Chapter 1759: Recovering functionality

Once all his conversations concluded, Lex returned to the volcano, resuming his work. There were a bunch of things he could focus on, but he wanted to focus all his concentration on getting rid of the Go board. Even with him focusing on it, it wasn’t as if it would be concluded quickly, so Lex really wanted to expedite it as much as possible.

At the sa ti, his thoughts couldn’t help but wander a little as well. Although Lex still felt like a twenty-five-year-old, it had been a long ti since he started the Inn. Many decades, in fact. As a twenty-five-year-old, Lex did not want to consider the specifics of how many decades it had been but… honestly, if he were a mortal, and he hadn’t died of a brain tumor, he would probably be a dad by now. It wasn’t even uncommon for mortals to be grandparents around his age.

The thought did not fill him with lancholy. Instead, Lex took this ti to feel grateful. One reason he kept insisting on his young age was because both physically and ntally, he did not feel old, nor was he weary of life. Instead, he was enjoying the hell out of it, and was looking forward to a lot more of it.

He couldn’t wait to see how the Inn developed in another twenty-five years, and then a hundred, and a thousand. Of course, this was considering years within the Midnight Realm – not so other external realm where ti flowed faster.

If things kept going the way they were, then he would continue to grow stronger, and the Inn’s overall security would be greater and greater. As such, hopefully, things would be more stable as well.

Lex also wanted to cool off on all his expeditions and spend more ti at the Inn, but first he had a bunch of stuff to do.

It was a peaceful morning when Lex took a break from making the formation, and waited just a couple of seconds. The 99 hours were completed, Lex heard the notification sound he had been waiting for.

New Notification: Absorption of the Phantasm Core is complete. System functionality has reached 51%!

New Notification: The remnant energy from the Core has been transford into MT. 1,000,000 MT has been deposited into the Innkeeper’s account.

New Notification: The Midnight Inn System has recovered enough functionality to exit its suppressed operational state. All existing system services will undergo a refinent process and may beco functionally different to their existing state.

New Notification: Basic functionality restored to minimum levels to initiate active system repair.

New Notification: New Midnight Realm Managent panel will be added to the system interface.

New Notification: New sub-quest tab will be added to the system, to issue quests to Inn employees.

New Notification: Midnight Tavern integration initiated. New features will be introduced to the taverns.

New Notification: Teleportation capabilities upgraded.

New Notification: Law managent panel non-operational! Please raise system functionality to 81% to unlock Law managent.

Remarks: Prepare yourself. There is no turning back.

Lex’s eyes flashed at the ominous ssage at the Inn, but he couldn’t pay too much attention to it right now. Although he had expected the system to regain so functionality, and to get so MT, this was beyond what he had imagined.

He could feel the difference. Literally, within his soul, he could feel an electric tingle as the system began to operate at a level never before, shaking off the lethargy that had plagued it so far.

As unbelievable as it was, the system so far really had been lethargic – at least according to its own capabilities.

But now that it had been restored to over 50% did not an it imdiately rolled out the changes. No, it began things gradually, as the system itself began to feel out its current limitations and began to prioritise which areas needed more attention than others.

Lex, the host of the system, could feel all of those slow and steady considerations being made, as if the system was informing him. After all, as the Innkeeper, his understanding of the Inn was more important than anything else.

“I’ll be right back,” Lex said to Orin, and teleported away to the Innkeepers office, putting on the Host Attire to feel the changes in even greater depth.

Unexpectedly, there was no imdiate or overwhelming change happening. In fact, none of the residents were able to detect anything at all. The services also hadn’t been imdiately overhauled.

It was, as if, the system was allowing him to dictate when and how the changes would take place. He couldn’t wait for too long though – he could tell that the thing requiring the most attention was the new Midnight Realm Managent panel.

He didn’t want the Inn to spread out across the entire realm mainly because he didn’t want to displace the residents of the realm. That was why he had placed the Inn in a specific corner of the realm. Now, though, it seed like even though the Inn itself remained in place, the Inn’s authority was spreading across the realm.

The first thing to kick in, oddly enough, was the Midnight Tavern integration, and the mont Lex saw it he couldn’t help but feel how unfortunate the timing for this had been. If he had this feature while he was in Abaddon, he wouldn’t have had to wait so many years to find chalice!

The integration made it so that the taverns basically functioned as an embassy of the Inn – aning that whatever territory that the tavern was on, was a part of the Inn. It ant that the taverns – all the taverns – were basically connected to the Midnight Inn!

He could literally walk through a certain door and enter the realm through that.

This was both a good thing and a bad thing. It was good because Lex wouldn’t need to worry about being cut off from the Inn if he ever went sowhere like Abaddon with the tavern again. It was a bad thing because it actually made the Inn itself more vulnerable.

Currently, if anyone wanted to find the Midnight Realm they could only use the golden key to find it. But once the integration was complete, each tavern would beco a potential point of entry for anyone who wanted to enter.

It was still manageable, though. The taverns could be moved around, though none of them were as easily relocated as the castle, and he could even completely withdraw them if he wanted.

The thing that really excited Lex, though, was the fact that now, the Butter Knife could be used inside the taverns as well!

The next to kick in was the sub-quest tab. This was interesting. The quests from this tab weren’t issued by Lex. Instead, they were issued by the system to all the system workers. Sothing like this had imnse potential to ss things up for Lex, because it could be a way to take control of the Inn away from him as the Innkeeper and give it to the system!

Of course, there was one major exception to prevent that from happening. Lex was the one who could control whether the sub-tab was operational or not, and the quests given would always revolve around a quest that Lex himself was doing.

For example, if Lex were doing the Abaddon quest and he enabled this tab, then the workers who went with him could have gotten mini-quests along the way to help him out. They would have gotten their own rewards as well, providing even more help.

It was like an assist feature to help Lex complete his own quests and reduce the difficulty passively.

Lex would try it out on a smaller quest with lower potential for a ss up.

The thing he was more focused towards was the way the services changed. The Inns services were already incredible. Whether it was the ditation room, the Recovery room, the Training room or any of the other things, their quality was already above most, and matched so of the best and most powerful organizations Lex had seen. If they improved even more… Lex could not imagine it! The best part was, Lex still retained the ability to design rooms of his own, so the limits of what he could do would only be defined by his own imagination.

For example, the Security room already existed – and Lex was especially waiting to see how that improved. But now, Lex was considering designing even more specific rooms so that he could create more targeted services.

Not to ntion, it was about ti he expanded the available rental options. The biggest place anyone could rent right now was a Small Village. It was about ti he created Towns and even Cities that could be rented out in their entirety for his larger clients.

Then, there was the Midnight Realm Managent panel. He was looking forward to seeing what it allowed him to do, but the panel had not made itself available just yet. He wondered what options it would bring him.

Hey guys, so let share a bit with you guys about the week I’ve had. On the 10th of July I had hair transplant surgery in Turkey – not because I’m bald or anything, but because my hairline was beginning to recede and its better to get ahead of these things.

Anyway, the surgery went great and I had no issues during or after, but as a result of the surgery, I wasn’t allowed to lie down and had to sleep sitting up. That was a lot harder than I anticipated, honestly, since the goal is that nothing should touch the hair.

anwhile, family vacation was still ongoing during the day, and I was participating as much as I was allowed to. As a result… over the past 7 days, I’ve had incredibly little sleep. The last 3 days have literally been a blur because I was like falling asleep wherever I would sit. Now I’m finally back ho, and tonight finally I expect to get so decent sleep.

Honestly, I’m going to have to reread all the chapters I wrote over the past week because I don’t rember half of what I wrote and what was going on xD so only 1 chapter for a couple of days while I figure out what I wrote and correct any mistakes I made

Apparently ppl still don’t knw abt it: discord.gg/yqCkHedcUP
