Rex was sent here to make a statent; that’s what High Lord Rashal wanted him.

And this plan to make the enemy believe that the Red Skull Elite Force was focused on spreading their manpower across the realm to protect the inhabitants, which was precisely what it was designed to do. But helping High Lord Rashal against another High Lord isn’t the only goal he had in mind.

He also wanted to amass ten thousand divinity points.

In order for him to achieve that, he would need to find the Demigods from the enemy forces.

"Sha..." Rex murmured, sweeping his gaze across the horizon.

He found beauty there in the grey expanse.

It lacked the vibrant colors of the Mortal Realm or the God Realm, but the Grey Realm possessed this quiet beauty that was unique to itself. At least, among the realms Rex had entered, this realm was the best one for solitude.

"I can focus on keeping the casualties to a minimum, but I can’t sacrifice this chance for that."

A lot of people are going to die.

From the eyes of the inhabitants of this realm, it would be a natural era of war.

But in reality, it was all orchestrated by Demigods who care little about their asly lives.

Rex then looked around again.

This ti, he was searching for sothing or soone.

System, how long would it take to do that? What are the chances?

Guess I’ll have to go down there.

Rex descended from the sky, heading straight to the castle in the heart of the capital city.

As he neared the ground, the Star Echo’s power began to fade.

But that’s not a problem.

He cloaked himself in his dark elent, suppressing his aura and scent until he beca practically undetectable. Even if soone walked right past him, they would sense nothing at all. Then, with his lunar elent, he bent the moonlight around his form, rendering himself invisible.

So long as he stayed off the open streets and moved among the crowds, he’d stay invisible.

Having a very high mana control like him is quite useful.

Rex barely used his other elents, but since he was now dealing with weaker people, there’s no need for him to get creative. Just use the available elents to get where he needed. It didn’t take long at all for him to reach the castle.

It was crawling with guards.

Even before reaching the castle that was located right beside a running river, there were patrolling guards on horses. From above, Rex could see at least twelve groups of them, roaming around with torches and spears in their hands.

Outside the castle, more guards road in pairs.

Dozens more in the watchtowers, and also on the wall.

But then again, the Grisian Empire was the largest and most powerful faction in the entire Grey Realm. And, more crucially, it was already on the brink of a civil war against the emperor’s brother. Having the emperor assassinated right about now would be really convenient.

It would save the rebellion an enormous amount of trouble.

A security of this level was needed.

However, it couldn’t stop Rex from approaching.

Rex drifted over the wall without haste. A warm breeze trailed behind him, brushing past the guards—and making them frown. Their senses sharpened, instinct prickling with the certainty that danger was near, but there was nothing to detect, no trace to grasp.

Only the wind, and the helplessness of knowing sothing was wrong without being able to na it.

Leisurely, Rex entered through the open window.

A few counterasures, such as a trap that would pick up anyone breaking in, were active there.

But it couldn’t detect Rex.

He landed softly on the cold stone floor—and began ascending the spiraling staircase toward the master bedchamber on the second floor. More guards waited inside, stationed along the corridor, but they stood frozen like statues.

Despite their cautious eyes scanning for trouble, Rex remained unseen.

Once he arrived at the main bed chamber, the guards there turned their heads.

One actually managed to see him.

"Who’s there?!" A knight in polished and well-decorated armor drew his sword. "Show yourself!"

He has a Gift, being able to see illusions with his eyes

Following the lead, the other knight beside him was also alerted, drawing the sword from its sheath.

Even though his eyes couldn’t see anything, he trusted the gifted knight’s guts.

Soon, a figure crawled out from the darkness.

"Demon!" The gifted knight charged his sword with energy. "Take another step, and I’ll kill you where you sta—"

His voice faltered.

Shock and confusion struck him like a physical blow; his sword was trembling. No, his entire body was shaking. For soone who had trained since before he could properly lift a blade, this should have been impossible. No enemy, no matter how fearso, had ever made his body betray him like this.

But he wasn’t seeing things.

Even the knight beside him couldn’t hold up his sword as the tip dropped to the ground.

Almost like it suddenly weighed a ton.

"W-What are you...?"

"Just soone who’s passing by. Once you wake up, you’ll rember this as a dream."

Before the gifted knight could say anything, Rex already lifted his finger.

He didn’t use a skill. Didn’t deploy any elaborate ability. He simply gathered his kingly energy at the tip of his index finger. But in the eyes of the knights, that concentrated power was sothing far darker. It was a force that felt like it had crawled up from the very depths of hell.

No power of good would emanate pressure as much as the kingly energy Rex was gathering.

It even distorted the space around it.

And with a sudden flash, the kingly energy manifested into a ball.

Just the re sight of it pressed down on their minds and bodies with unbearable weight. One by one, they dropped to the cold stone floor like felled logs. Even as his mind was growing dark, with the very last strand of his strength, the gifted soldier reached out to catch Rex’s leg as he walked past.

But his hand never reached. It couldn’t.

Not because he was too weak, but because sothing was preventing him from touching Rex.

As if his existence isn’t enough to touch the level Rex was at.

anwhile, inside the main bedchamber.

Emperor Reyes’s slumber was interrupted by a sense of unease. He opened his eyes—and stared at the ceiling. Reaching out his hands to the side, he was relieved to feel the warm bodies of won tangled against his.

Seven naked won were sleeping on his bed.

Not because he wanted to satiate his lust, he was too old for that—but because this is the only way for him to feel safer. After his own brother’s announcent of rebellion, he couldn’t sleep and was constantly in a state of paranoia.

He rose to sit down, pulling back his arms from the woman before leaning back against the headboard.

Feeling movent, one of the won, a petite young woman with braided brown hair, rose and rubbed her eyes. She looked at Emperor Reyes through squinted eyes—and realized he was awake, "Still can’t get so good sleep, Your Imperial Majesty?"

"..."

"Tell what’s on your mind. Let it all out. It would help."

Slowly, the young woman crawled closer.

She wrapped her arms around the emperor and rested her cheek against his chest.

But a frown soon ford on her forehead.

"Your Imperial Majesty, your heart is pounding..." She murmured as she pulled back.

"Soone is here," Emperor Reyes stared at the entrance into the bedchamber. "I can feel it."

"Guards are stationed everywhere. I don’t think anyone co—"

Her words died in her throat as the entrance groaned open—the sound heavy and sudden. A figure stood in the doorway, shrouded in darkness, a pair of crimson eyes burning through the shadows. On reflex, the young woman snatched the blanket to her chest, covering her naked body.

"How dare you?!" She pointed at the figure in anger. "How dare you disturb the emperor’s rest?!"

Almost every single woman in the bed woke up at her scream.

All of them looked around and soon realized that there was soone in the doorway.

Instinctively, their minds linked Rex to the rebellion—the very force seeking to overthrow the emperor. And now, they were caught in the crossfire. One of them, overwheld by fear and dread, slipped from the bed and ran not away, but straight toward him.

She knelt down and clasped her hands in prayer, begging him not to kill her.

But seeing him sparing not a glance, the woman ran out, and surprisingly, she was unhard.

Like a domino effect, the other won also ran out.

Now, only the emperor and the young woman are inside the bed chamber.

Once all of them were gone, Rex finally opened his mouth.

"I need to find soone. Should I talk to you or your marquesses know better?"

"Address the Imperial Majesty appropriately!"

From the mont Rex entered the main bedchamber, his eyes were completely fixated on the emperor. It was clear that his intention for coming was solely for the emperor. But when now, after the shout, his crimson gaze shifted to the young woman.

Rex reached out his hand and used the Inevitable Death.

A beating heart ford within its grasp, and almost instantly, the young woman’s breath faltered.

She clutched her chest; nails digging into her skin.

Deep inside her chest, she felt sothing wrap around her beating heart. It was impossible. She doesn’t want to believe it. And yet only a fool would not recognize the truth. It was Rex’s hand. Sohow— impossibly, he possessed an ability that let him touch her heart directly.

As long as he wanted to, he could crush her heart in an instant.

The Blood Moon King Mark glowed as Rex tilted his head, "Speak one more word, and you’re dead."

"Spare her," Emperor Reyes finally spoke up. "And for your question, it depends."

"I’m searching for your brother."

"My brother? What is your affiliation?"

"I am not of this realm," Rex decided to tell the emperor the truth. He has imnse manpower, so it’s not a bad thing to tell him about what was going on. "Do you know the specialty of this realm? Do you know that divinity is strong in this realm?"

"I can feel it," Emperor Reyes nodded.

"Feel it? How?"

"No matter the land, all kinds of crops could grow. No matter the area, there’s always an abundance of resources. My empire beca this big in a century. It wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for those things. So, yes, I can feel it."

"This realm belongs to my side—and now an enemy force is already on its way. Soon, every continent will beco a battlefield, and chaos will spread like wildfire. Your empire, as one of the most prominent powers in this realm, will be approached first. And with a civil war looming, your brother will almost certainly be courted by them."

Despite the terrible news, Emperor Reyes wasn’t that surprised.

Only the young woman gasped in horror.

"Point to the direction where he might be hiding," Rex demanded. "Tell this—and it won’t only be your empire, but the whole world would survive."

"How do I know you’re not the enemy who proclaid to be the good people?" Emperor Reyes asked.

It was a logical question.

He doesn’t know who owned this realm, and from Rex’s appearance, he looks like the bad guy.

"You’ll have to trust your gut," Rex replied. "I’m an emperor as well, and in a situation like this, I would trust mine. You should do the sa." He tilted his head nacingly. "What is it going to be, Emperor Reyes?"
