Chapter 127: Discipline
After leaving lia’s office, Nyx arrived at the monastery’s library—what he regarded as both the most precious and the most dangerous place.

Nyx pushed the door open, and the sound of an argunt imdiately t his ears.
"Oscar, you idiot! How could you be so reckless in categorizing the subjects?"
"Look at your classification—《Habits of Goats and Sheep》 placed together with 《Gourt Foods and Spices》?!"
"Are you trying to teach people how to raise sheep, understand sheep, or just tell them how to eat sheep?"
"How would those commoners even afford spices?!"
These were the three scholars brought in from the Three Western Baronies.
They were berating Oscar harshly, while Oscar’s face showed traces of grievance.
All three of them were highly respected scholars. Though Oscar possessed a glib tongue, it was easily seen through, and thus, in straightforward argunts, he consistently fell short.
"Yes, you’re right. However, at this mont, I am the monastery’s instructor. The bishop has granted the freedom to decide how I conduct my teaching, so you have no authority to interfere with how I categorize the subjects,"Oscar finally snapped, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Perhaps in a few days, they too will beco instructors of the monastery,"Nyx interjected, breaking their quarrel.
"Why are you here today? Isn’t this not your lecture day?"Oscar quickly shifted the topic.
"I had a few matters to attend to today, and I also wanted to check in on you three,"Nyx replied with a smile.
"Seems like you’re living rather comfortably here,"he said.
The three scholars exchanged glances. Finally, the eldest among them spoke.
"Yes, in terms of treatnt, it’s quite good. But we’d like to know—what exactly is the purpose of capturing us like this?"
"Whether it's to kill us or to make us do sothing—we want a clear answer. Even if that answer is our death."
His expression was solemn as he stared at Nyx.
"Of course, there will be no killing. Although the bishop has yet to issue a direct order, he respects the three of you greatly and hopes you will remain to impart knowledge to the apprentices,"Nyx responded slowly.
"Given the current turmoil in the territory, I believe you can guess the chaos. The bishop simply hasn't had the chance to et you."
"And frankly, I don’t think you’ll want to see the bishop too often in the future either,"Oscar added.
It was a candid remark, devoid of hesitation.
Nyx did not refute him.
The three scholars realized the gravity of the situation.
"This is a monastery—a place to teach knowledge and the Lord’s Teachings. Of course, faith is a matter of freedom, so for the apprentices, this will be more a place of learning."

"Thus, I wish to invite the three of you on behalf of the bishop to beco instructors at the monastery,"Nyx stated slowly.

The other two remained silent. Clearly, the three of them had discussed this in recent days.
"Then I will do my utmost to plead with the bishop for your lives,"Nyx said.
At the side, Oscar chuckled.
"...We will need to consider it,"the three said after exchanging looks.
"Of course. The bishop is always patient. But it’s best if you can give your answer before I leave,"Nyx replied.
"I know you’re not afraid of death. But as a fellow scholar, I give you my word—this place is worth staying in."
The three departed—they needed ti to discuss.
"Will you be residing at the monastery for so ti?"After they left, Oscar asked.
"Yes. I will soon depart with Wolf’s warriors on a campaign,"Nyx replied.

"A rather impulsive lord,"Oscar remarked with difficulty.

"Heh,"Nyx chuckled.

"..."Oscar opened his mouth but ended up saying nothing. He rely shook his head.
"Still, at your age, you’re going to war with the army？"Oscar sat down, looked at Nyx, and asked.
"Healing Potions and Bandages—only priests can make them. And right now, I’m the only priest in the Church,"Nyx replied."Of course, for this expedition, I’ll be bringing those three young n from the Knight Wolf family. They are monks—perhaps after this war, they will beco priests."
"Since you’ve said it yourself, then by the ti they return, the Church should have three more priests,"Oscar said. Even now, he didn’t quite understand the bishop’s strictness toward priests, but he understood the words the bishop spoke.

It wasn’t due to Corleon’s silence command—it was that he didn’t know how to say it.
"No need to overthink. For a scholar, my age is already quite advanced,"Nyx instead offered a word of comfort.
"lia’s father was a close friend of mine. I will treat her as my own daughter,"Oscar said seriously."Although I don’t think lia would be happy about it, I still accepted on her behalf,"Nyx chuckled, then said,"I want to ask for your help."
"Please speak,"Oscar responded.
