As everyone was left dumbfounded, Liu Zixuan had already left the Punishnt Hall without any intention to clean the hall anymore, returning alone to the Peach Blossom House.
Before he even reached the courtyard gate, he heard the sounds of soone cursing inside.
"My goodness, what kind of alcoholic did I run into? What originally could have lasted half a year of drinking was finished in just a few days!"
"Liu Zixuan, you scoundrel! This was Peach Blossom Brew I’ve been hiding for decades!"
No need to guess, it was Qing Lao who had returned.
Liu Zixuan cheerily walked into the courtyard, laughing, "Just got back from a few days down the mountain, how co you’ve turned into such a whiner over a few bottles of wine?"
"What do you know? That’s Peach Blossom Brew, the only one of its kind in the world!" Qing Lao grumbled, carefully lifting a cup to take a sip, as though afraid to spill a drop.
Liu Zixuan didn’t mind much, still bothered by what happened at the Punishnt Hall, and went straight over to grab a bottle, taking a few big gulps.
Wiping the corner of his mouth, he pulled out a cigarette and lit one, "Did you find those herbs?"
Upon hearing this, Qing Lao set aside his previous distress and pulled out a big box from behind him, "All inside here!"
Liu Zixuan opened the box to take a look and couldn’t help but click his tongue. The herbs he’d asked Qing Lao to find all had age requirents, none less than fifty years old. In the box, they’d all vastly exceeded Liu Zixuan’s requirents.
"Indeed, the Profound Sword Sect. For these herbs, if a regular sect or family had to find them, not to ntion whether they could even find them, even a single plant might not be sothing they could afford!"
Qing Lao waved his hand, "For the Sect Guardian Beast, sacrificing the entire Profound Sword Sect is worth it!"
He changed the subject and asked, "How long will you need to refine these dicines?"
"This level of elixir is my first attempt, and the potency it contains is beyond what ordinary people can fathom, so it’ll take at least two days." With a serious expression, Liu Zixuan continued, "And during those two days, you must ensure no one disturbs ."
"What about the sword competition in the early morning?" Qing Lao asked.
"I’ll attend as scheduled, considering it a way to clear my mind," Liu Zixuan replied.
"Alright, you’re free to choose the place for alchemy," Qing Lao said.
"Can I go to the Sword Tomb? You ntioned earlier that the Nether Fire Stone greatly aids alchemy, I’d like to refine directly there."
Listening to Liu Zixuan, Qing Lao pondered for a mont, "No problem. But you must absolutely avoid direct contact with the Nether Fire Stone."
Liu Zixuan picked up the box and said as he walked out, "Prepare so Peach Blossom Brew for ; I’ll fetch it after the sword competition tomorrow morning!"
With those words, he headed straight to the back mountain.
These past few days, Qing Lao had already explained to Liu Zixuan how to enter the Sword Tower’s Sword Tomb, so there was no need to accompany him over.
Watching his retreating figure, Qing Lao revealed a look of anticipation, "Young lad, the hope of the Profound Sword Sect rests on you!"
"Do you really think he can do it?" Just then, a mysterious figure appeared and respectfully asked Qing Lao.
The corners of Qing Lao’s mouth slightly curled up, "Do you think I went down the mountain these past few days rely to search for herbs?"
"Then..." the mysterious figure hesitated.
"Liu Zixuan is very likely a mber of that family..." Qing Lao said with a mysterious smile.
The mysterious figure froze for a mont, a gleam flashing in their eyes, "Then when do you plan to let him know your identity?"
"He’s certainly going to know my identity, but first, I need to help him with a little task," Qing Lao turned to the mysterious figure and said, "After he helps the Qilin give birth, prepare a Nether Fire Stone for him."
"Alright, I’ll get ready." The mysterious figure nodded slightly, turned, and disappeared from the spot.
Qing Lao reverted to his old caretaker appearance, picking up the Peach Blossom Brew to continue drinking.
...
Within the Sword Tomb beneath the Sword Tower.
Liu Zixuan took out the pill furnace he had previously acquired at the Seven-Star Tomb, dividing the herbs into three portions and putting one inside.
Then he activated his inner strength to directly channel the fla from the Nether Fire Stone beneath the pill furnace.
Gradually, the pill furnace slowly rose, suspended in midair.
Liu Zixuan let his qi sink into his Dantian, secretly using the Holy dical Scripture, and began the alchemy process.
As ti passed, it quickly reached the early morning of the second day.
Liu Zixuan took out the elixir from the pill furnace, looked at its color, and shook his head helplessly, "No wonder it’s a top-tier elixir as recorded in the Holy dical Scripture; it seems impossible to succeed on the first try!"
Looking at his phone to check the ti, Liu Zixuan tidied up briefly and walked out of the Sword Tomb.
As with the previous day, upon reaching the back mountain, the expert was already there, standing with a long sword in hand, exuding a regal aura.
Watching Liu Zixuan approach, the expert spoke no words and simply raised his sword.
The result was not unexpected for Liu Zixuan; he was defeated once more!
This ti, however, he was not as embarrassed as yesterday, only being pushed back by the expert’s sword.
As dawn broke, the expert sheathed his sword, "There’s slight progress, but it’s still not enough. I hope that you’ll be stronger tomorrow!"
"Sooner or later, I’ll defeat you!" Liu Zixuan said in a deep voice.
The expert chuckled coldly, "I’m looking forward to that day too."
With that, the expert turned and walked toward Sword Mountain.
Liu Zixuan squinted a bit, although he hadn’t deliberately tried out those sword techniques, the Sword Dao Profound aning he had previously grasped was still present in his mind. Facing off with that expert, he relied only on his self-taught Sword Dao, without consciously employing the Power of the Dragon Veins.
He felt that if he were to play his trump card, there might be a chance to draw with the expert.
But what he couldn’t fathom was within the Profound Sword Sect, apart from a couple of elders and Sword Venerable Ling Xiao, who on earth did Qing Lao find to spar with him?
Was the expert who just left one of the elders in disguise?
Standing there thinking for a while, Liu Zixuan returned to the Peach Blossom House, ate sothing, grabbed a bottle of Peach Blossom Brew, and once again returned to the Sword Tomb.
This cycle continued, and soon two days had passed. By noon on the third day, Liu Zixuan finally erged from the Sword Tower, looking exhausted.
Seeing him co out, Qing Lao hurriedly went to greet him.
Liu Zixuan had ntioned a minimum of two days prior, so Qing Lao had been waiting outside the Sword Tower after two days, and now seeing him co out, naturally, he was overwhelmingly excited.
As Qing Lao approached, Liu Zixuan presented a brocade box, "Didn’t let you down! I’ve finally crafted the elixir!"
"That’s wonderful..." Just as Qing Lao was about to cheer excitedly, Liu Zixuan rolled his eyes and fainted.
Crafting such an elixir demands imnse ntal effort, and after three consecutive days and nights of work, Liu Zixuan was utterly exhausted. Upon success, naturally, he could relax and sleep soundly!
Yet, unbeknownst to him, during those three days of his alchemy, another major event concerning him transpired within the sect!
