The demon anwhile was panicking but it was calming itself down as it began thinking, "This isn’t an irrational demigod as I would have been dead already so from his previous expression. When we t he Only has a curious expression aning"
"If I satisfy his curiosity then I can safely leave, besides he knows nothing of my existence yet" the demon thought before it spoke out loud.
"I have to think of the way I address him" the demon thought to itself, "I apologize for my behavior, it is my first ti eting a creature such as yours"
"Really, if then why run after showing signs of attacking " Ikem said as he observed the deer up and down.
"That was a Mistake on my part, I thought you were just another strong animal stepping into my territory so I made a move to attack but your strength is clearly above mine so I ran" the demon said with a look of sincerity.
But Ikem for so reason found it hard to grab hold off, he felt the creature was lying and obviously recognised him. "I don’t believe you" Ikem said straight up catching the demon off guard.
Ikem smiled seeing the deer expression, one thing he rembered from his dad when dealing with soone you know is clearly lying is to tell them straight up the truth.
"One thing it does Son is, it throws their whole rhythm and now it is for you to sit back and watch as they try to make sense of their lie to you" Ikem smiled at the mory looking at the deer to know what else it would co up with.
The demon still trying to salvage the situation said "No, really! I-I didn’t recognise you. I am just an ear creature and sotis I get scared easily. Please believe "
Ikem, unmoved by the attempt at deception, raised an eyebrow. "Scared easily, huh? For a creature tht supposedly doesn’t recognise , you seem to know a lot about my strength"
"Damn it" the demon thought as it struggled to co up with a plausible explanation. "You see it’s a weird talent of mine, I can recognise strong creatures which is why I could similarly gauge your strength"
Ikem heard that beca more intrigued, as he has always been curious about magical animals and their weird talent, " is this talent also how even now you still don’t radiate any life force"
"Indeed,I can show you" the demon said and Ikem didn’t know what it did but he could now sense the creature’s life force.
"Interesting, I am curious about your talent and unusual cunningness. Why don’t you accompany as I journey to my friend’s place" Ikem asked as he let go of the deer.
"Hell no" the demon almost scread those exact word out loud, but instead it held back as it put in a pitiful appearance " I sadly can’t strong one, I have a family and territory to protect and take care off"
"Another lie" Ikem said as he stood up, " you are certainly an interesting creature but to bad I have sowhere to be, hope we et again soday"
Ikem said as he began walking away, if a close look is taken at where Ikem was holding the deer, a red small root can be seen taken place among the hairs looking inconspicuous "We most certainly will et again when I have the ti" Ikem thought to himself with a smirk.
anwhile the demon left behind can be seen collapsed to the ground while taking deep breaths, "I did it, I managed to trick him" the demon thought to itself.
"I really made a good choice on giving up conquering this world after taking over this deer, I finally have my own consciousness won’t lose on the grand sche of putting myself together only to lose my own new sense of being"
"If I play it right, this world can beco my new ho as for the abyss I want nothing to do with their bullshit" The demon thought as it stood up.
"I should be far away from this place as possible in case this demigod cos back and wants to forcefully take with him"
The demon legs bulged again as it began speeding off into the distance, Ikem walked out of a tree nearby as he looked at the deer speeding away.
"Indeed an interesting creature" Ikem thought to himself as he began sprinting off into the distance too as he was now delayed from the encounter with the deer.
It didn’t take much ti as Ikem got close to the familiar forest where the shrine is located. Slowly walking into the forest, Ikem noticed the familiar fruit sll was no longer as the teor tore down a lot of trees.
As he continued walking, he picked up on a distinct voice coming from the front and he felt the mana around being used.
Soon he walked out to the clearing to see, apeling uniquely dressed up in robes as the used spells to clear and rebuild the destroyed area.
What attracted Ikem’s attention the most was the huge tree at the center of the clearing whose branches are stretched out to pull up bebrisis. As soon as they are pushed to the side, the apelings nearby move forward to pick up what was left from the cleared area.
The appearance of a giant in the clearing got everyone’s attention, as soon as everyone saw Ikem they all dropped what they were holding in their hands as they all took a knee.
"Welco back to the holy ground, your majesty" all the apelings said out loud as they welcod Ikem back.
Ikem smiling at the gesture, motioned for them to stand up as he looked around "I see they have been much loss here"
One apeling walked toward to answer Ikem question, "Indeed your highness, most of us managed to get into the cave protection from rain of fire"
Ikem tapped the shoulder of the apeling as he walked towards the tree "That is good to hear son, I don’t want to hold you back from doing your work"
"Never your highness" the apeling said as he bowed towards Ikem who smiled waving off the apeling.
"I see you are doing well. Osisi" Ikem said out loud to the tree and he stretched out his hand to touch it.
"And you yourself had been growing up fine as well" a branch stretched from the tree tapping Ikem shoulder.
"We have a lot to catch up on but first, I have to go pay my respect to father" Ikem said as he walked by Osisi to walk into the cave where a statue of father was.
The sa statute is also placed back at the mountain, even all households held a smaller version of it to pray to their god when everyone they want to.
But for all apelings, the statue at the place of the shrine is different, maybe it was because it was at the place where the birth of their race started but whenever an apelings cos to the shrine, they all make sure to pay their respect first.
As he walked closer to the cave, the more Ikem shrunk in size and was now back to the height of 6 feet. Walking into the cave, Ikem took in the sight of the amazing work done.
Before taking a knee with his eyes closed, Ikem said nothing the whole ti but only stayed in this position, a whole 10 minutes passed before Ikem stood up looking at the statue "I can’t wait for you to wake up dad, the change you talked about maybe kicking off soon"
A wave of green light ca from the statue and fell all over Ikem, who closed his eyes and he took in the sensation of feeling his father’s blessing.
Smiling, Ikem walked out of the cave and a sll soon caught his nose, "You guys are making make regret not visiting here often huh"
Ikem walked to a huge jar to tear it open, and was t with a sight of purple liquid that was brimming with mana. Taking the cup handed to him by the apeling, Ikem scooped up a large portion of the drink and held his he’d up downing it.
"Wow, this one is different" Ikem said as he scooped up once more.
This was one of our discovery over the years your highness, "we found out that animals behaved strangely after eating fruit that can be considered rotten so our further research into this led to the creation of this drink"
" Still fruity and tasty, but we noticed too much consumption of it leads to lethargy and incoherence, best of all the more it is carefully saved the better it is" The apeling beside Ikem said as he watched their king downing the jar.
"Osis, I bet you have been enjoying this all to yourself this whole ti" Ikem said as he looked at Osisi who now had one of his roots into a jar of his own.
