The Incubus System Chapter 669. The Demon Hunter Chairwoman II

I closed my eyes and allowed the information to flood my mind, taking on a tumultuous journey of discovery. My heart raced within my chest as I delved deeper into the Association's intentions, and my senses heightened to an almost unbearable degree. It was then that I saw the truth, the senator's real intentions laid bare before , like an open book.

My mind reeled as I realized the magnitude of their plan - to make their puppet, a hero with no desire or emotion other than to fight the demons that plagued our world. The reason for their devious sche? My late human father and myself - The Great Demon, to be precise.

It was all clear to now. They had succeeded in creating a vaccine that would create the strongest demon hunter. My father was supposed to be its host. But fate had other plans and my father passed away before he could take the vaccine. They could not simply let this powerful antidote go to waste, and thus I beca their new target.

The Association, however, had a problem. I was not a fighter. Nathan had deed a coward after the last encounter we had. He even though I didn't have any will to fight. So, they decided to erase all my emotions and mories. In doing so, I would beco a weapon, a tool for their own twisted purposes. They would have complete control over , and I would be nothing more than a shell, devoid of any spark of humanity.

The Great Demon was their strongest reason for carrying out this devious plan. The crack in the veil that separated our world from the demons had only heightened their sense of urgency, leaving them with no choice but to act fast.

It was Damian who had beco their main reason for needing a reliable warrior imdiately. The senators had summoned Nathan before to test his ttle against the Great Demon, to see if he was truly capable of defeating such a formidable foe. But based on what had happened in our last encounter, it was clear that the power gap between us was too vast. Nathan and Mrs. Clea were no match for , and even their secret weapon was useless against my strength.

Despite the fact that The Great Demon had helped them on several occasions, my re existence and my gray position in the world made the senators afraid. The thought that there was another great power out there that they could not control was a terrifying prospect for them. It was no wonder that a plan to turn Ethan Strongheart into the senators' weapon was urgently needed.

I unearthed so startling revelations. It appeared that the senators had been investigating my blood and Celia's for over a year. The implications of this discovery were chilling, as it ant that they had been planning this sche for much longer than I had initially thought.

But that wasn't the only thing that made my heart race. I also learned that Mrs. Clea had tried to cover up the fact that her subordinates had found a bit of my blood in the office where I had died. She had been perplexed by the fact that I had co out unscathed, and had not said a word about it to anyone about that blood. It was a close call.

That realization was also the reason why Mrs. Clea had been spying on all this ti. She had been biding her ti, waiting for the right opportunity to present itself. And when Ruby had entered the picture, Mrs. Clea had seized the chance to take advantage of her crazy love to spy on .

I sifted through Mrs. Clea's mories and ca across a conversation she had with the senators. It seed she had attempted to negotiate with them, begging them to spare and Celia from their sinister plot. Having lost our father and been used as bait for demons for an entire year, she implored them to show us rcy and put an end to their twisted plans.

But her pleas fell on deaf ears. The senators were determined to go ahead with their sche, regardless of the consequences. And so, Mrs. Clea found herself in an impossible situation, torn between her loyalty to the senators and her love for my dad.

It was no wonder then, that Ruby had been worried sick about when I disappeared. She had seen first-hand how ruthless and determined the senators could be and feared the worst for . And so, she had texted incessantly, desperate for any news about my whereabouts.

I opened my eyes with a gasp, the rush of information still fresh in my mind. My heart pounded in my chest as if I had just completed an intense workout. Beads of sweat ford on my forehead, despite the cool air of the room.

'That's why…' I thought. My emotions were a turbulent mix of sadness, anger, disappointnt, and gratitude, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for her. Despite the loss of my father and the dangers that lood over us, she had not given up on us. And for that, I was truly grateful.

I glanced at Alan who was playing with my pets in the corner of the room, watching him interact with my furry friends, and made sure he didn't pay attention to .

Then I turned my gaze to Mrs. Clea. With a snap, I canceled My Mind Corruption skill. Mrs. Clea's eyes cleared, and she blinked a couple of tis. Her face regained its natural color. She was once again fully present at the mont.
