"It's okay, Ethan. I'll protect you," she whispered soothingly, her hand gently stroking my head.

Ruby carried over to a nearby car and unceremoniously deposited my limp body in the backseat. My arms and legs were swiftly bound with strong, tight knots that left with minimal mobility. To ensure my silence, she covered my mouth with a strip of duct tape, effectively muffling any protests or questions.

With surprising swiftness, Ruby moved to a sturdy chair that was strategically placed in the center of the room. Her adept hands efficiently secured my wrists and ankles, fastening them to the chair's arms and legs. In a re ten minutes, she had completely immobilized.
