A moon-shaped mirror floated above the table.

Its reflection showed the situation at the plain near Imla City where the army was staying.

Sitting on the single makeshift sofa of mutated animal hides was Evelyn, watching the progression of the siege from a distance. She saw that the main army had arrived, while Valkis and a selected few went around the city to flank their supply route and also check the fortress' progress.

Evelyn was waiting for a report from him, which should co at any mont now.

Beside her was a well-known Werewolf Shaman, Sintra.

A third-generation Werewolf who has seen more battles than ninety-nine percent of Werewolves.

All because she has a powerful War Spell called the Limitless Province.

It is a spell that would empower anyone with a mark with moonlight energy, providing a boost that could even push those at the sixth-rank realm to the tip of the seventh-rank realm. Additionally, the spell also provided a ntal clarity for as long as the spell stood, allowing Werewolves to get angrier beyond normal—while still maintaining sharp focus.

Countless battles were won because of her spell.

And now, that spell was under Evelyn's command.

Filling in the silence as she waited for the report, Evelyn turned to Sintra with a question.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Not that I can refuse. Go ahead."

She was the soon-to-be ruler of the Scarlet Banes kingdom.

Naturally, she can demand anything she wants.

"How do I compare to the past Lunas?"

"Different."

"Different? How so?"

Evelyn was intrigued.

She was sure that Sintra had worked under many Lunas before, and this was a great opportunity to learn.

"A Luna in general is cunning. Their position required them to be like that or get devoured. You are the sa as them in that aspect. But unlike them, you are cunning to everyone—including your own. All of your warmth is fake. And you hide your aggression well, which makes you dangerous."

"Hmm, I see…"

Despite the bluntness of Sintra's words, Evelyn wasn't offended.

In fact, she appreciated her bluntness as there are only a few people who dared be like that to her now.

'Of course, it's fake. I'm doing this for Rex, and the Scarlet Banes Kingdom is still not under us.'

Though Evelyn tried to show only the perfect image, there were so who could see through her façade, like Sintra. Giving the sa treatnt as the people of Dargena City to these Werewolves would be an act of unfairness from her.

At least, until the mont the Scarlet Banes Kingdom fell to her rule, she wouldn't be as compassionate.

As she nodded and looked back at the floating mirror again, her body froze.

She sensed soone approaching, several people, and all of them she recognized.

"What are they doing here…?" Evelyn mumbled in confusion.

From the side, Sintra turned as she too sensed the approaching figures.

"Are you expecting them?"

"No, but they are my people. Bring them here."

"As you wish."

Soon, Sintra ca back with familiar people.

Evelyn was confused when she saw Vivian, the Queen of the Dark Elves, and also Gelmar coming here unannounced. But seeing that the Queen was with them, there must be a problem with the Dark Elves, one that Ryze alone couldn't handle.

"Captain Gelmar, it's good to see you return safely."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. My visit to the Humans is hazardous, but it forged stronger."

Gelmar saluted like a true knight.

Nodding, Evelyn turned to Vivian, and then toward the Queen.

"I am sure there must be sothing important for all three of you here to co in such haste, " She said, noting the breathlessness in their chests. With a calm gesture, she invited them to sit across from her on the wool mat. "Forgive the poor hospitality, Dark Elf Queen—war leaves little room for such a courtesy."

"Pay it no mind, Your Imperial Majesty. I understand the situation." She answered with a polite smile.

Once all of them were seated, Evelyn remained silent.

She waited for them to speak and address this sudden visit.

But a few seconds in, and the three of them didn't say a single word, uncertain how to proceed.

"Tell it to bluntly. I'm in no mood to play around with words." Evelyn demanded.

Upon hearing this, Gelmar, who was the closest one to Evelyn, decided to be the one to explain.

"It's mostly my fault, Your Majesty…" He started.

Gelmar recounted what he told Vivian, starting from the new party arriving at Ratmawati City, how he was ambushed, and the hidden teleportation formation being used by a Human, which was most likely to be Richard.

He laid out everything without missing a single detail.

Evelyn listened with an unpleasant look.

Dealing with Princess Selene's forces already occupied his mind, so this problem is unpleasant.

Hearing that a new party has co to the continent was nothing but bad news.

A new party ant soone who might dare to cause trouble, poking on the power dynamic again.

She thought that they were done dealing with Humans, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

"So, this… Richard wanted to make us band together with him to fight the Angels? That's not going to happen, at least not for the ti being. The Emperor's parents were killed by Humans, and that kind of thing would not leave anyti soon," Evelyn said, shaking her head.

Considering that everyone practically knew about that, Richard must also know about it.

And with that in mind, Evelyn could already sense trouble.

Knowing that convincing Rex was impossible wouldn't deter him from trying, as a matter of fact, it'd probably make him craftier, planning to use underhanded tricks that Rex would certainly not take well, which would lead to more problems.

Just thinking about this alone made Evelyn's forehead throb.

At that thought, Evelyn turned to the Queen.

"And…?" She raised an eyebrow. "What does this have to do with the Dark Elves?"

"I apologize to be the bearer of bad news, but Richard managed to infiltrate us, and we can't stop him."

"Richard was able to maneuver the empire's defense, so you're not at fault."

Evelyn found no fault in that.

Since Richard was able to go through Dargena City undetected, it wasn't surprising that he was also able to infiltrate the Dark Elf Kingdom. Clearly, if he were to be the holy knight who was one of the best fighters of Humanity, he should have a peak ninth-rank realm power.

Or perhaps, he's already at the pseudo-tenth-rank realm.

But sensing the nervousness lingering in the air, Evelyn frowned in worry.

She could sense that there was sothing more.

"What? What did he do?"

Despite the direct question, none of them dared to be the one to answer.

Gelmar, Vivian, and the Queen remained silent.

Even though Evelyn doesn't have a fearso reputation like Kyran, she's still the Empress.

"I'm asking all of you right now, what did he do?'

Evelyn repeated her question, but this ti, her voice was deeper and more forceful—scaring the trio.

Eventually, Gelmar raised his gaze.

"Naela… Naela got hurt…"

For a second there, Evelyn processed what he said before her eyes imdiately widened in shock.

Gelmar wanted to elaborate, to say that Naela was fine, but Evelyn imdiately lunged forward—and covered his mouth with her hand. She stared into Gelmar's confused eyes and shook her head. Then, she turned to Sintra.

"Is the barrier up?"

"Yes, but only the protection barrier. No sound barrier."

"Oh, no…"

Evelyn's expression paled when she heard this.

She wasn't really sure what bad news these three were carrying with them.

Hearing that the Dark Elf Kingdom was infiltrated, it wasn't really a big deal, but she forgot that Naela was there. She called Kyran to help her in this war—against Princess Selene's forces, so she knew that he ca straight from the Dark Elf Kingdom.

Had she known that it was about Naela, she wouldn't have told Gelmar to say it out loud.

Looking at the trio, who were confused, Evelyn quickly reached for sothing beside her.

It was a trinket.

Sintra made this trinket to help her execute her plans.

A communication trinket that was linked to the Witch of Chaos back ho.

Knowing that there are hundreds of Alpha Pris, each with their own territory, which Evelyn needs to subdue in order to take down Princess Selene, she asked Calidora for help initially. Though it was quite hard to do, for Rex's sake, she swallowed her pride and asked Calidora's help.

But unfortunately, she was too weak to provide any help.

Thus, Evelyn has no choice but to turn to the Witch of Chaos.

Initially, she refused—still sulking in the Humming Damned Forest.

Evelyn didn't know what made her change her mind, but she did, and now, she was helping them.

Exactly as she rembered, the Witch of Chaos has several curse powers that could greatly help them.

One that she was using right now was to find the weakness of the Alpha Pris through sight.

She could find out what the designated Alpha Pri cared about the most with nothing but a look, and that was why she needed soone she could connect to. In this case, Kyran, who was the one doing the dirty work, was a perfect fit.

Panic seeped through Evelyn's composure as she gripped the trinket hard.

"Witch, can you hear ?"

"Yes."

"Did he hear us…?"

"… Yes."

"Oh no… He heard us… This is bad."

Seeing how worried Evelyn was, Gelmar leaned forward.

"What's wrong, Your Majesty?" He asked hurriedly.

None of the three knew what was going on, including Sintra, so they were naturally curious.

Especially since it's a big deal.

Evelyn sucked in a cold breath and turned towards him, "Kyran, he heard what you said…"

A bead of cold sweat drizzled down the side of Krynda's face.

He was careless.

Since he couldn't sense the Silverstar Pack mber from earlier, he should've anticipated this.

Clearly, this four-eyed Werewolf, Kyran, was tailing him to do exactly this.

"You do not have the upper hand. This city sward with my people. Even if you have a light aura, you wouldn't be able to escape this city if I alert the others right now," Krynda said, trying to remain calm even though Kyran's hand was resting on Maarka's shoulder. "Let her go, and I'll escort you out. You can hold my words."

Seeing how Krynda was trying to be composed was comndable.

He said those facts convincingly.

Had it been anyone else, they would've thought twice of hurting Maarka.

But Kyran could see through him.

"On top of having a very light aura, my senses are also extrely sharp," Kyran pointed at his ears and smirked, showing his razor-sharp fangs. "I can hear the sound of a rabbit about five miles away, or even ten if I really want to. Don't play around with … I can hear your heart pounding."

Krynda gritted his fangs hard.

Such an extre level of senses… It was really rare.

Only a few Werewolves he knew could match that feat, and that's really impressive.

"Okay, what do you want?"

"Simple. I'm here to deliver the ssage from the Empress. She would rather end this peacefully. No bloodshed. No unnecessary deaths. To achieve that, she wanted you to step out of the front gate and surrender yourself to our army in front of your people. Do that, and your Luna will be fine."

Upon hearing this, Krynda slamd his claws against the table, breaking it.

"You wanted to do sothing so humiliating?!" He roared.

"Really?" Shaking his head, Kyran pressed his claws into Maarka's shoulder, "Didn't you say it to her earlier, that you would toss everything for her? I was really impressed by your romance. It's rare to see one in this day and age."

Naturally, the words Krynda said earlier rang inside his mind again.

Like a reminder of his promise.

Kyran tilted his head, his eyes gleaming, "Or was it only a figure of speech? You didn't an it?"
