The tongue is sharper than a sword.

Rex was going to show what that saying really ans.

From the mont he saw the vindictive, petulant glint in Selvaris’ eyes—laced with irrational fury, his resolve hardened. His mind was set—focused and determined to achieve one goal. No matter the cost, no matter the struggle, he would unleash destruction without rcy.

His last persuasion for her was also the last rcy he was going to show.

Selvaris’ last chance to not make him an enemy.

Being tortured—sent into a world of spiraling pain, anyone would naturally bore hatred and anger.

But Rex was different.

Pain was his close friend—his nerves and will were already accustod to any pain.

Alas, he might be the only one in the whole world who wouldn’t harbor hatred for what Selvaris did.

Had she accepted that she was being irrational, and allowed Rex to leave, he would’ve dropped it.

However, Selvaris did none of that.

She spat at his rcy and continued to be irrational.

And that… that will be her doom.

Rex clutched the Life Gem in his hand and as he activated the Critical Ticket item, he swallowed it.

Gulp!

Kaboom!

Before Garvain could reach him, to stop whatever he was doing, sharp waves of life energy surged from Rex’s body All of the dense life energy contained within the Life Gem burst forth like an endless torrent as soon as his fangs cracked its surface.

Garvain was pushed back.

He tried to stand his ground but the force was too strong.

"Is he insane?!" Istvan exclaid, his eyes widening in disbelief as he watched Rex recklessly devour the Life Gem. The sight was beyond anything, he had ever witnessed—very irrational, utterly deranged. "A Life Gem from a Voidal Knight—especially one of that monster’s caliber could give the Obelisk of Life at least fifty years! The life energy is too pure, his body would not be able to handle it and explode!"

Even without Istvan explaining it, Garvan already knew that this was insanity.

So overbearing spirits with an Imbalanced Spiritual Vein have tried doing this in the past.

But without exception, all of them implode and die.

No matter how arrogant and confident one was with their Spiritual Vein, this was suicide.

Regardless of Rex’s situation, which would certainly end with his death, this was still a problem—for the new, united Arcalen House. All of that fighting, all of those struggles, teetering on the edge of death as they fought two monsters has beco useless.

As Rex cracked the Life Gem, this has beco a complete waste.

’Though we’re in trouble, why do I feel unsettled?’ Garvain thought in worry.

He stared ahead, resisting the overwhelming surge of life energy, his focus locked on Rex.

A vivid green light pulsed from within him, searing through every orifice of his body overwhelmingly like cracks in fragile stone. Amidst the blinding glow and the torrent of energy, Garvain could hear the raw, resounding scream—a sound of agony and power intertwined.

A scream that Rex has never unleashed no matter how battered he beca during the battle.

For two hundred years, Garvain had seen through a lot of the world.

Going through obstacles, harder as he beca older—it allowed him to create a small voice in his head.

A small voice that could determine his life and death.

A small voice that he trusted with his very being.

Despite having seen and heard the outco of reckless and arrogant spirits like Rex, who thought they were invincible even in the face of nature, countless tis—Garvain dared himself to question his own personal experience.

What if sohow, overcoming all odds, Rex succeeded?

His small voice uttered that very question.

Understanding deeply that if that were to happen then the Arcalen House was dood, Garvain burned through his rank base to draw in more power. He sacrificed his power to make one last attempt. Garvain couldn’t allow this to continue, he couldn’t allow Rex to succeed!

"Lord? What are you doing?!" Istvan sucked in a cold breath. "That rcenary is already dead!"

He could see Garvain burning through his rank base, risking regression in rank determinedly.

"Give your spear!" Garvain extended a hand and looked at Istvan with bulging eyes.

Upon hearing this, Istvan froze for a second in shock but another shout from Garvain snapped him out of his daze as he quickly handed over the azure spear. Normally, wielding others’ Soul Artifact wasn’t possible—but the Arcalen House shared a connection through Sea Dragon Arcalenta.

Not to ntion, Garvain also has the Nine-Kindred Dragon Echo inside of him, exactly like Istvan.

As soon as he grabbed the spear, he lunged forward.

Garvain’s eyes turned bloodshot, the strain he was putting on his Spiritual Veins, he felt like they were breaking as he channeled all of his life energy onto the spear’s tip, ’I don’t care what’s going to happen to , I don’t care if I regressed or even die today, but that monster must be stopped!’

Blood drizzled down Garvain’s eyes and mouth as he pushed through the energy.

His spear, overflowing with imnse power, morphed into a dragon with a deeper shade of azure, its ethereal form coiling around the weapon. Gritting his teeth, he leveled it forward and surged ahead. Even as his Spiritual Veins snapped one by one, even as exhaustion and pain clawed at his body, Garvain pressed on, he kept going until the spear’s tip was re ters from Rex.

Unfortunately, he was a second too late.

As soon as the spear’s tip was about to pierce through Rex’s body and heard, a hand stopped it.

Clang!

Swoosh!

Seeing the spear was caught by the head, Garvain’s breath hitched.

His power, his life, he poured everything into this attack but it was easily stopped and diffused.

Rex looked down at the poor feudal lord and with a simple burst of his power, Garvain was hurled away like a ragdoll. He rolled across the ground, coughing blood along the way until he was caught by Istvan who was also in a state of shock.

Under his gaze, the torrential life energy that was chaotic and rampant around Rex dispersed.

All of it was absorbed by the Soul Artifact mark on Rex’s back.

And with a gentle pulse of life energy, the end has started.

Sizzling across Rex’s body was an aura that was dozens of tis stronger than his aura before.

Not to ntion, the Minor Laws that all three Soul Artifacts have beco more evident—and oppressive, stiffening Istvan and Garvain’s bodies. Both of them could only watch in horror—Rex was able to fully devour the Life Gem and sky-rocket his rank.

On top of that, the Ember of Calamities could be seen striking him.

But the Minor Laws created a barrier, protecting him from this mix of crimson, gold, and black.

It went on for a few seconds before the colorful rays disappeared completely.

"Immortal Spirit rank…" Istvan rasped gravely. "He has broken through to the Immortal Spirit rank"

Just a mont earlier, the three of them who were all Immortal Spirits were more or less equal against Rex despite him being only an Ascendant Spirit rank. So now, as Rex reached the Immortal Spirit rank, both of them knew that they would have no chance.

Rex’s power has surged leaps and bounds, he was now in a class of his own.

As Istvan wanted to bring Garvain and run away, Rex’s gaze suddenly shifted towards him.

His entire body was then frozen on his spot as if Rex’s stare alone has the power to immobilize him.

In a deliberate, slow, and almost relaxed manner—Rex stretched his hand forward.

"Spirit Genesis," He whispered with a haunting tone as his body turned into a dark silhouette, only the Red Dawn of Kaiser retained its color and was highlighted. After a brief pause, Rex then cast his new, terrifying power from reaching the Immortal Spirit rank, "Inevitable Death"

Swoosh!

Almost instantly as those words left Rex’s lips, Istvan’s hand flew to his chest.

His fingers claw at his armor as if trying to tear away an invisible force.

Feeling the stabbing pain, his eyes widened in panic.

Even though there was no life energy, no visible attack—nothing but the cold, unyielding gaze of Rex standing several paces away, Istvan could feel the pain. Sothing was holding onto his heart, a grip made by a phantom, wrapping around his heart and squeezing it with a pressure—that made his vision blur.

Fear surged through him as he struggled to comprehend what was happening.

"A Spirit Genesis!" He exclaid as he coughed blood.

Regardless of his disbelief, the undeniable truth stands—the truth that his heart was no longer his own.

Rex’s hand, though empty and far away, clenched slowly, deliberately, and Istvan’s body convulsed.

A searing pain erupted in his chest.

Istvan wanted to scream, wanted to beg for rcy, but no sound ca out—only a wet, choking gurgle as blood welled in his throat. Rex tilted his head, his crimson eyes gleaming with a rciless light. His fingers tightened fully, and Istvan’s world exploded in agony.

A torrent of blood burst from his mouth, splattering the ground in a grotesque arc.

His legs buckled, his strength evaporating as the life drained from his body.

As he stared ahead, his vision swimming in a sea of blurriness, he was it—finality.

He saw the end inside Rex’s gaze.

Exhaling his last breath, Istvan crumpled forward, his body hitting the ground with a sickening thud.

Beside him, the paralyzed Garvain could only watch, frozen in place, as Istvan’s lifeless form sprawled in the dirt. The air was thick with the tallic tang of blood and the suffocating weight of Rex’s power. No spell, no life energy, no visible force—only the terrifying will of a monster who could kill with nothing but a thought.

Garvain breaths sang loudly as he fixed on Istvan’s corpse.

It was only then his eyes widened—the worst situation had beco a reality. Your next read is at .Côm

Despite the situation and also his condition, Garvain is unyielding as he tries to crawl away but Rex shuts that down completely. Casting the sa Spirit Genesis, both Garvain’s arms exploded into a mist of blood as he scread in pain.

His scream echoed loudly, reaching the ears of the surviving soldiers around them.

For a while now, the Voidal Pawns have already stopped.

Each one of the flying creatures fell down and died the mont the Three-faced Leecher was killed.

Due to that, all of the soldiers’ attention was focused on this scene.

Seeing Lord Garvain and Lord Istvan, the strongest and also the pillar of their houses killed with such ease erased what little hope they had inside their hearts. Running was futile. Just like what Rex did to Garvain, he could also do the sa thing to them.

Descending from the sky, Linthia and Amanir landed beside Rex.

Linthia stepped down and instantly went over to him, only to stop once Rex turned his gaze to her.

"Keep watch on them, make sure no one tries to escape," Rex commanded with an irrefutable tone.

Upon hearing this, Linthia and Amanir nodded without a question.

Rex then pivoted his body and walked over to the Three-faced Leecher’s carcass.

Once he was standing right beside it, he tilted his head.

During that last mont, for so reason, the Three-faced Leecher used its body to protect Rex.

It was surprising and he thought it to be uncharacteristic for a monster.

"I don’t know what your reason for helping and frankly, I don’t care—but now I know" Rex muttered, looking down at the carcass solemnly. "Since you helped , I supposed I need to repay that deed. In the Mortal Realm, I’m an Emperor—and I have so uses for you…"

As he said that, Rex bent down and clawed open the carcass.

Just then, a small creature was revealed—hiding inside the Three-faced Leecher’s carcass.

Sensing Rex’s nacing aura, it wiggled and shuddered.

But this made Rex smile as this was unexpected, "As repaynt, I’ll take care of your child…"
