Dorn learned more things than he expected from Emperor Dominar.

He learned that chaos made two attempts on the Spirit Realm involving the Reap and Sow Echo’s corruption and Morgana’s rebellion for an Archangel’s vendetta. The latter also ant the Angels are involved with chaos.

Next, he also now knew for certain that Rex ca from the Mortal Realm.

Dorn knew about werewolves, but he couldn’t be certain until he got confirmation.

After all, there are various mutations that exist within the Black Rift.

And this made him realize how truly terrifying Rex was.

’The Mortal Realm is weaker now, but it still possesses several thods to open a portal into our realm. I—or the other Gatekeepers would sense his entry if he used advanced thods,’ Dorn’s brows dipped further into a frown. ’Since nobody sensed it, his thod must be negligible. But how can that be...?’

All Gatekeepers have the Will of Spirit manifested in them.

It was a mutation that was exclusive to the Sky People, passed down fo millennia.

This mutation allowed them to sense any tear or breach in space to their realm, but it would only detect the threatening ones. Anything above the Master Immortal Spirit rank that entered the realm would be easily detected and hunted down.

For Rex to enter without any of them sensing the tear ant he was a weakling when he entered.

Just a bit over a month and he’s now already at the Eternal Spirit rank.

That level of growth is terrifying.

’Mirza has that kind of growth, too. He entered our realm undetected and rose to power quickly,’ Dorn contemplated for a mont—realizing there was a stark similarity between the two. ’Are they related? No, Mirza is not a werewolf.’

Lastly, Dorn now knew that there was a big chance that chaos was targeting Rex for an unknown reason.

Anything involving chaos is an enemy to the Spirit Realm.

As a Gatekeeper, Dorn knew about the Chaos Realm very well.

More than anyone in the entire realm, that’s for certain.

One of his duties was to keep usurpers from other realms away, and that includes the Chaos Realm.

Voidal Monsters are the result of a leakage from the Chaos Realm’s shallowest point, called the Surface, with a few exceptions among the Voidal Monarchs that ca from deeper points. The Spirit Realm is in ruin because of this leakage.

Everything was upturned when it happened to the point of multiple genocides.

One includes the Angel race.

Now that there’s a chance a higher being from the Chaos Realm was involved... Dorn gulped.

Just thinking about it made him shiver.

Not even luck could help them survive.

All the inhabitants of this realm could do then was beg help from the other realms.

Specifically, the God Realm, to be safe.

Emperor Dominar was one of the lucky ones, as he would soon die, and was spared from watching this realm crumble into nothing. Dorn, on the other hand, bears the heaviest of the weight as he is now the first one who learned of the approaching danger.

He is the first one cursed with the knowledge of the possible ruination of his entire realm.

And as its Gatekeeper, he simply couldn’t turn a blind eye to this and hope for the best.

It’s his sacred duty to do sothing about it.

’Stick close to the usurper...’ He thought inside as he walked out of the throne room. Emperor Dominar was walking beside him. ’First of all, I need to win him over. Completing his request is the first step to that. Then, I’ll need to convince the other Gatekeepers to—’

Dorn’s thoughts halted when he noticed the Gatekeeper of Shadow and Light was arguing.

Both of them were waiting for his return.

Only a few minutes passed, and now they were in a fierce argunt.

"I’m not going to argue with you about this," the Gatekeeper of Light waved her hand dismissively. She was crossing her arms and facing away, unwilling to even make eye contact. "I won’t discuss this with a coward who don’t even have the courage to retaliate."

"I didn’t say we should not retaliate, you ill-mannered whore," the Gatekeeper of Shadow clicked his tongue in anger. His old age already erased the filter between his mind and tongue. "I am only saying we should be extra careful."

"Who are you calling whore, you old dog!"

"Respond to what I’m trying to say. Stop ignoring what I’m truly saying here."

The Gatekeeper of Light sneered in contempt.

"You don’t want to ignore your cowardice? Fine. We’re not the ones who were searching for trouble first. Is it wrong for us to respond in the sa language as him?! Our people were slaughtered."

"And many more would be slaughtered because of your short-sightedness! This is reckless!"

A group of a hundred armored spirits entered the courtyard. A Baron was leading them. He scanned the castle entrance and glared at the Gatekeepers who had taken the emperor hostage. Like a picture-perfect knight, he drew his sword and pointed the tip forward.

"Save the emperor!" He roared and led the charge.

Like him, the group also charged forward and summoned their Soul Artifacts.

In a ti of peril, there were opportunists who were betting on the possibility of the emperor surviving.

As long as he’s alive, the empire would remain alive, and that would propel them into an elevated height of status. But their window of opportunity was misplaced. Just as the Baron leaped and charged at the arguing Gatekeepers, a sudden burst of power claid him.

Both the Gatekeeper of Light and Shadow flicked their hands.

Swoosh—!

A shockwave of light and shadow blasted.

Its touch evaporated half of the group into light, while the other half lted into ink-black liquid.

And the Baron, half of his body evaporated, and the other half lted.

None of them stood a chance.

At that mont, Dorn managed to get to them, "What is going on here?"

"It’s nothing," the Gatekeeper of Light turned away. Her chest is still heaving up and down from the anger.

"It’s not nothing!" the Gatekeeper of Shadow turned towards Dorn. "This stupid whore—contacted the other Sky Cities and authorized the Sky Judgnt. She’s the only one who agreed, so it wouldn’t be that strong, but it’s still a big risk!"

Dorn’s face turned white almost instantly.

He already coordinated with them to pull their punches until the situation was clearer.

But the Gatekeeper of Light has to make a move on her own.

"Tell he’s lying," Dorn turned towards her. His expressions were twitching from anger. She didn’t answer. It was clear that she had done that behind them. "Zorina—you did not do that. We talked about it before we ca here..."

"Snap out of it," Emperor Dominar whispered from behind. "You don’t have much ti."

Dorn snapped from his trance when he heard that.

He looked up, "Where did you aim it? Where did you aim that extinction ray?!"

Gaining no answer from Zorina, he quickly flew upward, followed by the Gatekeeper of Shadow.

"What’s wrong?" He asked, noting the extre worry on Dorn’s face. "What did you find out from that emperor?"

"That our realm fucking needs him!" Dorn barked as he charged straight at the Sky City.

He flew upward like a cot.

Roar—!!

Just then, he heard a familiar roar.

It ca from Rex without a doubt. He wanted to pick up his pace, but he was already too late.

From miles away to his right, there was a bright white approaching light that lit up the entire night for a fraction of a second. His hand instinctively shot out, summoning lava out of thin air to reach Rex, but the light was simply too fast.

CRASH—!

Dorn raised his arms to protect his eyes.

He watched from the gaps as the Sky City rumbled when the light struck.

Then, from the low-hanging clouds to the rear left, the serpent burst through—a screaming teor as the light shattered its scales and scorched its flesh to blackened ruin. It roared in a pitch that shuddered in the bone.

Even for him, watching the extinctiuon ray was putting a strain on his eyes.

His eyeballs reddened, but he forced himself to watch.

Not to savor, but to see it himself whether Rex got hit by it or not.

Unfortunately, his fear ca true as he saw Rex also sailing through the night sky. He was coddled by the serpent, but the light reached him nevertheless. The light and Rex disappeared into the horizon, as Dorn watched helplessly.

Once the sky dimd again, he turned and glared at Zorina.

She seed satisfied with the result, not knowing the gravity of what she had done.

"Just what is going on?" the Gatekeeper of Shadow slithered towards Dorn and asked. "What’s that... thing’s importance to our realm?"

"He might be the one who can get rid of the Black Rift," Dorn answered while grinding his teeth. He could tell the Gatekeeper of Shadow wanted to know more, but now is not the ti. "For now, can you make sure Zorina won’t do sothing stupid again? Use force if you have to."

"What about you?"

"I need to track that usurper down," Dorn looked back up and saw shadows dropping from the Sky City. It must be the Shade Crawlers that Rex was commanding. "We’re in trouble if he died from that ray. And if he survived... I don’t think he’s going to leave this realm soon."

...

A couple of voidal monsters were nibbling on a few fresh corpses.

A traveling group of Spirits was crossing their territory, and unfortunately, sothing went wrong with their Seeker. Their protection was down, and that allowed easy picking for the two Ghoul-like Voidal Knights who were in the area.

Each chunk of at that went down their throats was invigorating.

It was filled with imnse life energy that made their spines tingle with excitent.

Just as they were finishing up on the first corpse, they stopped abruptly.

Both sensed the tremble in the air and looked around, fearing a strong voidal monster was nearby.

But it wasn’t a voidal monster.

A bright dot glead in the distance, and before they could react, it slamd to the ground near them.

CRASH—!

Instinctively, one voidal knight scrambled away, not forgetting to drag one corpse.

As for the other, it steadied its center of gravity when the ground shook and snarled at the impact.

Furious that soone had disturbed its al ti, it approached the impact area and saw a sizzling hole on the ground. It was very deep to the point that the pit couldn’t be seen from above, even with its vision that has no problem seeing within the Black Rift.

However, it slled an incredible amount of life energy from the bottom.

Not thinking much, it leaped down with an excited grin.

The hole was deeper than it initially thought. Landing was a hard crash as it tripped and cracked its ankle badly. But a minor broken bone like this is nothing for a voidal knight. It was fixed almost in an instant.

Looking around, it shivered at the sight of a massive scorched monster circling the pit.

It was sizzling with an intense amount of life energy.

And from its aura alone, it was most certainly above a Voidal Lord, which ant it was far stronger than the voidal knight. But the fear and worry only lasted for a few seconds as it realized the monster was dead.

Jackpot.

The voidal knight didn’t know where this carcass ca from, but if it devoured the carcass, becoming a Voidal Lord would not be out of its grasp. As it climbed over, searching for a cracked skin where it could easily access the flesh, its eyes noted another being.

It was lying on the ground motionlessly, surrounded by the monster’s curling body.

And unlike the dead monster, this one was alive, and it’s incredibly weak.

Almost like Luck was on its side today, this one is also above a Voidal Lord. Since this one was alive, the amount of energy the voidal knight could absorb was far higher, so it decided to devour this one first before it died from the wounds.

However, as it was about to take a bite, a hand shot out.

The hand grabbed its face, and with a squeeze, its head exploded.
