Chapter 981: A Long-Awaited Harvest
The Quarterback Superstar System was guiding Lu Ke’s growth step by step, not just in terms of technique and skill, but also in terms of psychology, character, experience, and ability. To truly beco a "superstar," just working hard with your head down was far from enough.
Now, after completing the "Rectify the Locker Room: Level 3" hidden mission, Lu Ke had once again overco a difficult problem and took another firm step forward.
The reward for the hidden mission was the ultimate idle video-watching function.
During the NFC Championship Ga at the beginning of the year, although he unfortunately lost the ga, Lu Ke completed the special mission "Hail Mary." He chose the advanced idle video-watching function, which could run for 16 hours at a ti. This function beca one of the key drivers for Lu Ke’s rapid improvent during the entire offseason.
Now, the advanced idle video-watching function had been further upgraded to the ultimate version.
According to the system, the ultimate idle function could last for a full 48 hours, which ant that Lu Ke could continuously use the function without interruption and could choose to access the data and start learning at any ti. This gave him a unique advantage in the process of reviewing and summarizing ga footage.
Of course, this also ant that Lu Ke had more and more data to digest. The idle function could complete the summary, but it still required him to invest a corresponding amount of ti and effort to internalize the information.
With only two weeks left until the playoffs, the upgrade of the ultimate idle function had co at the perfect ti!
After checking the unexpected rewards from the hidden mission, Lu Ke officially began adding his points.
First, two designated special skills.
He briefly looked at the special skills he had. "Bullet Ti" was gone. "Tough as Nails" had one use left. "Falcon Eye" and "Absolute Footwork" each had two uses left, and he also had a few other skills that he didn’t use very often.
After so consideration, Lu Ke still chose "Absolute Footwork" and "Bullet Ti," mainly because they were the most frequently used.
Next, the summary and allocation of recent base points.
In the ga against the New Orleans Saints, he earned a total of eight base points from the ga mission.
In the ga against the St. Louis Rams, he earned a total of five base points from the ga mission and three special points from the special mission that appeared during overti.
In the ga against the Miami Dolphins, he earned a total of six base points from the ga mission.
In addition, he earned two base points from completing the daily training mission for October and November.
Before officially allocating the points, all special points were converted into base points. In the end, Lu Ke had a total of 59 base points.
Fifty-nine might sound like a huge amount, roughly equivalent to two golden points, but this was the total from four weeks of gas, which also included two special missions and two daily training mission cycles. This was far below the average level.
However, this was not surprising. In the two gas against the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins, including the one today against the New England Patriots, they were all on the verge of losing. From their performance to their stats and from the score to the outco, everything was unsatisfactory, so a significant drop in the rewards from the ga mission was a natural result.
Lu Ke didn’t rush to allocate the points. Instead, he carefully went through his entire attribute panel, thoroughly understood the data for all the technical sub-categories, and then decided on the allocation plan.
First, he added four points to physical attributes, bringing them from 95 to 99.
Combined with his ntal attributes which had already reached 99, this ant that both of his general attributes had reached the maximum. This didn’t an that Lu Ke’s body had beco a Super Saiyan. Every detailed sub-category still had room for growth. It ant that the balance of his overall physical abilities had reached its corresponding peak state.
As he allocated the points, the relevant data also showed a corresponding increase.
Strength increased by one point, plus the two points gained from training in the past three months, it reached 88.
Speed increased by one point, plus the one point gained from training in the past three months, it reached 77.
Acceleration increased by two points, plus the one point gained from training in the past three months, it reached 76.
Agility increased by two points, plus the one point gained from training in the past three months, it reached 78.
Jumping increased by four points, it reached 59.
Throwing Power increased by one point from training in the past three months, it reached 91.
After adding the points to the physical attributes, the points for the individual sub-categories increased by a total of 16 points. This could be seen as a huge bonus, one of the qualitative changes that ca from the double effect of long-term strength training and a nutritious diet. It could also be seen as a big improvent after his physical attributes hit the maximum.
Second, he allocated 25 points to the physical sub-categories.
He added three points to willpower, bringing it from 92 to 95.
He added two points to strength, bringing it from 88 to 90.
He added three points to speed, bringing it from 77 to 80.
He added four points to acceleration, bringing it from 76 to 80.
He added two points to agility, bringing it from 78 to 80.
He added eleven points to jumping, bringing it from 59 to 70.
After two seasons of polishing and accumulation, his physical attributes were no longer Lu Ke’s weakness. Except for jumping, which was at 70, all other sub-categories had reached 80 or above.
Of course, he still couldn’t be compared to a superhuman like Cam Newton, let alone compete with the monsters on the defensive side, but as a pocket quarterback, Lu Ke’s physical attributes had already reached a top-tier level. In other words, he no longer had to worry about improving his strength and physical training. He could shift his focus to further improving his technical and tactical skills.
Third, he allocated 30 points to the technical sub-categories.
He added five points to passing while running, bringing it from 90 to 95.
He added four points to play-action fake, bringing it from 95 to 99.
He added five points to ball security, bringing it from 65 to 70.
He added two points to rushing ability, bringing it from 83 to 85.
He added five points to left-side perception, bringing it from 48 to 53.
He added five points to right-side perception, bringing it from 61 to 66.
He added four points to scrambling ability, bringing it from 56 to 60.
From the various stats, it was clear that Lu Ke was a standard pocket quarterback. In the passing-related categories, Lu Ke had already uniformly reached 90 or above. Now, what he needed to improve was his ga awareness.
For example, pocket footwork. If the offensive line couldn’t provide effective protection, how should he find an opening to complete a pass? For example, side perception. If the opposing defense’s tactics fooled his reads and a blitz happened, could he protect himself and the ball even if he couldn’t escape?
And for example, passive scrambling. When the passing routes were completely shut down and he found an opening in the defense, did he have the ability to use his legs to create a gap like Aaron Rodgers, or even run for a first down?
The control of these details was precisely the key to his ga quality improving invisibly.
In the past few weeks, or more accurately, since the ga against the New Orleans Saints, Lu Ke had felt this point step by step: the so-called elite quarterbacks were not elite because of their superb skills or unique abilities, but because of their ability to read, control, and understand the details of the ga during a confrontation.
After two seasons of grinding and accumulating, Lu Ke was now an excellent quarterback, on par with quarterbacks like Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, and Matt Ryan. In so technical aspects, he was even better on paper. But to stay at this level and go even further, Lu Ke still had a lot of work to do.
This was Lu Ke’s goal from now on.
Right now, Lu Ke was absolutely full of motivation. There were two more regular season gas, and he would go all out to fight for victory. He wanted to beco stronger. He craved to beco stronger! And then he would sprint toward the Super Bowl with a single-minded focus!
Are the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals ready? Lu Ke was ready.
The entire locker room was filled with high-spirited conversations and lighthearted laughter. The depression and gloom of the past three weeks had quietly disappeared.
While talking and packing up, the players were getting ready to leave the locker room to take the team bus to the airport. Since there was no airport in Foxboro itself, they either had to go to the nearby Rhode Island T.F. Green Airport or the Boston Logan International Airport. No matter which option they chose, they still had to travel on the road for a while.
"Bambi, I think that guy at the door... is looking for you," said Aldon as he pushed open the locker room door to leave.
Lu Ke looked up and saw him. "Vincent?" Vincent Kemp, Leigh Steinberg’s assistant. "Why isn’t Leigh here today?"
Vincent peeked his head in and made sure all the procedures in the locker room were finished. Then he hesitantly said, "Leigh, uh, he didn’t co to Foxboro today. He’s in New York. In fact, I’m waiting for you to go with ."
"New York?" Lu Ke blinked. Because of the locker room issues recently, he and Leigh hadn’t talked for a while, and he was a bit out of sync.
Vincent gave an affirmative answer but didn’t say anything more. "Leigh told to tell you that it won’t affect your practice schedule for tomorrow and the day after."
Lu Ke spread his hands. "Then I have no reason to refuse." His teasing words made his teammates laugh out loud. "Alright, I’m going to the Big Apple now. That bustling tropolis. Don’t be jealous." Amidst the jeers, Lu Ke picked up his gear bag, followed Vincent, and left the locker room.
