It was a hectic day inside Dargena City.

Since the Empress' departure, along with several Silverstar Pack mbers, the people knew that there was sothing big going on. Not to ntion, the soldiers, all robust with the mastery of the yellow force, ca out of the academy and began to tighten the security.

Dozens of them were patrolling the walls, and the guards patrolling the street were also increased.

Even though none of them bothered the people too much, it was still a tell-tale sign that sothing was going on. Fortunately, today, from early in the morning, the colosseum was finally opened for the first ti ever, which eased the tension in the air a lot.

An entertainnt was held.

So of the strongest chosen soldiers were pitted against cursed creatures from the forest.

Now that the people have settled into a good routine—peaceful routine, entertainnt was welcod.

From early in the morning, people gathered there to watch the show.

Oblivious to the people, while they were watching the show, Jarvald brought along a group of soldiers, one hundred strong, to scour the entire city. Each of them moved in pairs, and they asked the people who remained ho to step out for a mont.

Since most were in the colosseum or working, only a few people saw this.

Most of them were the elderly or mothers who took care of their kids.

"Move! Finish it in an hour!"

Jarvald's voice bood across the street, forcing the soldiers to pick up their pace.

So stepped inside the houses to check, while a couple of others wrote down the people who lived in the houses. It was clear that there were so concerns that were bothering the royals, which made Jarvald co down to the street himself.

"Excuse ," A mother and son pair approached Jarvald. "Why are our houses being invaded? Does this decree go through the Emperor first? I can't imagine him allowing you to invade our hos like this, especially when most of us weren't around."

"Rest assured. This is done for safety reasons," Jarvald answered assuringly.

"Safety reason? Did we get infiltrated?"

"No, of course not. We are only searching for possible places that need to be upgraded."

Hearing this, the woman rubbed her chest in relief, "Thank goodness… I thought we're under attack."

"The Emperor is here with us," Jarvald said firmly. "Nobody dared to attack with him around."

Averting his gaze, Jarvald waited as the soldiers did their tasks.

He was frowning as he recalled what transpired yesterday.

Vivian and Jarvald were the ones in charge of dealing with the regular matters around the castle, other than making big decisions. If a big decision had to be made, Ryze would be the one to make that decision, not them.

Despite not being a Silverstar Pack mber, he's the one placed in power.

And nobody could refute him until Rex or the other inner pack mbers ca back.

Once Vivian escorted Iris and Qonvale to the main entrance, where several guards were already waiting to escort them back to the teleportation formation, she was called again—before she could even get her foot inside the castle.

But as she turned around to check, she saw a middle-aged man who stepped into the courtyard freely.

An Elf from his pointy ears and slender fra.

Judging from the sharpness of his aura, this man was also battle-hardened, dangerous.

Gelmar.

"Hmm?" Gelmar raised an eyebrow when he saw Vivian before turning to the guards. "Who is she?"

"Pleased to et you," Vivian stepped forward and answered herself. "My na is Vivian, and I'm the new Beta of the Silverstar Pack. The Emperor turned and my spouse recently, while you were away, it seed. May I know who you are?"

"I'm the first captain of the empire, Gelmar, and I need to speak with the Emperor," He replied firmly.

He couldn't engage in small banter since he brought urgent news.

Upon hearing this, Vivian nodded and gestured for him to step inside the castle.

She has heard of the three captains, coupled with how the guards reacted, this must be the real Gelmar.

No need for her to keep him outside.

Once inside, Vivian turned to face Gelmar instead of leading him to et with the Emperor.

"I'm afraid you can't et with the Emperor right now, Captain Gelmar. He's currently doing sothing important in another realm, and talking to him is out of the question," She explained clearly, telling him the real reason. "His body is defenseless right now, so nobody could et him. Even the inner mbers of the pack aren't allowed."

"Is that so…?" Gelmar placed both hands on his waist. "To whom should I speak then?"

"None of the inner mbers are present; all of them were away. Lord Ryze is the one in charge, but he doesn't want to be disturbed if it's not a big deal, and has placed in charge of handling things around the castle."

"So, I should talk to you?"

"Yes."

"Forgive for being blunt, but this is the first ti I've seen you, so I don't trust you."

Vivian nodded in understanding.

It would be weird for Gelmar to talk to her when she was really new to all of this.

He has to try trusting Vivian, but it is still hard to do, since his report is quite crucial for the empire.

"Just talk to her, I can vouch for her."

Suddenly, a voice bood inside the throne room.

Instinctively, Gelmar and Vivian snapped towards the throne and saw a figure sitting there with her legs draped over the armrest nonchalantly. She was too comfortable sitting on the throne, which made Vivian frown.

"Who is she?" Vivian asked whisperingly.

"In truth, I really don't know what she is," Gelmar smiled wryly. "But her na should be Mavenna."

"Hey!" Mavenna snapped loudly. "You do realize I can hear you, right? I'm very important to Rex, like family-level, and all it takes is one word from , and you'll both be in serious trouble. Is that what you want?"

Vivian gulped harshly.

From the way Mavenna talked, with conviction, Vivian believed her entirely.

Of course, Gelmar didn't buy it.

'She wished she was that important,' He sneered inside.

But even then, since Mavenna vouched for Vivian, he now has a bit of confidence in talking with Vivian.

"Fine, I'll tell it to you," Gelmar nodded, and turned to face Vivian. His face was serious, one that surely showed that he wasn't playing around. "While I'm helping the Humans in their territory, I was attacked by a party that's completely unaffiliated with President Sebrof…"

Gelmar recounted what happened to him so ti ago to Vivian.

One that he has been wanting to tell, but couldn't.

He explained to her that there seed to be a new party coming from another of Humanity's major cities, and this person had a different view than President Sebrof, who wanted to work hand-in-hand with the Clarentium Empire.

As Humanity needs it right now with the shortages of awakenedpower.

Upon surviving the attack, Gelmar tried talking to President Sebrof about this.

Fortunately, he managed to get hold of President Sebrof through his ssenger, who ca to their main camp. After talking extensively with the ssenger, Gelmar was practically updated on the situation that President Sebrof was handling right now.

An Awakened called Richard led the new party, and he arrived in Ratmawati City not too long ago.

He was rumored to be extrely strong, one of Humanity's greatest fighters.

And his goal in coming to this continent was to fight the invading Angel race.

Since the Angel race was already dominating one continent, the United World Organization would not allow them to take hold of this continent, which was why Richard was sent here. It was all good, their goal was comndable, but it wasn't all sunshine.

President Sebrof realized that Richard didn't co here to help Ratmawati City recover.

Going against the Angels would certainly need the city's infrastructure and forces.

But Richard refused to help the city recover.

Then, President Sebrof found out that Richard's true aim wasn't to eradicate the Angels here.

No—He was here to lure the other Angels here and make this continent a battlefield.

Richard was pushing on, turning all factions within Ratmawati City, the SCO, the UWO, and the new pariahs, all of them, to fight against the Angel race. And when he learned—that there was another force who could help, the Clarentium Empire with Rex ruling over it, he wanted to recruit the empire too.

Of course, President Sebrof was against this.

It was already a miracle that Rex was willing to help Ratmawati City rebuild.

All thanks to Giana.

Asking for more would only strain the fragile relationship that they have right now, so recruiting Rex and his empire to fight together is not a good idea. One could only hope that the Angels went too far, and provoked the Clarentium Empire too.

Only then would it make sense to band together to fight the Angels.

But to suggest it first-hand would only seem like dragging the Clarentium Empire into their ss.

Rex wouldn't appreciate that.

President Sebrof told Richard exactly that, but he knew that his words wouldn't be heeded.

And he was right.

"What do you need?" Vivian asked, raising an eyebrow. "Do you need more soldiers to hunt down this Richard? I could sense it earlier, but most of our soldiers already comprehended Yellow Force. I think hunting him is possible."

"No, that's not the point," Gelmar shook his head.

Considering the rumor, Richard should be a pseudo-tenth rank realm.

Hunting him would be futile, especially since he was surrounded by Cessation Knights all the ti.

"My point is, when I survived the ambush, I didn't feel liberated or free." Stepping closer, he leaned in, his tone lower, "I felt like sothing was off. None of the Cessation Knights—who attacked , really wanted to kill , and it was then I realized they weren't after . And when I ca around to check on the teleportation formation, I hid to go back ho in case of an ergency, I saw that soone had tampered with it."

"I'm saying, soone from Richard's side managed to get here..." He added with a troubled face.

Surviving got Gelmar thinking, what was the reason he was targeted?

And he ca to realize that his status as the first captain is the reason he was aid.

Richard wasn't on the sa page as President Sebrof; he wanted to recruit the Clarentium Empire, but to do that, he needed to know where the Clarentium Empire was. For the longest ti, the empire's location has been an additional defense layer.

Not a lot of people knew about it.

Even among the high-rank Supernatural races, only the Demons and maybe the Vampires knew.

President Sebrof also didn't know the exact location, but even if he knew, he wouldn't tell it to Richard.

So, naturally, Richard decided to take matters into his own hands.

And Gelmar's personal hut is a great place to start.

"What?!"

Vivian frowned hard, not expecting to hear such grave news.

Not only was she worried that the people would be in danger, but she was also worried that other people might co to know about Rex's situation. Rex visited the Spirit Realm in discreet—once the situation around the empire settled down.

He would be away for a few days, but that is still plenty of ti for anyone to prepare an attack.

Moreover, there's also the fact that the other inner pack mbers were away.

Only a handful could protect Dargena City.

If an attack did happen, the city would be in a really bad situation.

"Are you serious? You're saying that the city might be infiltrated?"

"Yes, and I was going to ask the Emperor to sweep the city once again to catch this person before they could report back Dargena City's location."

"In that case, we have to move quickly."

Vivian walked away, deciding to find a room for them to create a plan.

"Let's handle this ourselves." She muttered determinedly.
