“Aren’t you going to ask who made him kill all those people?” Lan Yu tilted her head and looked at An Xiaxia.

Actually, she had pretty much guessed it. Lan Yu was probably the one giving the orders.

Lan Yu smiled, greeting someone behind An Xiaxia. “You’re back.”
An Xiaxia turned around to find that Kang Jian had arrived with two pots of lucky bamboo. His face turned livid when he saw Lan Yu.
“Why are you here?”
“To visit your first love, of course. Well, you have very good taste.” Lan Yu darted him a look, her eyes bright.
“You’ve seen her, you can go now. Bye,” Kang Jian said coldly.
Lan Yu shrugged. “The host has manded and the guest shall leave.”
She then gave An Xiaxia a nod. “See you around. Bye.”
“Bye bye…”
After Lan Yu left, Kang Jian put the pots on the table, watered the bamboo, and said to An Xiaxia in a frustrated voice, “Just ignore her.”
An Xiaxia nibbled her fingers. “Alright…”
Both of them were at a loss over what to say and silence fell between them. To lighten the mood, An Xiaxia tried to say something funny. “She told me you like me, hahaha! That’s just so funny!”
Kang Jian didn’t laugh.
An Xiaxia’s laughter was the only sound that resonated in the room, and she thought she was going to die from embarrassment.
“Is it?” Kang Jian forced a smile and said in a self-mocking tone, “She was right. I like you very much, since a long time ago.”
Everyone knew it except her.

“Xiaxia, what would you like for dinner?” Kang Jian changed the subject abruptly.
An Xiaxia lowered her head and apologized in a fluster. “I’m sorry…”
True feelings should never be a laughing matter.
