Now reading: Chapter 59: Yu Tingwan, Why Are You Crying? from The Husband I Snatched Is Not Right!, a Historical novel by Wen Qing.

Yu Tingwan’s eyes showed not a hint of fear, viewing Wei Qintian as a re clown. She watched as Wei Qintian strode over with a grim expression, raising his hand nacingly.

She said coldly, "Either beat to death and find a way to dispose of the body without letting anyone discover it, evade the Governnt Office’s investigation. But do you dare to commit murder?"

She glanced at Mrs. Qu, whose face still bore obvious bruises.

Yu Tingwan knew Mrs. Qu wouldn’t be able to keep this pregnancy. In her past life, she had been beaten into a miscarriage by a drunken Wei Qintian.

"I’m just speaking so truths, why can’t you bear to hear them?"

"You can be domineering in the house and beat your wife without anyone caring, but if you harm , once I step out of the Wei Family’s old residence, it will definitely cause an uproar among everyone."

"Previously, you were criticized for the Wei Shen incident for years, which must have been distressing. These years, you had to painstakingly manage your image, only to face the possibility of its collapse at any ti."

"But you do care about your reputation, don’t you?"

Wei Qintian’s hand stopped mid-air.

He was clearly caught in a vulnerable spot.

Yu Tingwan said aningfully, "Even if you don’t care about your dignity, you should think about your three younger brothers beside you; they’re your blood brothers, and you can’t harm them too. They haven’t married yet."

With each word she spoke, it felt like a knife stabbing the hearts of the Wei Family.

"There’s already little money at hand, making it difficult to marry. If word gets out that n from the Wei Family’s main branch beat won, who would dare marry their daughters off?"

Yu Tingwan needed to get back for the New Year’s Eve dinner and had no ti for pointless argunts with these people.

She tossed the money onto the table, placed the vegetables down, and turned to leave.

This left the Wei Family dumbfounded.

Soone coming to their house, causing a scene, and then leaving behind money?

Yu Tingwan walked a few steps, suddenly thought of sothing, paused, and said lightly.

"Oh, I forgot to ntion, I’m the wife Wei Shen just married."

"Father and mother were too concerned, which allowed you to overstep your boundaries. But I’m not them, so you’d better not provoke ."

The words stirred up a great commotion.

Wei Shoucai was astonished, forgetting his anger and gave Yu Tingwan a glance, "Lang got married? How co I didn’t know?"

Zhuang i was shocked, "When did this happen?"

After asking this, she realized.

That’s right, there were fireworks set off in the village earlier.

But at that ti Mrs. Wei was causing a huge commotion, and the whole household was too busy to go out and see.

Zhuang i sneered, her foolish sister-in-law would take any trash. Yu Tingwan clearly didn’t seem to be the compliant type. She might run off with soone else before long.

Mrs. Wei knitted her brows tightly, shrill voice, "So you two were involved all along!"

No wonder they dealt with her like that before!

She’s co now, aggressively, on behalf of the second branch to resentfully suffocate her!

She slamd the table heavily, "What does the second branch an by this, sending you to anger to death?"

"Where is he?"

"Tell him to get over here!"

Mrs. Wei’s face was dark as ink, "It’s New Year’s Eve, bringing pickled radish! Doesn’t every household have this? How could they be so shaless to bring it over? And only half a plate, previously the second branch always brought at dishes!"

Indeed, it was only half a plate.

It was generous enough to give.

Hui Niang’s radish was well-pickled, and Yu Tingwan had eaten quite a bit of it on the way over.

As she was about to leave, she stepped back and picked up the dish with her hands.

"If you don’t want it, that’s fine, I’ll take it back."

Mrs. Wei was fuming, pointing at the money on the table.

"So little, really for beggars?"

"The separation docunt clearly states, not a penny less."

"As for you insisting on calling yourself a beggar, I can’t stop you."

The young lady looked at her disheveled white hair and crumpled clothes, accommodatingly adding, "But you sure do look the part. With a limp, you could compete for a al on the streets."

Mrs. Wei clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.

"Eldest! Throw her out for !"

But Wei Shoucai didn’t move.

He frowned tightly, trying to catch any fault with the second branch.

"I know the second branch bears a grudge from back then, it’s understandable for him to resent , but why would Lang marry without even inviting his mother!"

"Truly no sense of decorum!"

"I must personally ask if this is appropriate!"

Yu Tingwan: "The Village Chief and the Wei Family’s clan elder didn’t say anything, implicitly approving. Their rank is higher than yours, so why are you so agitated?"

Wei Shoucai: ...

"Even so, he should co over and say sothing! He’s completely ignoring his mother."

Say what? Invite you to cause trouble?

Yu Tingwan directly walked out, not bothering to engage.

The chicken at ho was stewed with mushrooms, and rice mixed with the broth would certainly taste delicious!

Thinking of this, Yu Tingwan couldn’t wait any longer.

"Sothing’s not right."

Behind her ca Zhuang i’s voice, "I’ve often gone out these days, how co nobody in the village ntioned it to ?"

She should have heard sothing.

Not just her, but many in the house had been kept in the dark for days.

How could the second branch have the ability to silence the entire village?

Just after she said this, the entire main branch fell into deep thought.

The village wasn’t that big, why hadn’t they heard any rumors?

Yu Tingwan had left the Wei Family’s old residence.

But the wind carried her voice back inside.

Very softly, but filled with endless mockery.

"Do you have any idea how disliked you are? Even asking such silly questions, I feel embarrassed for you."

Yu Tingwan felt a rush of catharsis with her words, still faintly hearing their grumbling complaints back at the Wei Family’s old residence.

She munched on pickled radish and walked back, clattering along.

Hui Niang had been waiting at the door for a long ti, seeing her co back with a usual, cheerful smile indicated no big trouble, she finally felt relieved.

"Mother, is it ti to eat?"

"Yes, go call Lang. I’ve kept it warm in the pot, worried it might get too cold. I’ll bring it out now."

Yu Tingwan responded elegantly, "Okay."

The smile on her face vanished, though, as she entered the house.

Wei Zhao had coughed blood again.

Unlike the previous ti he had purposely startled Yu Tingwan.

Nor was it the sa as before when he nonchalantly wiped away the blood with a handkerchief just before coughing violently.

This ti, lying on the bed uncontrollably, blood gushed out profusely, staining his cotton clothes bright red, the tallic scent of blood pervading the air.

As if everything tasted bitter.

His ears buzzed ceaselessly, his vision darkened, words blurring.

Wei Zhao’s expression remained calm, no sign of pain.

Everything happened so suddenly.

Yu Tingwan’s pupils contracted sharply, collapsing at the bedside, her legs went weak.

Her eyes flickered with panic, but in the extre fear, she couldn’t scream brokenly.

Her body trembled incessantly.

"Hu... husband."

Yu Tingwan tried to stanch the ever-flowing blood, but the liquid trickled through her fingers.

Wei Zhao couldn’t clearly see the young lady’s face, yet tears dropped onto his neck, absurdly hot.

For so reason, Wei Zhao raised his head to touch them.

They were moist.

"Yu Tingwan."

His Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice hoarse, asking quietly, "Why are you crying?"
