"What's the matter?" Lin Tian instinctively thought Ye Feng wanted to quit; otherwise, he wouldn't have said so.
"My mom died early, and it was my dad who raised all by himself. He's getting old and has trouble walking. I'm afraid if I die, there'll be no one to take care of him..." Ye Feng revealed the burden in his heart.
In the next second, everyone fell silent.
Filial piety is the foremost of all virtues; the culture of filial respect is a virtue, and Ye Feng's words undoubtedly touched the two of them.
"Rest assured!" Chen Moxiang nodded. For such a patriotic and filial person, she felt genuine admiration.
"You won't die, Feng!" Lin Tian patted Ye Feng on the shoulder, comforting him, having misjudged him earlier.
Ye Feng quickly smiled and said, "I'm not that easy to kill, how could I die?"
Although everyone treated Ye Feng's words as a joke, none of them could laugh, because you never know; accidents could happen anyti!
"Stop talking about such bleak things. This mission will definitely be completed successfully, and we'll all co out safe and sound!" Chen Moxiang paused and continued, "Tomorrow morning, you two can go to the Kanyue City Cultural Center to check the layout. Our operation is tentatively set for the day after tomorrow, aning we only have tomorrow to prepare!"
"Understood!" Lin Tian nodded.
After parting ways with Chen Moxiang, both headed back—Ye Feng to his place, and Lin Tian returned to the budget hotel.
It was already the middle of the night, and after such a thrilling night, Lin Tian didn't practice but instead fell into bed and slept.
When he woke up, Lin Tian felt exhausted, blaming it on last night's fatigue.
He got up, washed up, and had breakfast downstairs.
Then he called Ye Feng to arrange a etup at the entrance of the Kanyue City Cultural Center.
After a half-hour drive, Lin Tian got off and saw Ye Feng wearing large sunglasses with a big DSLR cara hanging around his neck, making him almost unrecognizable.
"Why are you carrying a cara?" Lin Tian asked curiously.
"Fifty artifacts from the Celestial Dragon Continent, but the exhibition has more than just fifty artifacts from there. Since we're acting tomorrow, we naturally need to do our howork in advance!" Ye Feng said with experience.
Lin Tian suddenly realized, feeling grateful for having Ye Feng in the team. With an experienced elder like him, others could be at ease.
"Let's go!" Lin Tian said, heading to the ticket booth to buy tickets.
"Wait a sec!" Ye Feng called out.
"What is it?" Lin Tian looked at Ye Feng in surprise.
"Lin Tian, you check out the surrounding environnt, routes, and surveillance caras inside the venue! I'll take pictures of all the target artifacts!" Ye Feng whispered into Lin Tian's ear.
"Got it!" Lin Tian nodded.
A ticket costs two hundred yuan, totaling four hundred for both of them to enter the exhibition hall.
"These foreigners are really greedy!" Lin Tian said painfully.
But more than the pain, Lin Tian was angrier, thinking about how they're making money off Celestial Dragon Continent's artifacts. It was infuriating.
"That's why we need to steal these things out!" Ye Feng never thought of theft as honorable, but this ti was an exception.
As soon as they entered the international artifact exhibition hall, Lin Tian noticed it was bustling. Journalists from various dia continuously photographed every invaluable artifact.
So antique enthusiasts examined the artifacts with magnifying glasses, peering through bulletproof sealed glass cases.
Most people were simply spectators there for fun, taking endless selfies with the artifacts to show off on social dia.
Ye Feng blended right in with the antique enthusiasts, ticulously observing every artifact and taking pictures of each one.
Lin Tian wandered around the hall alone, pretending to look at artifacts while his eyes continuously noted every corner, surveillance cara, window, and exit, committing them to mory.
From morning till the sun set, the two were busy observing until the venue began clearing visitors for closing, prompting the enthusiasts and tourists to leave the hall.
Lin Tian and Ye Feng exited the hall, both with furrowed brows.
"No wonder that foreigner arrogantly boasted that no one could steal these things. The layout of the venue is impenetrable! This secret operation is really tough!" Lin Tian comnted once outside.
"Let's talk when we get back!" Ye Feng motioned to leave the area first.
At Ye Feng's shop, both had just gotten out of the car when Chen Moxiang arrived. Ye Feng pulled up the roll-up door, and the three walked inside.
Inside the shop, Ye Feng closed the shutter, removed his sunglasses, and said seriously, "I fear this secret mission is too much for just the three of us!"
"I think so too!" Lin Tian agreed, nodding.
"Why are you both saying defeatist things?" Chen Moxiang gave Ye Feng and Lin Tian a strange look. The mission hadn't even started, and they were already underestimating themselves.
"It's hard to explain!" Lin Tian found so paper and a pen and began sketching a simple map of the venue on a blank sheet, marking many small black dots.
"Drawing a map is fine, but why so many black dots?" Chen Moxiang asked, furrowing her brows in confusion.
"Those black dots are surveillance caras!" Lin Tian had used his X-ray vision to see them; there were over a hundred hidden and visible caras throughout the venue.
Literally, every step brought them to another cara, making it an impossible mission!
"And the artifacts are protected by bulletproof glass cases, all secured with combination locks, aning we need fifty different codes to steal all fifty artifacts!" Ye Feng took the DSLR off his neck.
"The difficulty is beyond imagination!" Ye Feng shook his head helplessly. Although he had known all along that the secret mission was hard, he hadn't expected it to be this difficult.
"Fifty codes, just cracking them would take a lot of ti!" Lin Tian said, frowning.
Typically, such operations must be completed within minutes, but with so many caras, combination locks, and security personnel, achieving all this within minutes seed unrealistic.
This doesn't even account for the ti needed to transport the artifacts out. After all, these are fifty artifacts, and they must be handled with care to avoid damage, as any damage would result in huge losses.
Chen Moxiang looked at the two with remarkable calm: "Even though this secret operation is challenging, I think we shouldn't be discouraged. We should find a way to complete it, shouldn't we?"
