Now reading: Chapter 16 Quan Shifang from The Journey of Immortal Cultivation, a Romance novel by Wind passes between the water and clouds.

Ning Xiaoxian's expression darkened. If she hadn't known that the Changtian envoy was using Divine Skills to keep others from hearing, she might have suspected that these two had conspired to provoke her—the things they said were exactly the sa.

She saw soone turn out from behind the trees ahead, wearing plain, clean white clothes from head to toe, who asked, "May I inquire, miss, is this song... your creation?" He saw Ning Xiaoxian standing in the open space in front of the tree, a look of surprise on his face, and his speech paused involuntarily.

Yet Ning Xiaoxian was very irritated, interpreting this person's action as confirmation that he believed she was unworthy of being the song's composer.

She said coldly, "What, a person wearing hemp clothes eating roasted chicken and sweet potatoes here doesn't deserve to create this song?"

A gust of wind, inconveniently tid, lifted the corner of the white-clothed man's overcoat, revealing a small emblem underneath. With her perfect 5.2 vision, she could clearly see that it was a cloud-shaped mark.

It was only then that she looked up at his face, and she was genuinely startled. Not because he was ugly or strange; the man before her had a statue-like figure, his pair of eyes as bright as dawn stars—clear, crystalline, and obviously his Divine Skills had reached a significant realm. His nose was like a gallantly hanging gallbladder, his lips red and teeth white, conforming to many young girls' image of an ideal, graceful young man.

However, what truly surprised Ning Xiaoxian was the overflowing sense of tranquility and lightness in his aura, which reminded her of Wen Tianxiang's "Righteous Qi Song," with lines that say, "Heaven and earth have righteous Qi, bestowed upon myriad forms. Below it becos rivers and mountains, above, sun and stars." If such vast righteous Qi were entrusted to a person, would it not make one feel genuine fondness and respect, deserving of admiration and trust?

The man before her had such a unique presence; rely standing there, he exuded a sense of integrity and deep virtue like the imposing stance of mountains and depths of oceans, inspiring respect in others.

Yet he spoke to her with a formal deanor, "The lady speaks the truth. It was my mistake!"

Indeed, the man before her was none other than the renowned Quan Shifang, Quan Shaohua! If she had been ninety percent certain before, now she was completely convinced. Besides him, which other cultivator would sincerely apologize to a mortal woman?

No wonder so many noble maidens of the immortal sects talked about Quan Shifang with flushed cheeks and pounding hearts. Such a young and accomplished man, yet polite and proper, was indeed hard to find in the Cultivation World.

Quan Shifang himself was also greatly surprised in his heart.

He had been sitting at the Chi Xiao Sect's banquet for a while and beca a bit restless. This was the first ti he led a team on a mission, to discuss sect cooperation with the Chi Xiao Sect. The trouble of socializing that his seniors used to handle now fell onto him.

Sitting next to Master i, he could hear nothing but flattery around him, and the toasts kept coming incessantly. Although cultivators do not abstain from alcohol, he disliked the sll and was not fond of cultivators' flattery, reminiscent of the secular world, so after a few rounds, he felt as uncomfortable as if sitting on needles, inwardly blaming his Master for the sudden change of plans and leaving him to deal with these matters. Eventually, he found an excuse and walked out.

His intention was rely to get so fresh air, but the scenery atop the Main Peak was truly pleasant, and he found himself wandering farther away.

Things just happened to be so coincidental that the song Ning Xiaoxian was passionately singing was carried to his ears by the wind.

He had co across maidens who recomnded themselves for their exquisite singing before, hoping to perform for him, but Quan Shifang always just responded with a smile, not to ntion Ning Xiaoxian's singing was indeed quite diocre. He had no interest in peeking at others' activities; about to leave, he encountered a slight inconvenience and thus followed the sound.

Who would have thought he'd find a mortal girl in plain clothes? Judging by her attire, she was a common young girl working within the sect, in front of whom was a boiling pot of bubbling stew.

The weather was very hot, and she had been waiting by the fire for so long that her face was beaded with sweat. Seeing that Quan Shifang stood effortlessly, clean and tidy, seemingly without breaking a sweat, she envied his magical abilities, which made him impervious to hot and cold, even as she said:

"No worries, I was overreacting. This song was also sothing I heard from elsewhere, not originally my own creation." She was curious: "Shouldn't Master Quan be at the banquet eating right now? How did you end up here?" She was not a disciple of the Chi Xiao Sect, so she had no right to address him as "Senior Brother."

"You recognize ?"

She flipped the food in the pot with a scoop and turned the roasting bird over, "I don't, just heard of you. But having seen you today, I knew you must be Master Quan." The sweet potatoes here are not easy to cook soft; this pot has been cooking for a while and is finally almost ready.

So she knew he was Quan Shifang. Not to be conceited, but he's been followed by nurous maidens in recent years, much to his annoyance. He's always been gentle with others, not wishing to rudely reject anyone. But from the mont this girl saw him, her expression was normal, and her heartbeat did not even skip a beat, revealing that she really wasn't smitten with him.

Cultivators' five senses are beyond that of mortals; he's encountered won who always dressed up elaborately, their bodies laden with the overpowering scent of costics, which he found suffocating to avoid. Yet, facing Ning Xiaoxian with her bare face and the vitality of a 17-year-old girl, even the faint sweat scent on her was much more pleasant than the sll of makeup, making him not feel irritated by her presence.

Therefore, he asked a question that he rarely ever posed: "May I ask for the young lady's na?"

Ning Xiaoxian was adding sugar to the pot, and upon hearing, she just waved her hand and said, "Ning. Ning Xiaoxian." She gave her na in the Huaxia manner, rather than starting timidly with "This young woman is surnad Ning" as most young ladies might.
