The Mu Group, just today, right before the Spring Festival in Mo Country, officially held a global dia conference. dia from all over the world gathered, and nobody understood what exactly the Mu Group wanted to do at this point in ti.

After all, right now the Mu Group’s upper managent has been caught up in one topic: immortality.

The word "immortality" spread throughout Mo Country. Many people there felt that those won from the Mu Group must be fairies descended from heaven; otherwise, how could they be so capable?

So people believed that these won had taken an elixir of immortality and thus beca ageless, while abroad, everyone tended to think the Mu Group’s executives weren’t human at all, but so alien race, with different true faces hidden beneath—what they show now is not their real appearance.

As for another theory, it was even more outrageous: it said the Mu Group’s executives were robots sent from the future, which was why they were so powerful in the field of robotics. They were supposedly created by future humans and sent back to help themselves.

All those fantasies would be shattered today.

Because the Mu Group convened a press conference today. No one knew why the Mu Group would choose to hold a press conference right at such a sensitive mont. It was easy to imagine that when the ti ca, a huge crowd would bombard them with questions about why they never grew old.

Why is it that people in their fifties or sixties still don’t show signs of aging? That was sothing worth pondering.

But that in itself wasn’t much; human speculation is limitless, after all.

Lin Fei was sitting in front of the television at this mont. The TV set in his ho was still the sa as before, already more than ten years old. There weren’t many of these antiques left. The won had preserved it as it was, to rember the then-missing Lin Fei.

Now Lin Fei was watching the scenes on the TV screen—it was footage of Mu Shanshan and the others being interviewed. They had just walked out from backstage and, under the reporters’ frenzied flashing lights, stepped in front of everyone. Then the security guards signaled for the crowd to put down their caras.

Reporters from Iron Country, Mo Country, Yan Country, Western Country, and so on and so forth—over two hundred countries in total—had all sent representatives. They bore the honor of their nations and were prepared to show their skills at this press conference, to ask the questions they wanted to ask. But since it was not yet ti for Q&A, they could not open their mouths.

The Mu Group executives ca before the crowd and, to everyone’s surprise, bowed to them. This confused all present. Take Mu Shanshan alone—her status far eclipsed that of a United Nations minister, yet she bowed to everyone. And even people watching through their TV screens could feel that this bow was not for the reporters, but for all people. The Mu Group chairwoman’s action left a trace of unease in everyone’s heart.

This was the feeling of dependence produced by years of relying on them. Mu Shanshan’s bow made everyone’s hearts grow restless and lost. That uneasy feeling filled their chests. They couldn’t help but stop what they were doing and stare at Mu Shanshan on the screen.

The chairs before Mu Shanshan and the others remained untouched; they did not sit down, but simply stood there. Mu Shanshan stood in front, with a row of Mu Group executives behind her.

"Our Mu Group has been around for over twenty years now," Mu Shanshan began.

The unease in everyone’s hearts only deepened, and Mu Shanshan continued, "Over these twenty years, there are so people we must thank. So of them have grown old, so are still in this world. It was they who created the high-tech products of this era. They are our Mu Group and all the designers across the globe."

"That the Mu Group has what it has today is entirely thanks to them. I and these sisters behind have no real rit to speak of. All we’ve done is manage them. But for them, that might not even count as a good thing." Mu Shanshan gave a self-mocking smile.

Yet when people around the world heard this, no one could laugh. They even felt a rising unease, a sourness in their hearts, as if realizing that the people of the Mu Group were about to leave. They wanted to cry; their eyes stung, and tears welled up at the rims.

"Recently there’s been a very hot topic, naly the issue of our age and our appearance. I can say that the alien theory or the robot theory is incorrect. At the very least, we have not provided any technical support of that sort. Whatever has been achieved is thanks to the truly technical personnel. As for whether there are aliens or people from the future among them, that I don’t know."

Mu Shanshan revealed a stunning smile, making many people sigh. So this matter really had affected the Mu Group’s top brass. Perhaps it was precisely because of this that they had convened the press conference.

After that, Mu Shanshan spoke again: "I, Mu Shanshan, have hardly ever left Zhonghai. Even when I did, there were always traces to follow. So of course the rumors about immortality are false. As for why we look so young, let’s just call that a high-tech secret. I won’t be talking about it here."

Hearing this, those who had been harboring hopes let out a collective sigh. So it really was impossible for it to be made public. anwhile, so reporters had already received orders to dig to the bitter end and force out the secret of how Mu Shanshan and the others maintained their youth.

Everyone was waiting for the Q&A to begin, but right then Mu Shanshan announced a piece of news that shocked the entire world.

"Our Mu Group is a tech company, not an entertainnt company. Since we executives have been dragged into entertainnt news, we naturally can’t continue to turn a blind eye. So our upper managent has unanimously decided to withdraw from the Mu Group and transfer all of our shares to Lin An of the Mu Group. We believe he can do even better. Thank you all for your long-term care and support. Thank you!"

After saying this last sentence, Mu Shanshan led everyone in a bow toward the caras. While everyone was still stunned by the news, even the reporters hadn’t expected that this was what Mu Shanshan would announce. They all froze. This was a world-shaking event: the Mu Group’s upper managent was retiring en masse!

Mu Shanshan spoke very quickly, compressing everything into almost a single breath. And before anyone could react, she and the others had already left the stage. The screen was left with nothing but emptiness.

When everyone finally ca back to their senses, they looked around in shock, and in the end many of them couldn’t help shedding tears. There were elderly people, young people, middle-aged people among them. The Mu Group had been the ones who accompanied them as they grew. They had watched the Mu Group grow as if watching their own children, full of hope.

But today, without any suspense at all, that hope in their hearts seed to shift. From now on, they might never again see Mu Shanshan appear before their eyes.
