, which is filled with Death.

But Fu Yu, who could freely transform into a ghost, is, in a way, even not sure if should be considered a true Skeleton.

Of course, if it were only this, Fu Yu wouldn’t stand out among the Hundred Races of Mountains and Seas.

What truly worried the Skeleton of Prophet about Fu Yu was his will to live.

Compared to other active Skeletons, Fu Yu showed strong world-weariness in his growth stage.

Uninterested in anything, unwilling to engage much with others...

Whenever he sensed soone trying to get close, Fu Yu would virtualize, escape into the Nether Realm, refusing to establish contact and communication.

Once Fu Yu took several tis longer than normal Skeletons to complete the graduation trial, his world-weariness beca even more evident.

Predictably, Fu Yu’s condition attracted Tianyou’s attention.

As the patriarch of the Skeleton race, although Tianyou’s behaviors are often unconventional, his care for the Skeletons is beyond doubt.

To help solve Fu Yu’s psychological problems.

Tianyou sought help for a long ti, ultimately gaining the assistance of a Netherworld Celestial Monarch, exceptionally allowing Fu Yu to beco a ferryman between the Yin and Yang Realms.

Tianyou believed that the reason for Fu Yu’s intense world-weariness was significantly due to a lack of understanding of the horrors of Death.

Thus, letting Fu Yu witness those ghosts lingering in the mortal world due to obsession might help in establishing a correct view of life and death.

Indeed, Tianyou’s approach proved effective to so extent.

After witnessing those ghosts unwilling to et Death, Fu Yu indeed learned the value of Life.

But what truly restored Fu Yu’s desire to live was a Yellow Springs tribe—Spider Woman, who committed great wrongs and was sentenced to wander the mortal world.

......................................................

"Here is Jingxu Heaven."

Floating amid the sea of clouds, Fu Yu, with an indifferent expression, said softly.

At that mont, Fu Yu was in a state of virtualization, exuding a cold Death aura from his whole being.

His body existed between being and not being, visible only to those special creatures with the Celestial Eye in this form.

Even in this cloud sea above, neither touching the sky nor the ground.

Virtualized Fu Yu still moved as if walking on solid ground, unaffected in his every move.

"Hmm."

With a light hum, a massive shadow erged from within Fu Yu.

This massive shadow carried an even more suffocating aura of Death than Fu Yu, along with a deeply embedded sadness that could not be concealed.

When the shadow finally beca a tangible entity.

A Yellow Springs tribe, adorned with various talismans and shackles, appeared.

Her towering figure surpassed that of normal creatures, with slender limbs hanging down like sharpened blades.

As she unfolded completely, her spider-like humanoid form stood fully revealed before Fu Yu.

Six slender arms pseudo-embraced Fu Yu, as if protecting a treasured possession.

The three pairs of spider eyes on her cheeks surveyed the surroundings warily, ready to face any impending threats.

Furthermore, the chains ford by talismans and shackles extended into the void, limiting every move of the Spider Woman.

"No need to be so tense, it’s just a routine investigation."

Gently patting the Spider Woman’s slender arm, Fu Yu’s face now showed a tenderness one would never expect from a world-weary person.

"I know!"

"But I will protect you, always and forever."

With a hint of stubbornness, the Spider Woman’s voice whispered into Fu Yu’s ear.

As a Yellow Springs tribe burdened with shackles, sentenced to wander the mortal world, the Spider Woman’s obstinacy was as outstanding as her strength.
