Late at night…

"What do you think? Am I handso?"

Aldrian stood in front of the mirror, a confident smile on his face.

"You're far too narcissistic. It's truly disgusting," the voice said coldly.

Aldrian paid no mind. In his eyes, he was handso—far more than his siblings. At least, that's what he believed, whether or not it matched reality.

Once satisfied with his appearance, he straightened his clothes and walked toward Seira's room. Tonight, he intended to claim her as his.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes as a scenario played out in his mind.

One of the voice's suggestions was to use force.

He planned to take advantage of Seira's brief lapse, sleep with her, and trap her—leaving her no choice but to beco his wife.

Aldrian knew it was cruel and disgusting. Seira would probably hate him.

But he felt he had no other option. His gut told him that if he missed tonight, all his efforts would be wasted, and Seira would be gone for good.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny, thumb-sized vial of potion.

The potion could render anyone who drank it weak and defenseless. He had obtained it from his mother, who shockingly approved of his plan.

She even offered advice: "If possible, use a recording device and keep it as evidence. That way, Seira won't be able to escape your grasp."

Though it felt unethical, Aldrian believed it was the most effective way to ensure his control later.

He took a deep breath, cald his racing heart, and slipped the vial back into his pocket.

When he reached Seira's door, he knocked, about to call out—when suddenly, the door swung open on its own.

Seira appeared, dressed in a stunning black gown.

"Seira, you…" Aldrian's eyes widened, unable to look away.

The strapless dress showed off her pale, graceful neck and a hint of cleavage.

Black opera gloves ran from her fingers up to her elbows.

Her hair was tied in an elegant double-twist crown braid that suited her perfectly.

A white necklace hung around her neck, and bracelets and rings decorated her right hand. Yet sohow, it didn't feel flashy—she looked effortlessly elegant.

The skirt of her dress was full, but not too much—after all, this was a dinner gown, not a party dress.

"What's wrong?" Seira's calm voice pulled him out of his daze.

"Ah! Nothing…" Aldrian scratched the back of his head, smiling awkwardly. "I… I was just distracted by how beautiful you look."

It was a clumsy complint—most won would've rolled their eyes.

But not Seira. She smiled sweetly and gave a small nod.

"Thank you. Let's go."

Aldrian's face brightened. "Right! Let's go!"

They walked side by side toward the palace exit, unaware that soone was silently watching from the shadows.

***

The capital of the Ancient Kingdom of Eron was Altheris. As the kingdom's heart, it was naturally the most prosperous and beautiful city.

Its buildings had been carefully maintained for thousands of years. The architecture looked ancient, yet far from dull—it almost seed brand new.

That gave Altheris a charm all its own, setting it apart from the capitals of other kingdoms or empires on the continent.

People went about their daily business with smiles. Even though chaos had erupted in the palace a few days earlier, life in the city went on as usual.

At that mont, a beautiful horse-drawn carriage rolled down the main street, pulled by two majestic white horses.

Everyone imdiately knew where it ca from—the royal family.

"The royal family's carriage, huh? It's not every day you see that."

"Yeah. After what happened that night, I thought they'd stay hidden, but here they are. Bold as ever."

"Shh! Watch your mouth! You want to get yourself killed?"

Whispers ran through the crowd. It was common for the people to hold grudges against the so-called nobles.

The Ancient Kingdom of Eron worked differently from other kingdoms. The royal family held absolute power, and no one could question them. Even the noble families had no real say.

Because of this, many nobles secretly spread propaganda against the royals.

On top of that, so ministers and palace officials often acted on their own whims, pouring gasoline on an already smoldering fire.

It wasn't entirely wrong for Gulvar to worry. If this discontent kept being ignored, it was only a matter of ti before everything blew up.

Just then, the horse-drawn carriage ca to a stop in front of a luxurious restaurant at the heart of the city.

A footman stepped forward and opened the carriage door.

A mont later, Aldrian stepped out, wearing a confident smile.

He reached his right hand inside, and Seira erged gracefully.

She showed no sign of disgust at his touch, which sent a thrill through Aldrian.

Until now, Seira had always rejected his advances, leaving him frustrated and insecure.

But this ti was different. She had accepted his touch, signaling—at least in part—that she was letting him close.

Suddenly, Seira pulled her hand away and walked into the restaurant.

Aldrian's smile froze, and the air turned awkward in an instant.

"Ahem!" he cleared his throat, then shot a cold glance at the footman beside him. "Thank you."

Without another word, he followed Seira inside.

The restaurant was beautiful, with classic lamps hanging from the ceiling.

The lighting was soft, creating a cozy, semi-dark atmosphere perfect for dinner.

Seira and Aldrian were t right away by the restaurant manager.

"Good evening, Your Highness," he said.

His na was Rugard, the manager of the restaurant.

Seeing soone as distinguished as Aldrian, his heart leapt with excitent, and his legs almost trembled.

Of course, Aldrian had a reservation, so his arrival was expected. Still, eting the crown prince in person made Rugard excited, looking forward to the praise he'd get from his superiors later.

"Thank you," Aldrian said calmly. "Is the table ready?"

"It is, Your Highness. Please follow ."

Rugard gave a slight bow and led them to their prepared table.

Not long after they left, two other guests arrived and were greeted by a server.

"Nolan, do you want the VIP area or the regular section?" Alina asked softly.

Nolan stroked his chin thoughtfully. "VIP area. It's more comfortable."

"Alright," Alina nodded and asked the server to take them to the VIP room.

Unbeknownst to her, a small smile appeared on Nolan's lips as he watched the two figures disappear into the distance.
