Lilliana stared at the big steel bracelet that she was supposed to pull, and then back at Rex.

In her mind, if even Rex said that it was heavy, then what about her? She probably could move the steel bracelet, but that is if she exerted her entire strength, and she didn’t want to do that. She would be really sweaty then.

Davina walked over to the steel bracelet, grabbed the rope, and pulled.

A moan escaped her lips from the exertion, but the steel bracelet didn’t budge.

"So heavy..." She stared at the steel bracelet and placed her hands on her hips. "And you’re telling everyone from the Red Skull Elite Force could pull this? I don’t believe it. There must be so kind of trick to this."

Rex frowned.

Wait, what/

Just earlier, when he pulled the steel bracelet, he was simply playing around to scare the girls.

It wasn’t that heavy at all.

He had taken into account his superior physical strength, but as long as Davina and Lilliana pulled with their whole body, they should be able to drag the steel bracelet fine. Seeing Davina struggling to even move the steel bracelet caught Rex by surprise.

Curious, he decided to scan these steel bracelets.

And as Davina suspected, there is a trick to it.

"It’s tied solely to your determination," Rex said, turning towards them. "Take it seriously, and you’ll be fine. Co on, we don’t have ti to waste."

Rex hooked the rope over his shoulder and pulled the steel bracelet in a slow drag.

Every inch the steel bracelet took made the earth beneath it groan—a deep, dragging sound like so ancient beast stirring from a thousand-year slumber. He made it look effortless, step by grinding step— making his way slowly to the giant sword on the horizon, which was the finish line.

Behind him, Davina and Lilliana bit their lips and decided to also take it seriously.

Davina, uncaring about what she was wearing, also slung the rope over her shoulder and pulled not only with the drive from her legs, but also with her left arm. She stabbed her left hand into the ground and used it as leverage to pull with three limbs.

On the other hand, Lilliana decided to use her anatomy to her advantage.

She stayed facing the steel bracelet and pulled with her hands, legs, and also her tail.

It forced her to let out an ugly groan for the steel bracelet to finally move a little, and when it did, with speed, she quickly turned and slung the rope over her shoulder and pulled. Her thod worked, but the distance to the finish line was still far away.

For almost fifteen minutes, the three of them traversed the hilly plain, sticking to only the flat ground.

Grass filled the entire area, but they were ground to dirt by the passing steel bracelets.

Once the steel bracelet started moving, pulling it beca far easier—almost like there was a gravitational lock that kept it in place when it was stationary. But even with that, Davina and Lilliana could feel their muscles were complaining.

Both are trained in the art of weapons and combat.

It was rare for them to utilize maximum strength, focusing more on training their endurance instead.

Strength had its uses, but their fighting style targeted the enemy’s weak points—precision over power. They would have benefited far more from having high stamina and speed than from having strength. Due to precisely that reason, they had never focused much on their strength.

Had the test been anything else, they wouldn’t be struggling like this.

Just that, the High Millinar is a blockhead that’s infatuated with raw strength.

Fortunately, becoming a Silverstar helped them a bit.

"If he’s only doing this because of spite, I’m fighting him," Davina whispered from behind.

"He’s not," Rex chuckled at what she said; it’s really not the case. He knew the type of person Alexander was, as he had t people like that in the past. He was quite sure Alexander was telling them to do this because he genuinely wanted to know their capabilities. "If anything, he’s probably forcing us through this test to know our capabilities.

"I doubt he’s a High Milinar without a reason," He added.

High Lord Rashal is similar to him, and that alone made it clear that his standard is high.

No chance that soone incompetent would be given the rank High Milinar.

"Is it just ...?" Lilliana panted from the other side, pausing to wipe the beads of sweat drizzling down her forehead. "Or has that sword not moved at all? We have been dragging these stupid things for fifteen minutes straight, and it doesn’t feel like we’re any closer."

Rex raised his gaze and scanned the area with the System.

It was only then that he saw the nexus of energy about five ters underground.

So kind of formation or spell that covered the entire area.

And when the notification appeared, explaining to Rex what it was, his brows dropped into a frown.

"Sigh..." Rex stopped pulling and straightened his spine. "It’s stretching the space around us."

"Stretching the space around us?" Davina also stopped, confused.

"Yes, it’s stretching the space around. We won’t be able to finish this test like this."

"Then how does Alexander expect us to reach the sword?"

"It’s quite simple, but annoying. Just that we can’t make a stop at all."

Considering that this test was for those who wanted to be a part of the Fire Skull Elie Force—extrely loyal to the High Lord, the one tric that needed to be tested first was determination. It was the first and most important tric for an elite force.

Even back in the military, in his special unit, though the picked candidates seed random, it wasn’t.

First and foremost is the strength of the mind.

Edward and Kyle had gone through multiple battles and had shown fierce determination through how they sacrificed themselves to protect important officers, while Rex had an obsession to eradicate every single Supernatural race, and worked actively every day to achieve that.

Strong values are still the sa, be it in the Mortal Realm or the God Realm.

"I apologize..." Lilliana said, strong enough to know that she was the one dragging them down.

Rex and Davina had to keep slowing down to her pace—and she’s also the only one who took short breaks here and there. Not because she wasn’t taking this seriously, but because it was really hard for her. And though she was embarrassed, her eyes never trailed away.

She owned her mistake, and the sight made Rex rember that she’s of blue blood.

And she reflected it even through the smallest things.

"It’s fine," Rex said, waving off her concern. Nobody apologized for that directly before, and frankly, that made him not know what to say. "In fact, this is a good opportunity. Let’s try using your other form. Your beast form. Neither of you has fully transford yet, right? When the body’s tired and ward up like this—that’s the best ti to push through."

Having them to able to transform would be good for their survivability.

Not only would their physical strength be boosted, but their regeneration would, too.

I don’t know about Davina since she’s a special case, but Lilliana could do it right now.

Rex wasn’t entirely sure, but the transformation seed to affect those from the Spirit Realm differently than those from the Mortal Realm. Under normal circumstances, once the process to beco a Silverstar was complete, they could freely shift between human form and werewolf form.

But that wasn’t the case for Davina and Lilliana.

No, wait... It’s only different when it cos to the nobilities.

He rembered Mira was also the sa and couldn’t really transform into her werewolf form.

Rex assud there’s sothing in the blood of nobility that made them different, since things are the sa when it cos to the Voidal Monsters he turned—and also the Shade Crawlers. Sothing in the blood of nobility made them unable to transform into their werewolf form on their own.

Why is that, System?

Way of living?

Huh... I wasn’t expecting that.

Rex was expecting to be sothing in their blood, but it’s not.

It seed he had underestimated the treasures and hidden techniques of an empire that had survived such a long ti. System, purchase the information to help them feel and transform into their werewolf form. I hope you don’t be stingy.

Rex sneered when he read the notification, but quickly focused on the mont again.

"Can we really do that?" Davina asked, excited.

"I don’t know about you," Rex said with a sheepish smile, careful not to raise Davina’s hope, as even he doesn’t know how she will turn out, especially when she possesses probably the strongest bloodline in the pack, one that rivals his own. He turned to Lilliana instead. "But I reckon you can do it. You’ve already tasted what it feels like to go berserk.

"Really?" Lilliana’s eyes lit up. "Teach !"

"Tch," Davina clicked his tongue and crossed her arms. "I guess the baggage needs more help."

Rex could practically feel the heat of jealousy that Davina was emanating.

But he really can’t, so she’ll have to deal with it.

"Didn’t you say that my body will slowly transform?"

"I think it’s still the case, but your body has perfect intrinsic control over everything happening inside and outside. It would take a long ti for you to transform—naturally. Let’s try and force to transform right now."

Lilliana nodded and imdiately followed Rex’s instructions.

Unlike what she expected, triggering the transformation was quite easy.

It would have been easier at night since it’s dawn already, but with her own strength—and Rex’s power flowing into her through their connection, she could transform even under the sun. All she needed was focus: recall the fury that had nearly consud her that night, the rage that had almost shattered her control, and then channel that heat through every inch of her body.

No matter what the birth moon of a werewolf was, anger is always their source of power.

Even before the Lunirich Gods were in the picture, it had been that way.

Just that, now, the Lunirich Gods bestowed them with myriads of boosts depending on the full moon in exchange for so semblance of control of their mind. And before long, the first sign of transformation happened.

Crack—!

Lilliana’s bones began to break underneath her skin and reford into a different shape and strength.

It created a new, skeletal frawork that was derived from her bloodline.

Davina doesn’t want to watch out of bitterness that she might not be able to transform instantly, as Rex said, but when the first bone-crack resounded, she couldn’t help but steal a glance. She was curious as to what her big sister would end up looking like.

Never once in her life did she think that one day, she and her big sister would beco more than spirits.

But reality has nurous ways for unexpected surprises.

Rex’s eyes narrowed as the transformation took hold. Lilliana’s werewolf traits surged and sharpened—her tail thickening with newfound strength, lengthening behind her. The green fur that had clustered at her chest now rippled outward, spreading across her entire body in a wave. Her beautiful, mature fra contorted and restructured, reshaping itself into the powerful form of a beast.

She was still beautiful, but now, the transformation added a dangerous tinge to her appearance.

At the end of it, Rex’s lips curled into a smile.

Not bad... I don’t think there’s anyone that have similar appearance to her.
