Woo-Seong looked at Mar-Dule with displeasure and said.
"I didn’t sneak out to escape punishnt. I was pardoned from any punishnt for being the one to report my Clan’s wrongdoings."
"Heh. Now that you’re back, you’re not planning on entering the Tournant, right? That would be stupid."
Mar-Dule said with a sneer, and Woo-Seong clenched his fists and lowered his head.
"Of course I’m entering the Tournant. My Sect is in a bad state so I need to secure a spot in the top three so I can get the monetary reward. I also heard that the disciples who achieve the top three spots would be able to request sothing from top powers on both Continents. If I manage to get one of those spots, then I can ask the Sect Leader of the Shaolin Sect to reduce or even lift the sentence of my Sect."
Mar-Dule frowned when he heard that.
"Reduce the sentence? Yeah that’s agreeable, but lift the sentence altogether? That’s completely ridiculous. The Sect leader of the Shaolin Sect would be senile if he did that after what your Sect did."
Woo-Seong’s head shot up and he glared at Mar-Dule with anger in his eyes before asking coldly.
"You think my Sect hasn’t suffered enough for what they did?"
"No, the sentence of sixty years even seems light to ."
Mar-Dule responded flatly.
Woo-Seong suddenly released an angry laugh.
"What do you know about my Sect, what we’ve been through? Do you even know what it ans by being stripped of the title of an Holy Sect? All of our outside businesses have been taken away, including all of our reserved wealth. Not only that but every cultivator in the Earth Expanse Spiritual Realm and above was crippled!"
Sol and Yoon-Jae were surprised upon hearing that, and even Mar-Dule’s expression looked taken aback.
"Could the Wudang Sect recover from sothing like that? I never thought one of the Six Holy Sects would fall just like that."
Yoon-Jae said, surprised.
Sol paused but eventually asked.
"What about your Martial Arts Techniques?"
Woo-Seong looked at Sol with a despondent expression as he shook his head.
"They were all taken away and were probably split among the remaining Holy Sects and Great Clans. With those gone, the Wudang Sect only has its na remaining. It’s barely even considered a Sect now."
Suddenly, Mar-Dule rembered sothing, and he chuckled before saying.
"You say all your experts were crippled, but who knows if that’s really the case? Your Wudang Sect might be hiding more experts."
"What?"
Woo-Seong was confused by this. Their Sect didn’t have any hidden experts.
Gritting his teeth, he said.
"I know what my Sect did was unforgivable, but this is going too far. Hasn’t the older generation who was responsible for those atrocious acts suffered punishnt for it by having their cultivations crippled? But with the state the Sect is in right now, even the younger generation who were clueless about everything are being trapped within the Sect while suffering. Especially the Mortal servants. Things have gotten so bad their dying from starvation. It’s not so bad for remaining cultivators in the Mortal Realm, but the situation is still dire, and it will only get worse as ti goes on."
Upon hearing that, Sol, Yoon-Jae, and Mar-Dule fell silent.
Innocent people were being affected.
Mar-Dule thought back to what he had said, that the sentence of sixty years should be longer, and he kind of regretted it.
Woo-Seong then added.
"After I joined the rcenary Association and accepted missions, I’ve managed to stabilize things from the money I’ve made, but I’m only one person trying to support thousands. The money isn’t enough, that’s why I need to get a top-three spot in the Tournant."
Woo-Seong fists clenched tighter, and a blazing fire of determination was seen in his eyes.
After listening to everything Woo-Seong had said, Sol and the others could tell that he was carrying a lot on his shoulders.
However, Woo-Seong suddenly added.
"I didn’t say this to seek sympathy or anything. What my father and the elders did was unforgivable, and our Sect was punished for it. Now I’ll rebuild the Sect and make up for their mistakes, no matter what it takes. But I’ll do it with my own hands, I don’t need any help."
Woo-Seong’s words sounded a bit harsh, but he only said it so Sol and the others didn’t try to offer help. If they did, and it was found out, it would draw the ire of everyone in Jianghu. They would be treated the sa way the Wudang Sect was being treated right now.
The other Holy Sects and Great Clans might even use Yoon-Jae and Mar-Dule’s involvent as a springboard to fra the Barbarian Race and the Kunlun Sect for colluding with the Wudang Sect.
Even if it might seem like the Holy Sects and Great Clans were united at tis, in reality, each of them has their own agendas and they wouldn’t hesitate to destroy each other for profit.
Mar-Dule suddenly snorted.
"You’re underestimating my kindness; I wouldn’t have helped you even if you ca crawling on your knees begging. As for you coming third in the Tournant, don’t think about it if you’re up against ."
Woo-Seong suddenly grinned at Mar-Dule while battle intent flickered in his eyes.
"I carry the will and the survival of my entire Sect. Even if there is God in front of , I’ll cut him down with my sword all the sa."
As Mar-Dule and Woo-Seong glared at each other, Sol suddenly asked.
"Why haven’t I heard about the Tournant being talked about? Isn’t it happening soon?"
Mar-Dule stopped clashing with Woo-Seong and said with a frown.
"Its happening in a month precisely. As for why it isn’t being talked about much, that’s because the Academy hasn’t announced anything much about it yet. We don’t even know where the Tournant is being held. The only thing that was announced was the monetary reward and the opportunity to request sothing from the various powers on either Continent. And even then, the announcent about the monetary reward was vague and didn’t have the exact amount."
Will it just be Aether Stones, or will there be other cultivation resources in that reward? It might as well all be rumors at this point.
As the chatted the group final approached the Teleportation Hall.
After thinking for a mont, Sol said.
"I think the announcent of the changes in the Academy is related to the Tournant sohow."
Woo-Seong and Mar-Dule nodded.
"Yoon-Jae, what do you think?"
Sol turned to Yoon-Jae and asked.
However, Yoon-Jae, who hadn’t said much since leaving the Martial Hall Pagoda, seed to be in thought and wasn’t listening to the conversation. But he snapped out of it upon hearing Sol’s question.
"Ah, sorry, what were you saying?"
