Rex stopped as he was about to swim out.

He was about to leave, but noticed the chilling air inside the chamber.

Glancing back at Princess Davina, he exhaled lightly and approached the bed. He took out a heavy and furred blanket from the inventory that he purchased, and covered her body with it. All of them might be powerful, but the Black Rift made them more mortal.

Princess Davina grumbled and shifted, but she didn't wake up.

Then, Rex leaped to the other side and stood beside Lilliana's bed.

Unlike Princess Davina, who was sleeping in a corpse position, Lilliana was facing the other way.

Rex hesitated for a mont.

He eventually turned around and swam out without doing the sa thing for Lilliana.

As he exited, Lilliana opened her eyes. She looked over her shoulder and fixed her gaze on the furred blanket.

An amused smile sliced her face, "Pity."

anwhile, Rex erged on the other side and quickly made his way to the peak.

At this mont, the sun was already above his head. Even though the Black Rift covered it entirely, he could still feel the air was ward as he went up. "The nest I found is the only nest of voidal monsters," Rex mumbled as he scanned the area. "Good. I'm not in the mood for fighting."

It was rare for him to feel like this.

But considering what he did during the Blood Moon, he wasn't surprised.

Upon reaching the top, Rex straightened up and stretched.

His entire body was sore from all the fighting and the wounds. Around, he only saw an empty plain as far as the eye can see. It wasn't entirely perfect for a hideout since all travelling voidal monsters, or spirits, would get to these ravines.

Even so, Princess Davina must have already thought of that.

"She still maintained the starlight barrier," Rex smiled inwardly, reading the scan result from the System about the barrier. "It is also layered with gravity amplification a quarter of a mile outward. She's getting good at combining her powers."

Rex shook his head and focused on what he ca out here for.

As he was about to enter the Banished Realm, he turned to the other side.

Rex watched, motionless, as a mass of pure darkness manifested from another dinsion. Corona of molten, orange-gold light burned around its edges. A celestial form of darkness—took shape, crowned with a mantilla woven from captive stars.

"Nivellen," He called in utter shock.

Once her figure properly manifested, Nivellen opened her purple-void, starry eyes.

"Did I startle you?" She asked with a gentle smile.

"Yes, you did," Rex nodded. He was still looking at her up and down, as he still couldn't believe what he was seeing. "How did you get out of the Banished Realm? Did you recover your strength enough to leave?"

An intimate, feathery chuckle escaped Nivellen's lips.

She found it cute and funny that Rex could still ask hopeful questions like that.

"It's not that easy to leave the Banished Realm," She shook her head. "This is only my consciousness. After everything that happened with you, the Lunirich Gods are… busy. I have enough power to sneak a piece of my consciousness out."

"I see," Rex scratched the back of his head. A little bit embarrassed. "You wanted to talk with ?"

"Yes," Nivellen murmured, walking to the very edge of the peak. She let the thin air, the distant scents, the sheer sensation of height wash over her. A pale imitation of what she'd once known, but real enough for now. "As you wanted, I've only watched. My eyes have been on you… and on Kaiser.

"You've been making it hard for ," She added, glancing at him with a knowing gaze.

"Hard for you?" Rex was confused at that statent. "What do you an? If keeping tabs on Kaiser is too straining, then vaguely watch over him. No need to push yourself too much when you're only back to sowhat in control."

"That's not what I'm talking about," Nivellen shook her head. "That beam you took… If it were charged with its full power, it could vaporize your soul, too. If your soul is gone, both your body here, and your body back ho, will die for good."

"Yeah, I've taken that into account," Rex shrugged his shoulders.

He didn't anticipate the Sky Judgnt.

But he did anticipate the Sky People having more trump cards up their sleeves, and one being a strong attack like the Sky Judgnt. A weapon strong enough to even kill a Primordial Spirit or even beyond. And he reckoned a weapon like that would need authorization from many parties.

Not enough for the quick, unexpected attack that he did.

Regardless, there's another thing that Rex was starting to notice.

Am I really that bad at reading others' minds? I misunderstood Davina and now Nivellen.

"You're not bad at reading minds," Nivellen suddenly intervened. "You're bad at reading won."

She read his mind.

But Rex wasn't surprised; the System already notified him a few seconds ago.

Rex looked at Nivellen and noticed her waiting for him to say sothing.

It was a skeptical gaze. And he realized what she was hinting at.

"It's not only lust with her," Rex exhaled roughly. "I need it to suppress my anger. Being frustrated is not helping. Just know that I'm learning sothing."

Nivellen didn't press further and looked away, "Kaiser is making a move."

"Again?" Rex snapped towards her. Clear, utter annoyance and anger marred his face, "Again? How is the realm allowed a God to tamper this much with a mortal? Is this why he didn't give a backlash for using the Rite of Kaiser? To make lower my guard?"

"You're a Demigod," Nivellen shook her head helplessly. Many aspired to be a Demigod, and yet Rex seed not to be taking that into account—most of the tis. "And he's most likely trying to catch you off guard. But I don't think it's really Kaiser,"

"What do you an it's not Kaise?"

"I'm saying it's not Kaiser. As much as you wanted it to be, Kaiser is not the type to attack sneakily like this."

Nivellen turned towards Rex and pointed at the sky.

"Kaiser is the Lunirich God of the Blood Moon. His power is his own tendency. If he was the one doing these sches, then he'd have chosen one of the Shade Crawlers to be his champion—and attack you directly," She continued, not convinced that this was all Kaiser's doing. "He must be only the front."

"Front? You an he's only the face?" Rex's forehead creased with hard lines.

He was never skeptical about the attacks.

But now that Nivellen brought it up to him, it does feel unassuming for this to be Kaiser.

It's too… crafty.

Far too crafty for a God who liked to spill blood more than anything.

"Soone is forcing him to do this," Rex's pupils dilated as he ca to that realization.

"Exactly," Nivellen nodded. "Kaiser has a connection to you—through your birth moon. It's far more flexible for him to tamper with your fate because of that connection in comparison to the other Lunirich Gods doing it. Either way, he's preparing sothing. Be ready."

Rex nodded in understanding.

He shouldn't be fixated on anticipating what Kaiser would do.

Instead, he should anticipate what the Lunirich Gods would do to better prepare himself.

Once Nivellen delivered the ssage, she vanished once again.

She couldn't stay long lest the Lunirich Gods realize what she was doing.

Anticipate what the Lunirich Gods would do, huh… Most want dead. But I doubt they were stupid enough to attack again without weakening sohow. How would they do that? I have the System to protect .

Just as he thought of that, he rembered that the others were exposed in the Mortal Realm.

If Kaiser or the Lunirich Gods knew that he was in the Spirit Realm, then they would aim for the others.

Even though the others told him not to worry, he couldn't stop worrying.

"Shit!"

Rex imdiately sat down in a ditative position.

He used the Symphony of Two Souls to strengthen his connection with Evelyn.

Connecting to her is far easier than the others.

Purple steam began to sizzle from his shoulders. He waited for Evelyn's presence to appear, to hold him from behind, but it never ca. Rex opened his eyes after a few minutes and gripped his knees, "Where is she? Now I really don't know."

Evelyn and the others had been suppressing their connections to him.

Now, he didn't know whether this silence ant trouble or that they were in the middle of sothing.

"Calm down," Rex whispered silently as he felt his breath becoming short and hot. Anger was getting hold of him again. "None of the others has a King Mark. It's hard for them to be influenced. Have so faith in them, Rex… Have so faith."

Eventually, Rex cald down.

At this point, the others had shown him that they were resilient and reliable.

Rex only needed to have so faith in them.

No chance the Lunirich Gods would be able to touch them—when he's not there. He's the gateway for trouble, so without him, they would be far better off. "Still, Kaiser might not be the one behind this, but it also doesn't an he's against it. I need more help."

He contemplated for a second, trying to find soone who could help.

It was then he rembered one entity that could help.

"Da of Snow…" He muttered that na, recalling how she took pity and helped him save Nivellen. "If she can enter the Banished Realm, then she must be the Ice and Snow Lunirich God—Iseldra. And I can use the Ice and Snow Princess to contact her."

Rex nodded.

That's going to be his plan as soon as he gets back from the Spirit Realm.

Once Devo and Amanir's aptitude is upgraded, he'll leave.

"Until then," Rex took out a book from the inventory.

Swoosh—!

His eyes marveled at the floating book before him that was gushing with an incredible, ruby energy. It was the Absolute Effect Manual. Its cover was made of a deep-slated charcoal ore that has the property to easily suppress the incredible power contained within it.

On the cover, there was the Invincibility Symbol shaped like a star-shaped wrathful eye.

Its cornea was a magical ruby gem.

This is the second ti he looked at the book, but it still stole his breath away.

Even though the manual looked thick, only a few pages were written with words.

Most were only filled with energy that would help him understand the Anger Stratum more.

Rex already checked the manual once earlier and read the few introductory pages.

One of the things that was a prerequisite for learning the content was a state of perfect calm. Ironic for the manual to ask that to a Scion of the Anger Stratum. In the System's precise terminology, his Berserk stat had to be below thirty percent, preferably twenty percent.

But the Blood Moon, the exhaustion, and the frustration made it hard to lower his Berserk stat.

Especially since there's no Evelyn or Calidora around.

Each one kept his Berserk stat above fifty percent.

So, he needed to deal with one factor, and he managed to quench one factor properly last night.

Rex took a couple of breaths to calm his nerves and clear his mind. Once he was ready, he gestured for the book to co closer and waved his hand to open the book. He was imdiately greeted by what his Blank form actually was, its effects, and also its purpose.

He already knew a couple of things thanks to Kei Xun, but the effects were lost on him.

Kei Xun only has the Sadness Stratum, so hers was different.

Now, he could finally know what the effects of being a Scion of the Anger Stratum ant.

"Huh…" Rex nodded his head repeatedly, pleased with what he was reading. "Is that really the case? Doesn't that basically make it even more impossible for to be killed?"
