“It’s all my fault—please don’t cry.” He gently held her in his arms, patting her back softly, just like how her father comforted her as a child. That sense of warmth was like the soft moss after rain, quietly growing in her barren heart.
She nodded, gently nuzzling her head in his embrace. Yu Zexiao didn’t let go, holding her tight. Without speaking, they simply leaned against each other, feeling their hearts getting closer.
For a long while, until she had completely cald down, she peeked her head out from Yu Zexiao’s arms. Her eyes were slightly red and swollen, resembling a soft little rabbit, particularly pitiable.
“I won’t ever push you again, alright?” he whispered, believing she was upset with him.
“Mm, mm.” She choked up a bit.
Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. Yu Zexiao and Jian Anning both froze, exchanging a glance. Yu Zexiao thought, fortunately, he didn’t start anything with her just now. Otherwise, how could they handle being interrupted in such an emotional mont?
He imdiately let go of her and walked to the video doorbell. Seeing Hong Minjun at the door, he pressed the unlock button.
anwhile, Jian Anning quickly pulled a suitcase over, pulled out clothes, and hid in the first-floor dia room to change.
Yu Zexiao turned back, tossing the scattered clothes into the trash can. Soon, the door opened, and Hong Minjun and Nie Anni indeed appeared at the entrance!

Yu Zexiao stood at the doorway, blocking them from entering, “Now that you’ve notified , you can leave, right?”
Yu Zexiao nodded, and Hong Minjun said, “Alright, although quite a few acquaintances live here. I even saw Mr. Si Weilian seems to have moved into the villa next door…”
