Now reading: Chapter 400. Problem (2) from The Hunter of the Other World Who Is Being Misunderstood, a Action novel by 대대원.

He had kill'd any other hunter who tried to enter. Who on earth would take whom on? Surely the esper about to attempt the raid wouldn't be knocked down like an ordinary human, would he? When the burly man said that, everyone around him froze for a mont. But in a situation like this, it was also true that nobody could really stop him if he decided to act recklessly.

What exactly do you expect us to do?

Even if the high-ranking officials of the Hunter Association were all gathered together.

Honestly, we don't know what that man might do with the dungeon. I don't want to let him in while ignoring all the procedures, but the dungeon break is too urgent to grab his sleeve and tell him not to go, isn't it?

Rather than forcing decent A-rank hunters into it, it was better to at least trust a man like that. Once, officials, police, and the rest—most of the authorities controlling the scene had the sa thought at the sa ti.

And the mont Kang Changho realized that no one could stop him, he moved forward with confidence, strolling leisurely toward the nest of beasts.

Step, step, step.

The awakened one soon disappeared beyond the shimring passage to the otherworld.

When exactly are the top-tier hunters who went to the 6th [Sin Classification] coming back?

They said it'll still be quite a while. The gate appeared way out over the sea, and even if they flew back the mont they got the news, it'd take well over fifteen minutes to get here.

As soon as the third S-rank hunter disappeared, the remaining hunters hurriedly gathered to discuss counterasures.

He hadn't shown his face until now, so why on earth did he suddenly decide to step into this one?

Still, at the back of their minds, a certain suspicion lingered.

Could it be that he really went in there to get an epic item?

The hunter nad Kang Changho was the type who could flip his stance as easily as letting your palm, and no one would be surprised. Because of that, with the possibility of unpredictable variables at any mont, those gathered at the scene called in additional esper security forces to the heart of the city, just in case of a dungeon break.

***

A few tense minutes passed like that.

For reference, Seoul was a city with an exceptionally complex layout. There were even cases where towering high-rises were packed black after block without a single break. So, even if soone managed to pull off a [Teleportation] spell, once inside Seoul, they would still have to struggle to navigate its maze-like streets all over again.

Got it.

Of course, the re fact that he had managed to land cleanly in Seoul in one go was already an impressive feat in itself.

Looks like my old skills haven't rusted after all. On an alien planet where I barely even know the terrain, how many mages could pull off a spatial leap this precise?

Smrk.

A few minutes after clearing the Castle of Pride, a well-known figure appeared on the asphalt-covered road. His golden hair looked so dry it seed like static might spark at any mont. A winter coat of wool clung perfectly to his fra, without a single wrinkle out of place. The man straightened his posture as adjusted the knot of the robe-like coat wrapped around his torso.

Hmm.

This striking figure was none other than Kim Giryeo, a state-certified S-rank. During his younger years, his features had often been dismissed as unlikable, but in recent tis, they had suddenly begun receiving high praise abroad. Such was the way of the world—value shifted with ti and perspective. Of course, duality wasn't sothing unique to Kim Giryeo alone.

Co to think of it, I've wondered for a while now. Why do Earthlings make their phones with built-in batteries? Wouldn't a replaceable power source—like with a remote control or even a golem—have far more advantages?

Tik.

Kim Giryeo lifted his device, its battery sitting at roughly 32%. The mont he returned to the area, he placed another call to soone.

Hunter Kim Giryeo, have you arrived in Seoul?

Just set foot on the ground.

Such an unusual incident had erupted that, the mont he initiated a new call to share updates with the Association official in real ti, it felt only natural. Of course, the fact that he had used teleportation magic without regard for attribute restrictions had already been explained away with the convenient excuse: 'I used an item.'

Earth, with its developed internet, really is convenient and nice. But since there's so much information floating around, sotis it makes lying feel a little too easy—

Anyway, everything on board had wrapped up cleanly. But no matter how busy he'd been perfecting his spell, there'd been no need to shut his ears completely for the past few minutes. In other words, even as an alien lifeform, he'd still received so degree of the latest news.

But this really is unexpected.

Kim Giryeo set aside his distractions and turned his thoughts back to the the of duality.

That Kang Changho actually showed up at the [Castle of Sloth].

On top of that, Korea's third S-rank hunter had gone so far as to take the stance that he would conquer the dungeon outright. What on earth was his intention? Amid the haze of doubts rising like mist, Kim Giryeo continued his contemplation.

When he was in front of , he was so firm about not accepting any kind of verbal contract.

The eyes of soone—known in physiognomy as fish eyes—shifted slightly.

But this feels less like a prank and more like sothing I should be suspicious of. Considering the distance between Earthling's residence and the gate's appearance point, his arrival ti is... quite interesting.

Ti was an elent that needed to be taken seriously. What's more, even at this very mont, the archmage was literally running around on foot because every single second counted.

That primitive mage must've already set out before I even placed the call. Ah, that explains all the static cutting into the line—riding an open motorcycle like that, the wind would've been rushing past like mad.

Kim Giryeo finally pieced together the reason behind the mysterious drop in call quality.

But before he could dwell on soone's whimsical choice of commute, there was news waiting that was far more shocking.

How's the situation on-site? The break hasn't happened yet, right?

Yes, Yes, Hunter-nim.

The so-called Castle of Sloth's asured mana output had slightly exceeded the recognized threshold for an A-rank... Still, unlike the appearance of [Nuckelavee], it hadn't completely broken past the scale altogether. Even so, the result was an unwelco miscalculation. Japan—long prone to natural disasters, and just when it seed life was finally becoming manageable—had already beco the stage for one ergency after another: the Dungeon Shock, the [Black Dragon], the [Sky Island] incident...

And then there was the United States, which had been caught up in extre early-stage occupation signals like the sudden manifestation of mana auroras. Of course, nations like that were more than justified in asking, 'Why do these extraordinary problems keep happening to us?' But as always, the stance one takes depends entirely on where they stand in the world.

At that mont, Kim Giryeo grumbled that Korea seed unusually prone to incidents and accidents, all while continuing on his way. For the record, ever since he had stepped off the water onto dry land, the blond hunter had been running nonstop toward a single destination.

Almost there.

The unique gate-detection ability of a mage ant there was no need to bother turning on an app like Y-Map. With the innate intuition of his soul, he tracked down the [Castle of Sloth]. But even though finding the way was over, plenty of worries still remained.

A monster nest swarming with ard beasts, and the plan is to just send in a single fellow ranker? That's it?

Kim Giryeo thought briefly. He had made all those proposals under the firm belief that the [Sin Classification] would be relatively weak. But now that the situation had warped this far, common sense dictated that not only was clearing the gate impossible—even a simple holding strategy would be nearly unworkable.

Kang Changho must not be killed thoughtlessly...

Those petty concerns about human life. He thought he'd stop doing that once he'd regained all his magic.

Even if he had plenty of actions in the past worth painting in a flattering light, the truth remained that he still was an S-rank ex-convict who once casually beat down the weakling Choi Jin. And yet—since he occasionally proved useful, he couldn't simply be discarded. That would be a waste.

Anyway, he decided to keep him alive for now.

Kim Giryeo wrapped up his line of judgnt that was way and hurriedly arrived at the center of the incident.

Huh? Hunter Kim Giryeo...

It's Hunter Kim Giryeo!

Where? Ah! It's over there.

The industry people encircling the scene were easy enough to push back. Who could possibly stop him when he flashed a hunting license stamped with the gleaming letters S-rank?

Just a mont. But before entering, Hunter Kang Changho was acting extrely aggressively—

Ah, I can handle it easily. So, the Association mbers should just go update the list of attackers.

The team left first on the [White Bird] would still have a few minutes left before they arrived. Therefore, Kim Giryeo wasted no ti and entered the Gate first.

Hmm?

As soon as he entered the otherworld space, a surprising sight greeted him.

A towering castle with spires piercing the sky. Black plants that hadn't even been given a scientific na yet. Up to this point, it clearly didn't seem any different from any other Sin Classifications.

But what on earth was this tower of corpses strewn all around?

People? No, just birds?

Soon, he ca across the ambiguous creatures in the courtyard of [Castle of Sloth], creatures so unclear that it was even questionable whether they could be classified as birds. They were all dead. Their bulky muscles seed to express, in another form, the dungeon's concept of 'diligence.' Alongside them lay various pieces of war machinery that revealed the intelligence level of their enemies. At a glance, it was obvious that dealing with the many monsters of the Castle of Sloth wouldn't be easy—yet here they were, scattered around like trash.

All of them have holes in their necks.

Upon examining the corpses more closely, it seed as if they had fought among themselves like wild beasts.

The actual blood loss is minimal. Still, it looks like they all died from punctured airways.

This isn't so kind of Jenga tower or anything.

Hmm.

It seed that the Sin Classification of Sloth had a characteristic of overwhelming numbers. Even with such an enormous tower built, magical activity could still be observed in various places.

There are still quite a few monsters left.

But there was no need to chase after such petty underlings. Looking around further, he noticed human footprints in the pools of blood. The steps, with their long strides, led all the way to the nearby black castle. Realizing that another 'Earthling' body was present here besides himself, Kim Giryeo sharpened his instincts. Then, astonishing information struck him clearly in his mind.

He's already taking on the boss...

The report that the king of this tiny world called [Sin Classification] was being destroyed in real ti made him widen his eyes, as he absorbed the magical information conveyed by the archmage's spirit.

So that ans the dungeon is almost cleared, then.

There's only a single primitive hunter in here. But this is really a plausible speed for a dungeon clear?

Of course, I arrived later than the dungeon break would occur, but this progress is far faster than I expected.

At that mont, as befits the owner of the [Dragon's Eye], it seed the other side had also noticed the entrant. Soon, near the edge of the distant castle, the awakened one appeared to halt in their actions. Kim Giryeo wondered what magic had been cast to cause this, but if the opponent insisted on concealing their skills so firmly, there was nothing he could do for the ti being.

First, let's head toward the boss.

Anyway, despite all the worries, it was a small relief that the human sentinel maintaining the gate boundary was unhard.

However, even knowing that the native had survived, Kim Giryeo couldn't smile comfortably. No matter how minor the overflow might seem, the enemies here were monsters rated S-rank. Moreover, with potent status-altering magic spreading across the entire space—reportedly exceeding A-rank—the opponent had still managed to complete a solo run with ease.

Wow... I an, I had my doubts ever since the U.S., but... as expected, it really is like that!

What did all of this signify? The archmage pondered to himself, estimating the magnitude of skill that the notoriously lazy third S-rank hunter had been concealing.

That damn mammal... he didn't betray out of fear of dying in Kagoshima!

To appear more refined, he really ought to start cutting down on swearing. His wandering thoughts didn't linger any longer. Though drained from using [Spatial Leap] and all sorts of other magic, his basic physical strength was now quite serviceable. Thus, Kim Giryeo soon reached the interior of the black castle with ease.

Even here, the stairs are a complete ss.

In addition, in front of the massive iron gate marking the boss's domain, a man in his thirties was seated on one of the highest steps.

Hmm.

Seeing him hunched over with shadows cast across his face, it was hard not to recall that interview where he'd said, 'If anyone enters the dungeon, I'll kill them.'

The masses of mammals are fools.

Before he could even speak his first proper words, the blonde awakener briefly recalled the owner of the body who happened to share the sa na.

There are so many of those on the planet, why do you keep saying this body looks fierce? Now that I see it, Kim Giryeo's aura is practically sweet. Damn it.

Well, for now, conversation takes priority over whining about looks...
