Now, Lex had been watching Liz the entire ti he was inside Abaddon, so he knew so of the shenanigans she had been up to. Not that he was spying on her or anything - no, Lex had a respect for people’s privacy. But when his sister went around hugging a peak level Celestial Immortal cultivator, he had a right to look into the matter.
As it turned out, the little girl that Liz was pulling into the Chamber of Secrets was not actually a little girl - she just appeared that way to Lex. But when he observed her through the system, he knew that she was actually a sentient stuffed toy. Or, well, that’s what he thought. Turned out she was a mber of so race called the Rosy Bears who incidentally just looked like stuffed toy bears.
Levi, the Rosy Bear that Liz was pulling along, was hiding her identity by changing her appearance to look like that of a young human girl.
"Hey Liz, long ti no see. I’m glad you’re up," said Lex softly. He wasn’t sure what Liz’s attitude towards him would be, so he didn’t comnt on her friend. Last ti they talked, Liz had been extrely reluctant to have any relationship with him - or anyone else, for that matter. At least she seed like she was doing much better now.
"Oh, Lex," Liz said with an over abundance of awkwardness, as she stood up straight and cleared her throat. "I didn’t know you were back. I heard you had gone sowhere."
"I just got back a short while ago," Lex said, and looked from Liz to Levi, who was studying him with a suspicious glare.
"Oh, right. Levi, this is Lex, my brother. Don’t worry, he’s not a bad guy. He’s actually helped out a lot. Lex, this is Levi, my friend," Liz said, making introductions.
To both Lex and Levi, Liz was acting strangely. To Lex, she was not nearly as isolated and pushy as he recalled her being, and to Levi, Liz was acting a whole lot more restrained and not at all happy go lucky like she normally was.
"Hello, human," Levi said to Lex, like an ordinary little girl would.
"Hello, Rosy Bear," Lex said with an amused smile.
Levi’s eyes widened, unable to believe that a re Earth Immortal could see through her disguise. Yet before she could react, soone else also chid in.
"HEY LEX!" Nemo roared, appearing as a tattoo swimming up onto Liz’s face. "Long ti no see! Look, I made so many friends!"
Levi, who had only just recently learned about Nemo - the freaking Sovereign - who was supposed to be keeping himself a secret, was even more surprised to see Lex already knew Nemo! This was not the kind of secret one shared with family. Heck, it wasn’t the kind of secret one shared with anyone! That’s why they were heading to the chamber, because Levi insisted on having her mory sealed!
"Hey Nemo, I"m glad you’re getting along with my sister. What have the two of you been up to lately? You’ll have to tell when you have ti."
"Oh, I would love to tell you all about it, but Liz said if I reveal anymore secrets she won’t let sing in karaoke," Nemo said, sounding extrely disappointed.
Lex gave Liz a curious expression. This was one heck of a conversation.
"Wait, don’t distract ," Levi cut in, waking up from her stupor. "How can you see through my disguise?"
She tried to glare angrily at Lex, but she just ended up looking adorable instead. Lex smiled, ready to elaborate, when Vera walked out of the chamber.
"Lex? What are you doing here?" she asked, surprised. Then she turned to look at Liz, and nearly fainted, causing Lex to have to capture her.
"Nemo, please hide for a mont, my friend here can’t bear the consequences of looking at you," Lex said, straining to keep his voice normal. He had caught a collapsing woman in front of his sister. If he and Liz still had the sa relationship they used to back on earth... then he wouldn’t hear the end of it. Maybe it was a good thing she beca a loner and developed an attitude.
"You’re friends with the miracle oracle?" Levi exclaid, staring at Vera with imnse shock.
As it happened, Vera recovered as soon as Nemo hid, so she woke up to the sight of Lex holding her in his arms, looking down on her, as soone else called her a miracle oracle.
She was flattered for a mont. Then she pushed herself out of his arms.
"Lex, I’m flattered, but my future fiance is very possessive. We shouldn’t joke like this."
Lex rolled his eyes. Unfortunately, Liz, who was glaring at Vera, missed that eye roll.
Liz had overco her ntal barriers recently and was working towards rebuilding the relationship she and Lex once had. It was going to be awkward, but it was really worth it. Besides, what happened to her wasn’t Lex’s fault, and he had really helped both her and Moon out a lot. Soone like that deserved better.
So when so audacious vixen threw herself into her brother’s arms, pretending to faint, Liz turned out everything else and glared at her as if she were so evil sister-in-law who had stepped out of a cartoon movie.
"Get away from my brother, you!" Liz said, forcing herself from cursing in front of Lex. It was silly. She was an adult. She could curse if she wanted to. But her habits with Lex were still those of their youth, and she hadn’t overco her initial awkwardness either, so she didn’t know exactly what to do or what to say.
Vera, who got up on her feet, turned to look at Liz, who had scread at her, interested in who was claiming to be Lex’s sister. Instead, when she turned around, what she saw was Giselle, standing on the corner looking as if she had been coming back for sothing, frozen still at what she had seen. She froze, as her brain stopped working.
On Lex’s shoulder, Mary popped another piece of popcorn in her mouth as she watched the live rendition of a telenovella. This was just too good.
