She quickly coughed a few tis, disguising the awkward expression that seed inexplicable to others.

This westward journey involved about ten Immortal Bandits, all Humans, plus Ning Xiaoxian and two others, setting off towards the Ba Snake Mountain Range. Chiming City was already the last bastion of human habitation on the western side of the Continent, beyond which was a desolate no-man’s land.

Uninhabited by Humans, but ho to demons. The Ba Snake Mountain Range was indeed the domain of demons.

Traveling westward from Nian Family Village and riding on a Flying Artifact, the Ba Snake Mountain Range ca into view after about seven days.

Ever since leaving Hachaer Basin, the journey revealed nothing but shattered canyons, barren Gobi, and wind-blown rock formations carved by fierce and dry hurricanes into innurable labyrinths that could trap a person to death. It’s not just about Humans; even the common desert creatures like lizards and cacti could barely survive here. They had flown for a whole day and night without seeing a speck of green.

This was not only a dead zone for life but also devoid of anything—no special products, no minerals, nothing of value, which was no wonder Humans were reluctant to tread this land.

Perhaps because of the monotony and desolation they had grown used to, Ning Xiaoxian sighed with delight upon sighting the Ba Snake Mountain Range. Though Changtian had described their destination, seeing it with her own eyes was still a different level of shock. On the edge of the bare Stone Forest, there suddenly appeared a touch of stubborn green—low shrubs.

Then, this inconspicuous green slowly spread westward, gradually covering the sandy soil, with tall poplar trees hand in hand, steadfastly blocking out the sandstorms.

Another half an hour by flight, and the scenery beneath transford into an endless forest! She didn’t know much about tree species, but were there perhaps hundreds, if not thousands, here? This place thoroughly overturned her impression that a forest "only had one color," for it was now October, and many trees were radiating other hues. She had just flown over a valley where thousands of maple trees were so beautifully red, that she held her breath for a mont, unable to believe that the world could harbor such a stunningly glorious sight.

However, her imagination was still too poor. What she saw next was a dreamlike scene of light purple and pale blue jacaranda tree forests, with dazzling gold on the side—the hill was covered with ginkgo trees.

The forests here were incredibly dense.

However, she didn’t have much ti to enjoy the beautiful scenery from above, because upon entering the Ba Snake Mountain Range from the edge of the forest, they had to walk on foot. This was the rule of the Ba Snake Mountain Range. The demons here did not allow anyone to fly over their heads with Magic Artifacts.

The mountain range that ford the Ba Snake Mountain Range had smooth and gentle curves, much like the undulating, contoured body of a young, reclining woman, with rarely any perilous steep peaks.

Only by walking could one truly feel the unique character of the Ba Snake Mountain Range, which was "imnsity." The Ba Snake Mountain Range itself was vast, and even at the speed of Qi Zai’s flight, it would take a full nine days to cross from east to west at a constant speed. For it, that was the ti it would take to cross six to seven Great States. She had never doubted the enormity of this jungle; otherwise, how could an Ancient Giant Beast like the Ba Snake inhabit this place?

But it was only after entering the dense forest that she realized that the creatures here grew incredibly large, too! Any random tree taken out of this place could be considered a towering ancient tree elsewhere. For example, the kapok tree she had just passed by would have grown to a height of about twenty-five ters in the outside world, but it easily reached forty-five ters here. And in this jungle, it was just a short and weak little tree. The largest tree she had seen so far was preliminarily estimated to be over four hundred ters tall.

And it seed the competition among trees was fierce as well—every little distance they walked, they would encounter fallen trees, perhaps recently toppled, or ancient decaying wood that died a long ti ago, covered in moss and mushrooms. Here, even fighting for a ter of sunlight was incredibly daunting.

Under the flourishing appearance was an intense competition for survival.

What made her feel even more powerless was that the insects here were also very large—aside from biologists, few girls would dare say they were completely unafraid of insects, and Ning Xiaoxian was no exception. Mosquitoes that chased people in flight were as long as one’s middle finger. Fortunately, those who walked into the jungle were Cultivators, surrounding themselves with Protective Gang Qi to fend off insect attacks. If it were a mortal that ca here, they would probably be drained into a husk within a few steps.

My goodness, did she just see a fly as large as a fist? Those protruding compound eyes were truly disgusting; she had to make way for spiders almost as big as a small dog that scurried by; a massive centipede as long as three ters, nearly the sa length as an ordinary python, made her want to scream. Now she understood why Qing’er didn’t co with them—so creatures were annoying enough when small, but when enlarged by several or even dozens of tis, they beca nothing short of a nightmare for won.

The third characteristic of this place was the abundance of dicinal herbs. She had only followed the Immortal Bandits for half a day and had already encountered no less than thirty types of dicinal materials. Just by looking at their size and vigor, she knew they were of considerable age and definitely of excellent potency. In Huaxia, deep mountain forests had always been regarded as repositories of wild dicinal herbs, and the Ba Snake Mountain Range was even more so a concentration of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. With few human visits and even fewer Cultivators coming by, these treasures quietly growing in the humus were astonishing both in quality and quantity.

Changtian had already explained that the Ba Snake Mountain Range was so lush and dense firstly because it was close to the western coast, where the warm and moist currents from the Endless Sea brought abundant moisture. On the other hand, the True Body of the Ba Snake lay dormant here, and the Power of Growth of Yimu emanating from its body influenced the surrounding environnt, making all living things here—plants, insects, animals, and even demons—much larger than usual.
