Sui Zimo saw that they were unable to rescue the old clan leader, so he decided to go over.
Just as he was about to take a step, Lin Caisang pulled him back. He turned his head, looking at Lin Caisang with confusion.

"Zimo, if I’m not mistaken, these vines can sense when soone finds the chanism, and that’s when they attack. Lu Tianfeng probably got too lucky and found the chanism right away, which is why he was ambushed by those vines and eventually fainted and got thrown out."
Lin Caisang explained seriously to Sui Zimo.
Upon hearing this, Sui Zimo paused in silence, realizing that it was the truth.
"Then should we unlock that chanism first?" He suggested.
"Okay."
Lin Caisang agreed.
She also thought earlier that if they could unlock the chanism, those vines might stop appearing, right?
For now, it’s okay as they’re only entangling the old clan leader. The old clan leader is a spirit beast and quite large. Even if he is poisoned, he won’t be in trouble for a while.
But it’s different for others; if they got entangled by those vines...
The two simultaneously turned their heads to look at Captain Liu, who was ditating and resting nearby. He is a living example right before them.

"Yuan Jue, you stay here and guard Captain Liu, while we go check the chanism." Sui Zimo glanced at Yuan Jue, who hadn’t gone over to help, and instructed him.

He didn’t go there earlier, not because he didn’t want to help the old clan leader.
It’s just that only Lin Caisang, Sui Zimo, and Captain Liu are left here. If the vines attack, Sui Zimo can protect Lin Caisang, but what about Captain Liu?

After reaching an agreent with Yuan Jue, Sui Zimo took Lin Caisang to the chanism he found.
Just as they were about to approach the chanism, the vines seed to sense them again and attacked, blocking them two ters away.

Looking at the vines preventing them from approaching the chanism, Lin Caisang remarked.
"Whether it can sense us or not, we must get through this!" Sui Zimo snorted lightly, protecting Lin Caisang with one hand while swinging his sword with the other, emitting spiritual energy.
In the next mont, many of the vines blocking them were destroyed, yet so remained.
"Zimo, don’t worry about protecting . I can take care of myself." Lin Caisang said to Sui Zimo.
Of course, she wouldn’t hold him back either. The whip in her hand lashed out towards the vines, dispersing the remaining ones with just one strike.
However, even though those vines were scattered, several new ones ca over, blocking them once again.
Seeing this, Sui Zimo had no choice but to let go of Lin Caisang.
"Be careful yourself."
He advised her, then focused on dealing with these vines.
anwhile, Lin Caisang stood behind him, guarding him to prevent the vines from attacking them covertly.
Believe it or not, these vines seed to have beco spirits, and really knew how to ambush them. If Lin Caisang hadn’t been on guard, they might have succeeded in their sneak attack!
