"I said I would answer you, but you have to form a contract with first," I snarled at her.
But Ruby wasn't one to back down easily. Her determination blazed in her eyes, and she squared her shoulders, unwavering. "No. Give my answer first. I have to find out what happened to Ethan or whoever you are. Do you still have your own heart as a human? Or have you completely turned into a demon?" she demanded, her voice holding an edge of desperation.
A low growl rumbled in my throat.
"I'll answer later," I snarled once again, my grip on her tightening in warning.
"I want it now," Ruby asserted, her gaze unyielding despite the precarious situation. "At least I want to know who I have loved all this ti. I want to know whether you are just pretending or not…" Her voice had shifted from defiance to a calr, more asured tone. "But if you can't do it, just count this as a dead end for both of us…" She emphasized her willingness to et the consequences of her actions.
The silence between us stretched, heavy.
It was a tense mont.
Then, she broke the silence. "You can kill since I just want to belong to him..." The clarity left no room for doubt; she was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that the entity before her was indeed Ethan.
My expression shifted.
With a heavy sigh, I withdrew my hand from her, although she remained ensnared by my Dark Bound skill.
"Seriously? Why are you making things harder, Ruby?" I questioned, exasperation seeping into my tone.
