Wu Hanxiao said reluctantly, “Why should I give you anything?”
“Fine! Keep it! I’ll write it off as ‘dog food’!” The manager spat at Wu Hanxiao, who had yet to realize that he had just cast away his last life-saving straw.

The parking lot.
The security guard had gotten rid of the snake, but Ai Bao was still quite shaken.
An Yibei rubbed her head. “There, there.”
There was something especially intimate about that touch. Ai Bao blushed and looked away.
An Yibei lowered his head, tapped around on his phone, and looked back up. “I’ve transferred the money to you.”

Whatever unorthodox means An Yibei had used, he was only trying to help her. So, fawning over him made total sense!
Ai Bao was blank as she stole a glance at An Yibei, checking his reaction.
Was Mr. An… smiling?
It wasn’t a sneer, a smirk, or the indifferent, mocking smile he usually had on.
It was a wholehearted smile that looked genuine!
Had she pleased Mr. An with those words, then?
