Lex was ready for a curse, or so devastating attack, or maybe another attempt at enslaving him. Yet nothing happened. Though there was a possibility that not enough of the attack reached Lex to have an effect, he doubted it.

He checked his body, soul and mind ti and ti again, using his spirit sense, and his eyes that could see through everything, but found nothing. It was only when he exerted his tenet to his utmost that Lex felt that there seed to be sothing foreign attached to his body, like so kind of causality. But he could not sense it properly.

Whatever this was, it was clearly related to a very high level Relational law, which is why Lex could not sense it properly. But how did an Earth Immortal use Relational laws? The answer eluded Lex.

In fact, while Lex did not discover what Kreel had done to Lex, he did observe sothing else. His long latent ability, Murderer, activated. Well, to be fair, Murderer was not Lex’s ability, but a feature of the Inn.

Murderer was a feature the Inn gained after he absorbed the Murderer system, and it allowed Lex to absorb an ability or skill of his opponent as long as he killed them outside the Inn. The ability hardly ever activated though - not that Lex went around murdering people.

It was primarily because the concept of a stronger opponent was tricky. Even if an opponent had a higher cultivation realm than Lex, they may not qualify as stronger than Lex, which is why typically, if Lex killed soone, the ability would not activate.

The fact that it was activating now made it clear that despite being in the sa realm, Kreel was considered stronger than Lex.

Lex was quite curious about how Murderer worked, so he took a mont to observe how the ability was affecting him. It seed that a number of laws were leaving so kind of an imprint on Lex’s soul. He’d never detected it before because he hadn’t been strong enough to sense it.

Now, though, as the imprint was completed, Lex felt an innate understanding of a new ability fill him. At the sa ti, he could see that his body was beginning to absorb the soul imprint. When the imprint was completely absorbed, the ability would beco his permanently. For now, it was rely sothing he could activate through the imprint itself.

The ability Lex gained was not mind blowingly amazing or anything like that. It only made his spirit sense more perceptive towards the spirit senses of others.

Not only would this allow him to keep his own spirit sense hidden from others, but he’d be able to eavesdrop on their conversations that occurred through spirit sense without being detected.

The ability was useful, but at the mont he was too distracted by the unknown changes Kreel had caused to his body, and what his intentions had been throughout the fight.

The fight was well and truly over, which was a relief, but not completely. There were things Lex didn’t understand, for example, why Kreel would sacrifice so many slaves in a suicide attack for little to no gain?

Lex could still understand the move if the slaves had been acting under orders given previously by masters who had since died. But since Kreel was alive, he could have retained the army instead of blowing it up. Even if he didn’t imdiately win the fight, he would have remained in a better position. If nothing else, they could have remained as his bodyguards until he recovered from his injuries.

Whatever the answer may be, Lex had no way of finding out anymore. He grabbed the chariot Kreel had been using, and carefully channeled his energy into it, and faced no resistance.

Unfortunately, the chariot was nothing special. It was a flying tool, and though its speed was impressive, it played no part in keeping Kreel hidden.

Still, out of caution, Lex placed it in a separate spatial tool and then sealed the tool, before returning to the castle.

"The fight seems to be over for now, but don’t let down your guard. We might need to stay here for a while until Kaemon and the others heal up," he said to Leonidas.

"We’ll take care of it," Leonidas stated confidently.

Lex nodded, and then moved on.

There weren’t enough Recovery Pods in the castle for all the rcenaries, but they could at least rest in Recovery rooms, so that’s where Lex went. Just as he expected, the Recovery room was full, and the Inn staff could also be seen running about, treating and attending to all the injured guests.

Kaemon, who was in severe need of a Recovery pod, however, was sitting weakly on a chair near the entrance, waiting for Lex.

"I wasn’t sure if I’d see you again," he said weakly.

"When I felt the ferocity of the white light, I also began to doubt if you all could survive. It seems I was worried for nothing," responded Lex.

"That’s not what I was talking about," Kaemon said weakly. "Your opponent at the end, the invisible one. I am pretty sure he was from the Zai race, although I could be wrong. That’s an Elder race. The chances of our survival beca extrely questionable once he showed up. But it seems I was the one worried for nothing."

Lex looked at Kaemon, sighed, and then sat down beside him. Lex spread his spirit sense throughout the room, and then began using a healing technique to expedite everyone’s recovery.

If Lex used his blood for healing, everyone would heal even quicker, but since no one was dying, a slower healing was good enough.

"Zai race? Never heard of them. Could you care to elaborate? That was probably one of the strongest enemies I have ever faced. If he hadn’t been injured already, then the fight would have been a lot more precarious.’

Kaemon looked at him oddly.

"Don’t you run an Inn or sothing? Shouldn’t you at least know about the distinguished guests from across the universe who might visit one day? The Zai race is the 91st race on the Cosmic Ascendance Spectrum, or so I’ve heard, and they are extrely formidable. You should be proud that you could face one at all - even if it was wounded."
