A small and minuscule bubble like the Insarka Bubble has nobody who could match a Special Voidal Knight. Even if there was one, the empire would certainly recruit them, and the chances of them staying behind are very slim.

In a situation of an attack by a powerful Voidal Monster like this, the bubble would be vulnerable.

Resources are the main currency for each existing bubble.

Every single bubble is evaluated by that simple but brutal tric. No exceptions.

Since the Insarka Bubble couldn’t provide sothing extrely valuable to the empire, they weren’t a part of the high-priority bubbles—aning, in a case of ergency, the empire would be less inclined to help them.

And over the years, the bubble had grown to be more independent.

Less inclined to ask for help, as the answer would most likely be a no.

It was a petty decision based solely on the pride of a few.

Deep down, the people, or at least the soldiers, knew that there would be a ti when the bubble’s reluctance to try and produce sothing to change the relationship dynamic with the empire would bite them, and that day had co.

’It’s over,’ The soldier let go of his broken sword—his face underneath the helt breaking into one of hopelessness as he watched the Special Voidal Knight infiltrate his ho. ’In the end, like all the other before us... We’re dood. This realm is not compatible with us anymore.’

Swoosh!

Just then, the soldiers’ eyes widened as a gush of wind brushed past him.

It was only a glimpse, but he saw soone passing.

Rex.

He had shed his human form, fully embracing the mantle of a Werewolf without restraint, and sprinted on all four with feral speed. Even though he arrived late—the Special Voidal Knight still outpaced him a bit—it was better than never arriving at all.

Screams of the people beyond the outer ring reached his ears.

Clearly, the carnage had started.

But the screams were still loud and frantic, and Rex took that as a sign that it hadn’t started for long.

You’re getting in my way, too? Then you’re going to die!

Rex’s crimson eyes glead with feral hostility as he seized the Special Voidal Knight’s tail firmly.

He was pulled forward, unable to quite stop the montum.

Despite planting his feet firmly onto the ground and pulling back with all his might, muscles bulging across his body, the Special Voidal Knight was only slowed down a bit until there was no more space for Rex to use.

Crash!

Rex was slamd against the outer ring, cracking the natural landscape.

Pulses of voidal energy burned both his hands, and his grip was slipping.

However, that wasn’t enough to shake him off.

Rex curled his fingers, coated them in life energy—and the Minor Law of Inevitability, and stabbed them into the Special Voidal Knight’s armored scales. A strained grunt tore—from his throat as the monster’s relentless montum threatened to rip his claws clean from his hands.

Fortunately, he was ready for it as he was already planting both feet against the outer ring.

"Grrrgh...!"

All of his muscles tensed to their absolute limit as his feet sank deeper.

But he held on and stopped the Special Voidal Knight dead in its tracks, his grip near the tip of its tail.

Seeing this, the soldier’s eyes almost ca out of their sockets.

’A Voidal Monster of the sa rank has multiple tis the strength of us Spirits. Normally, taking down one would need multiple Spirits at equal rank, and yet... this guy matched this gigantic serpent’s sheer strength on his own?’ He sucked in a cold breath, staring at Rex as if he was a monster.

Nobody has equal strength with a Voidal Monster of the sa rank, no matter how gifted they are.

However, that stigma was shattered by Rex.

Giving the Special Voidal Knight no ti to react, Rex tore his right hand free—and brought it down in a brutal arc, his claws slicing halfway through the tail. He frowned at the resistance—but didn’t hesitate, and potentially lose this free chance on his plate.

Savagely, he yanked his hand and ripped through the remaining flesh and scale.

He severed the tip of the tail completely.

ROAR!!

A thunderous roar shook the land once again, which was more of a squeal than a dominating roar.

But this was exactly what Rex was aiming for.

Now’s my chance!

Rex grabbed the tail again and blasted back to where the breach was, using the outer ring as a foothold to make this powerful leap. He pulled the disoriented Special Voidal Knight out and brought it away from the people.

A few hundred ters away, the tail suddenly tensed up, halting him in his tracks.

Before Rex could react, he was hauled from the ground and flicked away like a bullet.

Crash!

His body slamd against the bubble and bounced.

Every wounded soldier near the breach turned instinctively toward the source, surprised by the crash—only to find a man none of them recognized. His armor, foreign and battle-worn, made one thing clear: he wasn’t from the Insarka Bubble.

And when their eyes locked onto the crest on his chest, a winged star crest, it was clear where he was.

The House of Castillon.

But still, none of them recognized who he was despite coming from the duke’s household.

Rex rose up to his feet, ignoring the surprise and curious glances he was receiving from the soldiers, focusing only on the Special Voidal Knight ahead. Angered that its tail was severed, even though it was already starting to heal, the Special Voidal Knight focused on Rex.

It didn’t head back to the people, and that’s exactly what Rex wanted.

Even so, this was only the first step to tackle the problem.

Rex has to kill this Special Voidal Knight quickly and move on to the next bubble.

Other than the Insarka Bubble—three others still stood in the area—and each was at risk of facing the remaining two Special Voidal Knights. Ti is of the essence, and Rex couldn’t afford to hold anything back right now.

He has to go all out.

To do that, he needed to go berserk—he needs to up his rage and take everything personally.

Swoosh!

Sensing the glaring bloodlust coming from the Special Voidal Knight, Rex took off his cloak.

He grabbed it by his shoulder—and threw it away, exposing a body that was made solely for battles.

"All of my efforts hinged on this mission. The price I need to pay for failing here is too much; I couldn’t afford it." Rex said whisperingly—as he approached the serpent with steady steps. "I don’t care about anything but my goals. I don’t care if you kill thousands or even millions, but this bubble is off limits because it involves my goal."

Once he was near enough, he stopped and looked straight at the Special Voidal Knight unwaveringly.

Rex’s body and lips trembled from holding back barely restrained rage.

"Anyone who dares stand in my way—" He growled, voice guttural—and laced with barely restrained rage. In an unhinged manner, Rex raked his claws across his chest, tearing through flesh without even flinching. Blood spilled freely, painting his torso as his eyes burned with feral, murderous light. "Will die like those before them!"

Swoosh!

Almost instantly, Rex closed the distance with a sudden dash.

Several tentacles lashed onto him like a barrage of whips as the Special Voidal Knight hissed.

Boom!

Boom!

Rex dodged the attack with extre precision as he kept charging forward relentlessly.

Every lash was ant to kill—the bluish venom along the tentacle’s length made sure that anyone who got struck would be in a world of agony, which would only lead to death. But even then, Rex’s reflexes and senses were pushed beyond normal limitations.

He could see, feel, and even sll the attack coming—dodging each one effectively.

Realizing that the tentacles were futile, the Special Voidal Knight lunged with its maw wide open.

Its three-ter-long fangs are threatening to impale Rex whole.

So fast that the sudden movent broke the sound barrier.

But even then, Rex reacted swiftly—he lifted his hands, stopping the upper jaw that was about to close on him, one foot wedged against the lower jaw, and the other planted behind him, trying to stop him from being pushed backward into the creeping dark smoke of the Black Rift.

As soon as the montum stopped, Rex smirked and was about to make his move.

His thoughts halted when a bright bluish light greeted him.

From within the Special Voidal Knight’s mouth, there was a coalescing voidal energy that soon shaped into a bluish sphere. Rex’s eyes widened as he read the warning notification from the System, but even with his lightning-speed reflexes, he couldn’t react in ti.

Boom!

A venomous beam burst forth from the Special Voidal Knight’s mouth, overwhelming Rex entirely.

Everyone nearby who saw this turned their head away out of instinct.

Being hit by a Spirit Genesis from a Special Voidal Knight at point-blank range is a certain death.

Only a Spirit of a higher rank could withstand sothing this powerful.

Even the Special Voidal Knight smirked as it kept firing the beam, knowing that it had won.

Tap!

Just then, its reptilian eyes widened when it saw a hand erging from the beam and grasping its face.

Rex dragged himself out of the energy beam, his fur and skin scorched and smoldering—but they were rapidly stitching back together with unnatural speed already. An unhinged grin twisted his face as he locked eyes with the sunned Special Voidal Knight.

"I told you," He rasped, voice low and feral, "No matter what... I’ll kill anyone who stands in my way."

Crack!

Swiftly, Rex broke the Special Voidal Knight’s sharp fang and leaped out of the beam.

He grabbed the broken fang over his head with both hands and swung it down like a blade.

Splash!

It pierced through the Special Voidal Knight’s head with ease, like sinking a blade into warm butter.

Caught off guard, the serpent writhed and twisted violently—its massive body thrashing in a frenzy to shake Rex loose. Due to the blood spurting out of the entry wound, the fang’s surface beca extrely slippery, and despite his grip, Rex’s hands slipped.

Rex was thrown skyward, his body spinning violently.

He was falling down again when he managed to stabilize himself, and the world was spinning.

Shaking his head as if that would help clear his head, he looked down and saw the Special Voidal Knight had its mouth open to swallow. Rex couldn’t react in ti as he slid down its throat, swallowed whole by the massive serpent.

Rex tried catching himself, but the insides were too slippery for his claws to pierce.

Even when he managed to stop, the abdominal muscles of the serpent pushed him down further.

But this was a mistake, and the Special Voidal Knight soon ca to understand it.

Rex pushed against the contracting muscles around him as an acidic substance corroded his body from all sides. He remained calm; the pain didn’t deter him as he had experienced worse, and even under such an intense amount of stress, he activated his Minor Law of Inevitability.

From the outside, the soldiers were horrified to see this.

Seeing their savior, their last hope of survival, being swallowed, threw them back into despair.

If even Rex couldn’t win against the Special Voidal Knight, then none of them could.

Crash!

"What’s wrong with it?! Why didn’t it stop thrashing around?!"

"It... It seed to be in pain."

"Pain? Is it because of that fang in its head?"

"I think it’s sothing el—"

Splash!

Out of nowhere, the scaled skin near the Special Voidal Knight’s neck burst open violently.

All of the soldiers looked at this with stunned gazes.

Rex clawed out of the serpent’s body.

He was roaring like a savage beast as he pushed aside the flesh and crawled out.

"Do you think you can devour ? ?!" Rex snarled with a manic laugh. "I’ll show you who can devour who!"
