Chapter 92: Greetings, Fellow Daoist

As soon as these words were spoken, all the guards were startled.

In the wilderness, even a ruined temple by the official road was by no ans safe.

“Stay alert!”

The leading guard spoke.

Miss Yunqing was at the middle tier of the Qi Realm—naturally, no one would doubt her words.

At this mont, all the guards imdiately drew their weapons and gathered around the carriage, guarding both sides while vigilantly staring into the distance.

“Clatter, clatter, clatter…”

Before long, the sound of horse hooves approached from afar, growing clearer.

“At least thirty people.”

The guard captain listened for a mont, his expression grave as he spoke, “Miss, should we leave first?”

“It’s too late—they’re coming for us!”

Li Yunqing stood before the carriage, her eyes shimring like water. Even from afar, she clearly saw the approaching figures.

Thirty-five people, carrying a statue. Judging by their attire, they were almost identical to the God-Worship Sect mbers who had once stord the Li Residence.

Clearly, these were all disciples of the God-Worship Sect, and they had co for her.

She had only traveled five hundred li out of Qingzhou City, and they had already caught up.

“Prepare for battle.”

Li Yunqing spoke softly, her fingers beneath her sleeve gripping the Flying Sword.

The opponents were not particularly strong—only five were Qi Realm martial artists, while the rest were all in the Initial Realm.

She was not afraid—she could even wipe them out with a single strike.

Only that statue gave off an eerie aura, making it difficult for her to gauge the situation.

“An Evil God?”

Li Yunqing’s thoughts stirred, not daring to be careless in the slightest.

Especially since this was her first ti facing an Evil God.

“Clatter, clatter, clatter…”

The sound of hooves rapidly approached, and within monts, they had arrived before the ruined temple.

Five Qi Realm cultivators stood at the front, while the others carried the statue, forming a fan-shaped encirclent around the temple entrance.

“Thud!”

As everyone ca to a stop, the statue—over a person’s height—was placed on the ground with a heavy sound.

“Don’t let a single one escape!”

“That young woman is a sacrifice for our god—no one is to touch her. As for the rest… kill them!”

The five leaders spoke. With a wave of their hands, the group surged forward.

Behind them, the statue suddenly opened its eyes.

Its blood-red pupils resembled those of a ferocious beast, staring directly at Li Yunqing and the others.

In that instant, ti and space seed to grow viscous. The air and wind seed to vanish entirely.

All surrounding sounds beca stretched and sluggish.

It was as if everyone’s thoughts and perceptions had been pulled infinitely long—becoming unbearably slow.

“So this is the power of an Evil God?”

Li Yunqing was startled. This felt like space being solidified, the body being restrained.

Her Yin Spirit trembled slightly, and as magical power circulated through her body, that sensation quickly dissipated.

Yet she could still clearly see that the guards around her—including Xiaolan—their expressions and movents had beco extrely slow.

Even the motions of their hands resembled slow motion.

In contrast, the God-Worship Sect disciples were completely unaffected. With a flash, they had already closed in.

Weapons gleaming with cold light, they struck without holding back.

Li Yunqing could even feel the statue’s blood-red gaze filled with intense greed, fixed upon her.

It was like looking at a delicious prey.

“Buzz!”

The Flying Sword in Li Yunqing’s hand silently extended, transforming into a three-foot-long blade.

A chilling cold aura suddenly burst forth from her body.

Frost and snow instantly began to fall from the sky, while a layer of ice ford across the ground.

“Clang!”

Li Yunqing raised her sword, boundless cold gathering upon its blade, humming incessantly.

Just as she was about to strike—

A crisp voice suddenly rang out above everyone’s heads.

“Hm?”

At the mont the voice fell, heaven and earth seed to freeze.

The God-Worship Sect disciples, as well as the guards around Li Yunqing, were all locked in place, unable to move.

It was as if they had been immobilized—or as if space itself had frozen.

In the next instant, Li Yunqing saw a phantom figure descend from the sky.

It was a young woman who appeared no more than eighteen or nineteen, dressed in white robes, her long hair flowing, untouched by dust—like an immortal descending into the mortal world.

“Could this be a Yang Spirit?”

“Solidifying space? Restraining the body?”

Li Yunqing was shocked.

This ability was strikingly similar to that of the statue carried by the God-Worship Sect.

Yet the power emanating from this woman in white was far stronger—instantly freezing everyone in place.

Li Yunqing’s Yin Spirit trembled as she circulated magical power throughout her body, finally breaking free from that frozen state.

Yet her body still felt heavy, as if burdened by a mountain, her movents extrely slow.

Closing her eyes, her Yin Spirit leaped forth, finally escaping the restraint.

But she could still feel that her physical body was bound by an invisible force, and she could even more clearly sense the overwhelming strength of the woman in white.

The woman paused slightly, glancing in surprise at Li Yunqing’s Yin Spirit, then nodded faintly.

She then raised a finger and pointed toward the statue.

Li Yunqing clearly saw that within the statue’s blood-red pupils was terror and pleading.

But the woman’s finger did not stop—it pressed directly onto the statue.

“Buzz!”

The statue trembled, then shattered into powder.

A blood-wrapped, murky, illusory figure appeared.

Like an extrely weak Yin Spirit, it was pinched between the woman’s slender fingers.

Without any extra movent, the blood-covered figure trembled violently.

Then endless crimson peeled away, leaving only a strand of pure, radiant light, which the woman absorbed into her body.

In that instant, her originally sowhat illusory form beca noticeably more solid.

Then she waved her hand lightly, as if an invisible breeze passed by.

From the foreheads of the thirty-five God-Worship Sect disciples, faint strands of light were drawn out. Their bodies went limp and collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

Thirty-five strands of light gathered together, impurities falling away like grains of sand.

Finally, the pure radiant essence was once again absorbed into the woman’s body.

At that mont, her figure beca even more solid.

If not for light passing through her body, she would have appeared no different from a living person.

After finishing all this, the woman in white turned to Li Yunqing again and waved her hand slightly. The air instantly resud flowing.

The twelve guards, including Xiaolan, all ca back to their senses, looking at the woman with extre vigilance.

Clearly, they had witnessed everything that had just happened.

They simply had been unable to react due to the invisible restraint.

“So this is the power of a Yang Spirit?”

Li Yunqing’s Yin Spirit returned to her body, her heart still filled with shock.

A Yang Spirit leaving the body could control space itself—freezing everything, restraining physical bodies.

She suddenly recalled the records in the dicine King Scripture.

On the path of immortal cultivation, the Nascent Soul realm ford the nascent soul—a fusion of magical power and the Yin Spirit.

As for the Primordial Spirit, it could only be cultivated in the Spirit Transformation realm, ford after the nascent soul underwent refinent through the laws of heaven and earth and lightning tribulation.

In other words, it was a fusion of magical power, Yang Spirit, and the laws of heaven and earth, possessing terrifying divine abilities.

With a single thought, one could overturn mountains and seas—such beings were called great divine ability users. Once they passed the heavenly tribulation, they would truly step into the realm of immortals.

Since the woman before her possessed a Yang Spirit, even in the Age of Immortals and Gods, she would have been a major figure in the Spirit Transformation realm.

At this mont, the woman’s gaze lingered on Li Yunqing for a long ti before she raised her hand in a Daoist salute from afar.

“Greetings, fellow Daoist.”

Her voice did not travel through the air but directly entered Li Yunqing’s mind.

“It seems, fellow Daoist, that you awakened early and already possess a physical body.”

“And your talent and appearance are both extraordinary.”

At this point, the woman hesitated slightly before saying:

“I wonder if fellow Daoist could do a favor—bear a female infant for to reside in. There will certainly be generous compensation.”

Li Yunqing: “???”
